Service call for our Takagi tankless heater. The heat exchanger was still under warranty. He insisted the unit was junk and gave me a replacement price of 5 grand to replace a $1,349.00 unit and labor of 3650. Had no equipment to check the trouble shut the code or electronics of unit. Even told me my Isolation Valves & Pressure Relief Valve were junk and he would cut them out and use Shark bites.
Had new service tech come out. Amazing very Knowledgeable, had the equipment to check unit. Had my whole unit disassembled and put back together in the same amount of time that Wellman just stood there staring at unit telling me to replace it. 150$ and heat exchanger under warranty. Oh' by the way my traditional sweated pipes valves are fine and will outlast the unit.
also, If I wanted to replace entire unit with a new updated model and labor to install. Well under the cost for just labor for Wellman. Make sure you do your research and get bids for the work.

He solved my problem with water heater over phone, charge free.
For the same problem, two other companies recommended buying a new water heater for 2k price tag. Both companies have 4 star rating in yelp and more than 50 reviews. They were not bad guys either. they followed the book. based on error signal, the burner was faulty. replacing burner takes 3`4 days. new heater can be done in a day. However, Wellman went one step further, and tried to figure out the cause of that failure. It was a clogged air filter. And he just solved my problem over the phone.
I called him back to thank him and pay him for solving my problem. He did not accept my offer while he totally deserved it

Trevor was excellent. When I called initially, he recognized right away what the failure was. He thought it was a recall on the failing part. He told me to contact Whirlpool and verify the serial number and manufacturer model number. Sure enough, it was a recall. He came out and replaced the assembly in two hours from start to finish. I didn't have to pay for the part or the labor. He was very nice and observed covid precautions. He left the work area very clean afterwards. Good Job!
Thank you, Trevor.

Thank very much for your advice. I called AO smith for burner and gas contal unit. Ship by overnight. The water heater is running now.

Trevor from Wellman Plumbing was great! Showed up on time, masked and ready to go. Fixed our Whirlpool water heater with no fuss and no hassle. Now our dishes are washed and I'm clean and happy. :-) Not much more I could ask for.

My 3-years' old Whirlpool water heater stopped working. It showed flushing error code 10. Since it is still within labor warranty, I called A.O. Smith customer support. They gave me a warranty #. Then I called a few service providers. Some of them never returned my calls. Travis from Wellman Plumbing retuned my call.
Travis came in the next day. He checked my water heater, cleaned burner screen, restarted the water heater, etc. He also replaced the burner for A. O. Smith water heater recall. He is very knowledgeable and did a great job. My water heater works now. I do recommend his service.

Trevor originally responded to an urgent call (water heater died while my wife is recuperating from major surgery) and did all possible to get me at least back in business via phone until the repair work could be done. I got the new part in under manufacturer's warranty, and he slotted me into his full schedule the day the part arrived. He explained everything, answered any questions I had, and went above and beyond just the part swap out in the way he serviced my water heater. I heartily recommend this business!

I can't rate Trevor and Wellman Plumbing highly enough.
We made the mistake of buying a new water heater through Costco three years ago (they no longer offer this). Costco's contractor installed an A.O. Smith water heater.
About a month ago, the water heater started emitting loud bangs. Seriously, the bangs were like gunshots. Then five days ago, the pilot light went out and wouldn't restart.
We've been without hot water since then. Not fun, but Wellman Plumbing to the rescue.
Trevor told me he does a lot of these as warranty service for A.O. Smith. He was highly organized, respectful, easy to understand -- even non-technical person me understands the problem now -- just a nice, nice guy. I wanted to take him home with me except 1) I was already home, 2) my husband would probably object and 3) I'm sure he has other unfortunate A.O. Smith customers waiting!
He even explained to me how to fix the recirculation pump on our system, which isn't even part of the water heater.

No idea how everyone gave this company a good rating? Customer service was terrible! I would be hesitant to call this guy! Here's our story and why:
We received a brand new Whirlpool water heater for our original water heater since it was under warranty. After installation, it was making a loud humming noise when the burner starts. The sound was echoing from our garage and we could hear it in our bathroom. Called the Water Heater Technical support center and notified the technician on the noise issue.
The technician referred 'Wellman Plumbing' to replace the burner and to fix the issue. They ordered the part for this plumber to do the work.
My hubby was told by the Whirlpool Warranty technician, they contacted 'Wellman Plumbing' and expect a call from 'Wellman plumbing' to schedule the repair.
Two days later Trevor from 'Wellman Plumbing' called that morning he had the part and scheduled the repair. My hubby and Trevor both agreed for the repair on the same day between 11am-1pm. My hubby went home early from work and waited until 1:30pm. My hubby had to be the one to contact Trevor since he did not meet the appt. Trevor stated his work van was not working and won't be able to do the service the day. It would've been nice to get a courtesy call earlier but nothing. He apologized for the inconvenience and he would call once his van was fixed and reschedule the repair. Apology too late.
Waited two days again and still no call. My hubby called 'Wellman Plumbing' again and left a voicemail for Trevor. He returned my hubby's call and stated he's too backed up and couldn't provide a date or time to replace the burner on my water heater. Really?? He already had a part and appt with us earlier?!? He should have honored our appt or at least, be first for next appt. He probably would rather take the other callers instead of us? It might be because this was a warranty service call and not a his direct business call?
Trevor recommended for my hubby to call the Water Heater warranty again and to ask for another plumber to make the repair instead of him. Is that a brush off?! We figured he did not want to do the repair/replacement but it would've been nice to get a courtesy call. We should've known better from our first encounter with Trevor.
We should've called the warranty service center on the first cancellation but 'Wellman Plumbing' had good ratings on Yelp and he already had the parts for the repair. My hubby told him we would stick with him to make the repair. But in the end, he left us hanging and we would have to wait till next week for the repair with a different plumber.
I gave him only one star for at least, calling us back and apologizing. The rest, beware. His service is ify!! Good luck people! [45/100]
