Mike Welch is THE best plumber.... I called him to go out to my boss' house in Carlsbad to repair a broken garbage disposal. Mike made the appointment quickly, showed up on time and when he figured out that the garbage disposal was still under a warranty - he was HONEST & let my boss know so that he could get the repair work done at no cost, then proceeded to have the warranty company contact us for repair!! How many plumbers (or any business owners) are honest to the point that they would lose out on a chunk of change so that a potential client could get the work done for free by someone else? Not many. We have a 1 1/2 year living in our home and the toilet has not operated correctly for a while now, no amount of plunging was taking care of the problem.

I logged into yelp on my droid to find a plumber in the area and these guys came up.

I called them around 930 in the morning and they scheduled an appointment for 1pm. First of all, same day service is AWESOME! They arrived on time and ready to work.

After some work they were able to remove what was causing the stoppage. Apparently the 1 1/2 year old decided to flush one of the dogs bones.

Mike Welch was professional, personable, courteous, clean and efficient. I had a working toilet in less than an hour.

He really appreciates and values his customer and it shows.

I am updating after having used another plumber. The other plumber was waaay better experience not only did they do what was requested, but also advised us how to secure the tub to prevent any cracking of the grout. This company put the tub in but did not secure to the studs which from what I understand is common practice.

Something was wrong with our sink and both sides kept filling up with disgusting, vomit colored water. We weren't sure what was wrong so we called up a plumber. At the beginning he gave us the price for what needed to be done and was finished with the job in less than a half hour. It turned out that our garbage disposal was chock full of egg shells (children are stupid). After, he told me that our disposal also had a leak and taught me how to replace the disposal and told me the exact kind of disposal that I needed to get. It turns out he didn't need to do this because he told me after explaining that if I couldn't figure it out than he could come back and do it for a price but he knew that my mother was low on cash and it would be considerably cheaper for me to do it myself. He didn't need to do this. He very easily could have told me that we needed a new disposal and then told me the price he charged for replacing it.
Mike was respectful, helpful and easy to talk to. I would recommend him for any time vomit colored water appears anywhere in your home or business.

I called Mr. Welch early one morning when our water heater failed; by that evening, he and his assistant had installed a new one, taken the old one away, and made sure all of our water lines were clear. Since then he has replaced some faucets and tub parts for us. The service was fast, professional, clean, and very reasonably priced.

If you need a plumber, call him. If the above hasn't convinced you, he makes a point of hiring veterans, and volunteers at the San Diego Food Bank in his free time. He's a good plumber and a good man.

I had water that was backing up into my kitchen sink. Mike came over the the same day as I called and did what they could to fix the problem. All was well for about a week and the problem came back. Mike came back within hours of calling him and fixed us right up. It's been a couple of weeks now with no problem. Mike was very polite, clean, and his prices were more than reasonable. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Our toilet was running constantly and we were having a big group of people over-- it needed to be fixed efficiently and quickly. I had looked at lots of YouTube videos on fixing toilets and tried the simple stopgap things to see if they'd fix the toilet, but no go. I really didn't want to take the tank off to replace the entire valve assembly... I called Mr. Welch's company and he came out and immediately figured out what was wrong. Just a rubber seal needed replacing. What was really great was that while he worked, he showed me how to replace it, step by step so that if/when the other toilet started showing the same symptoms, I could fix it myself! It was like having a mini shop-class lesson, and I was really happy that I learned something new. Mr. Welch was speedy, polite, courteous and efficient. I would call him again in a heartbeat for any more plumbing needs. He saved me many trips to the hardware store to pick up unnecessary parts and my party wasn't ruined by having a constantly running toilet. A really great local business!
