BAM! BAM! BAM! A loud noise woke me from my nap and was repeated. BAM! BAM! BAM! My dog was even cowed, no mad, killer barking ensued. Okay, I got the picture, someone wanted into my house immediately. I yelled that I was on my way and scrambled to the door. I opened the door to find our head engineer, who gestured at water soaking the hallway carpet- coming from my home. Uhhh. Ughhhh. I grabbed my house guard and let him in. He spent some time clearing the way, looking at the problem and said: ""You need a Plumber"".
My heart sank. Dollar signs danced before my eyes. Visions of disaster loomed.
I asked the engineer if he could shut off the water heater and recommend an excellent plumber who I could have come out, possibly the next day (I did not want to pay emergency rates unless I had to do so). He did both.
Weinberg was exceptional about scheduling. Normally they are booked weeks/months out. They fit me in within almost 24 hours of my call.
They came out, looked at the problem, we discussed the best, most economical way to handle the situation, and we proceeded. I did NOT need a new hot water heater, Yahoo! My problem was fixed, I had hot water, no leaks, and am thrilled.
I now have Weinberg listed as Plumber in my contacts. I fully understand why my building has confidence in them, I do too! Oh, the other FANTASTIC thing that happened? MY visions of doom, horrible prices? NO way, NO how! My bill was more than reasonable for the service.

Weinberg Plumbing was suggested because of the plumbing complications in my building. And did they deliver! Matt not only fixed the problem in a timely manner he gave me tips on how to prevent future problems from occurring. I am so pleased that I have passed on their number to family.

I hired Weinberg to fix a leaking pipe. It cost $360, which is fair enough.
But soon afterwards, there was a loss of water pressure in the bathroom sink. I called them back and he came the next day and told me that pieces of rusted metal in the pipes had gotten into the faucets, it cost me another $180 to fix it. But these pieces of rust weren't there before: they had come from him doing a bad job in fixing the leaking pipe and allowing these pieces of rusted metal to get into the pipes. He never admitted responsibility. Now I have the same problem in my shower head, and I'm going to fix it myself. I won't use Weinberg again.

Tod is a friendly guy, but I am not happy with the service. I hired Weinberg plumbing to fasten down a loose toilet and fix a leak in my sink. I was over charged for time
(they did adjust this) and the leak in my sink was not fixed. Todd said it is really easy to fix and explained how to do it. I hired a professional to fix this, not to be told how to do it.
Six months later the toilet was leaking water (which needed to be fixed immediately by my building engineer) which makes me believe that the toilet was not fastened correctly. I called to discuss this and he said that my tenant might have bumped the toilet loose. I don't think so!?

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE - UNPROFESSIONAL
I had an appointment scheduled for last Friday.
They called that morning to cancel my appointment, because a ""priority commercial customer"" had an emergency ... They didn't offer to come later Friday afternoon or evening and didn't offer to come Saturday. They didn't offer an alternative at all, just called to cancel.
They called later that afternoon to reschedule for Monday, 12-4. I told them that was an awfully large window and considering they just cancelled on me, they should offer a tighter time-frame. The woman on the phone was agitated and rude and she refused to offer anything else. They never showed up on Monday.
No professionalism from her on the phone and no-show plumbers;
two thumbs down!

Todd was extremely helpful, worked quickly and efficiently. I will use them again and request him for sure!

Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Had an appointment scheduled for them to send a plumber to fix a leaking radiator. Took the day off of work and no one showed up. When I called the office, the receptionist said ""Oh, they had to cancel, I thought the plumber would call you to let you know. Don't worry though, we will take care of you."" Well, long story short, many calls, appointments made and cancelled (all cancellations by them) it ends up with ""we don't have any plumbers with the necessary skills to fix a radiator. You will have to call someone else."" Really? You don't have plumbers that can fix leaking pipes? This was not my first time using them, but will definitely be my last. Had previous problems with them as well with a bill. Stay far, far away.

I have had my fair share of contractor-disasters, plumbers included. But, having seen Weinberg Plumbers around my condo, and knowing that they were highly regarded, I called them to help resolve several problems including the kitchen faucet leaking and the sprayer not working properly and clothes washer backing up into the bathroom sink when it drained. Todd arrived at 8 as scheduled - already a good start - and worked his way through the unexpected. The hole drilled in the granite counter top was too small for most replacement faucets. But Todd found the perfect one at an excellent price at the Faucet Shop. (Those guys are great, too.) There was not a working shut off valve under the sink (thanks, previous contractor). He installed one. The washer problem was solved with rodding, and he also replaced a partially-rotted pipe. He discovered other minor problems and just took care of them. It is clear that he takes pride in doing the job right. And he solves the unexpected problems creatively. I haven't received the bill yet, but you know what? It will be well worth it no matter what it is.

So, I'm a girl.
This isn't a problem, however my gender frequently becomes a handicap when dealing with general contractors, auto mechanics, home fix-it types... and plumbers. I manage the apartment building that I live in, and frequently require the services of contractors when units need to be serviced. I had gone the cheap route and hired plumbers from craigslist a few times - I saved money, but the results were always temporary and terrible.
The last time I needed a plumber, I decided to look for longevity in business as well as skill level of employees, rather than experience another craigslist horror-story. I called around to several local companies and decided on the bid from Weinberg Plumbing. The difference in my experience with Matt versus my previous craigslist plumber was like night and day. Matt clearly explained what the process would be, and then made recommendations to me on what needed to be done immediately, what could wait a few months, and what would just be nice to do. It was SO REFRESHING for someone to speak to me like a normal person! All the work was completed very quickly - but not TOO quickly - and was done correctly.
I'll be using their services the next time my building needs plumbing work - no more craigslist junk-jobs in my building. I guess if you really want something done well, you have to spend a little more money and hire the professionals. Lesson learned!

Weinberg Plumbing has helped me out with a few smaller projects in the past and have always provided reasonably priced, professional service. But the other day when my husband and I came home to a broken water heater and cracked pipe in our basement, they went above and beyond. They called me back after hours to tell me how to stop the water myself and saved me a pricy service call. Other plumbing companies would have taken advantage of that and sent out a technician to turn off the water and then charged me for about 2 minutes of service. While on the phone, I explained that we have a 9 month old and could not be without hot water for very long. They scheduled a technician for the next morning. Matthew showed up exactly when they said he would and took the time to explain and actually show me what needed to be done. While it turned out to be a fairly expensive repair due to the fact that the water heater had to be completely replaced, I was confident that it was not only necessary, but done right. You know that creepy feeling you get when paying some companies or technicians for handyman services rendered? When you're not sure if everything they did was absolutely needed and then wondering if you're getting a good price for it? I didn't have one moment of that while settling up with Weinberg Plumbing.
