Omar Weffer was hired to install a smart thermostat at my house. Before arrival he asked if the wiring was setup for a smart thermostat and I told him that I just bought the house so I wasn't sure. He told me that he would check in the attic to make sure it would work. When he arrived he opened the existing thermostat and assumed that because the wiring was there, everything would work. He then proceeded to install the thermostat and then realized that the thermostat wasn't getting powered. He then called me to let me know that he wasn't comfortable getting in the attic to connect the power to the furnace even though he is a licensed HVAC technician to do so. Figure that! At that point he offered to charge an additional $200 for me to get in the attic and take care of the electrical connection. Basically a Consultant fee. RIDICULOUS. He also offered to send somebody with the same qualifications as him to install the wiring. The additional fee would be $300 which half of it would go to him for the referral. Again RIDICULOUS. This should've been handled differently. It was as simple as saying I will not be able to complete the job because your house is not wired and I do not want to do that work. He wanted to make sure he was paid for the visit so he did half the job and let me hanging. I wouldn't recommend this company at all. Stay away!
