On time - knowledgable - BUT completely overpriced (had to pay 400$ for 1 hour without any material)

My husband and I had an emergency plumbing situation with our toilet on our first floor bathroom. My mom used Weltman for an issue she had and was lucky enough to have a wonderful experience with them so we decided to go with her suggestion. At first everything was fine. They showed up well within the 4 hour window and very friendly. He went through everything with me, asked questions and explained any questions I had. Turned out the toilet was cracked and needed to be replaced. Fine no problem except for one snag of having to wait about an hour for the toilet to be delivered because they do not carry toilets on the truck for risk they might break while in transit. That should have been my first clue. It's not my responsibility to pay for him to sit in his truck for an hour while waiting for the delivery. I got the bill and was shocked....$1400 for 45 minutes of actual work and a new toilet!!!! Foolishly I did not try to find other estimates. Because this was a dire emergency I thought I had no other choice. My husband called and spoke to the manager and her explanation was very irritating. The price includes the toilet (a Gerber which is the most expensive toilet and also the only one they carry), installation, parts and insurance. I've told this story to friends and family and every single person had the same shocked and outraged look on their face. My mom was so upset by this she is no longer using them either or recommending them to anyone else. We are a young married couple (which is by no way an excuse) and this is our first experience with overpriced contractors/plumbers. The one good thing we can take away from this is to be smarter next time and defiantly BUYER BEWARE!!

I was quoted a price of nearly $1000 to replace a garbage disposal. Decided to order it from amazon ($207), install myself, and save the rest of the money for an iPad, toys for Christmas, and a nice dinner.

They will rip you off. I was charged approx $1,000 for one hour of work (this is for the work only, i deducted the approx. parts cost that is available in any plumbing store). They are professional but would never ever use them again. Exactly like my next door neighbor said to me the next day - ""I saw the Weltman car in your driveway and i felt bad for you as I knew you are being ripped off"".

Stay away. I tried to get them to give me a quote but they cancelled twice on me. They gave me an excuse and said they would be here on the third try. Guess what, no call no show. stay away. I took off three days from work for these guys. STAY AWAY.....

It really pays to shop around a little. I had a coupon for a free service call so Weltman came and gave me a written quote for $1587 for a fairly simple 2 hour plumbing job. They were very professional. Fortunately I called 3 other smaller, local plumbers and each gave a price of about $500 over the phone based on the EXACT work Weltman proposed to do. Sure enough, one of those wound up doing the job for $475

If you have a service contract with this company, they'll cancel your appointment after you've been waiting for hours for them to arrive (this has happened 3 times out of 5). My entire day was scheduled around this appointment which was made weeks ago-- they're only interested in how much money they can bring in. They also installed a garbage disposal for me. I'm told that permits were needed from the town. They didn't bother to get any permits. They'll also bother you with phone calls (because they're slow) plumbing and electrical inspections in the winter. I'm in Florida -- I don't need these calls. I've asked a number of times not to call me -- it was to the point of harassment. Their estimates aren't free unless you have a contract with them. Any work that I've gotten estimates on have been way overpriced compared to other plumbing or electrical companies who have impeccable references.

My air conditioner was not turning on. Reason, my dog chewed an outside wire. The work involved replacing that wire, installing a fuse, and inserting the wire in a tube to prevent my dog from getting at it again. Cost $888 (with a $50.00 discount coupon), AND I was told that they would not include the cost to diagnose the problem ($345.95) or the service call fee (79.00). I could not believe my eyes! He did the work, but at such a ridiculously high cost that I certainly will not use them again or recommend them to my friends. They are over the top expensive!!

Nice and professional plumber but way overpriced. 189.00 for simple rout of drain. $88.00 for bio product to unclog drain (SOLD AT HOME DEPOT FOR 7.00).
