Mr. Wedgeworth purchased the company from Mr. Lasitar in 1978. Mr. Lasitar had run it for a decade and a half and was prepared to step down. Prior to the sale, Sean had served under Mr. Lasitar for several years. For another 15 years, Sean and his partner led the company. He transferred ownership to his son Curtis Wedgeworth, who was called AC by many of his clients. AC and Robin ran the company until 2011 when they moved to the countryside near La Grange. AC's clients were upset to see him go, but we managed to keep most of these great customers who gave us the opportunity to help them. I was delighted, after a diligent search, to locate an reliable plumber whose patrons were so dedicated to him. Denise and I have strived to create that same sense of community.
I come from over three generations plumbing professionals. I decided on plumbing as my vocation after my time in university and the service industry. I wanted to build a business and a reputation that people would choose and be glad to refer. My wife and I believe we have assembled a fantastic team to support us. We looked for individuals who are passionate about helping others. We know what we hope for in a service provider. That is what we strive to provide for all of our clients. Treating others as we wish to be treated is our benchmark. If you trust us, we will go beyond your hopes. If you enjoyed our service, kindly share with a friend.
Thanks,
The Wedgeworth Family

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is only the 2nd review I have ever written. I discovered a water leak on Feb 16 at 8 pm (during the freeze). I called Wedgeworth on Wed, Feb 17 at 8:45 am. I told the woman who answered that I wanted to get on the repair list. I gave her my name, address and phone number. She told me it would be the Friday after next (Feb 26) before I would get service. I had not heard from them so I called on Thur, Feb 25 at 10:43 am. No one answered. I left a voice mail asking for a status update and explained I was on the waiting list. I left my name and number. No response. I called again on Wed, Mar 3 at 10:48 am. Their message sais they would RETURN ALL CALLS. I again left a message with my name and number asking for a status update. By this time, I am stressing out that they are ignoring me completely. This is the ONLY plumber I had called. It had been over two weeks since I had water. As of today I have not heard from Wedgeworth. I never asked to skip the line. I expected to wait, but for them to never respond is totally unacceptable. I finally found another plumber who took 1 1/2 hours to repair the leak.

Another excellent experience with Wedgeworth! James helped us select the right toilet for our replacement project, then did a great job installing it. We've used Wedgeworth a number of times and each experience has been good - reliable quote, competent technicians, excellent work. Thanks, Sean, for running such a great company, and thanks James for a great job!

I'm not somebody that leaves 1-star reviews. Normally I give at least two stars, even my experience was pretty bad. I'm leaving one star because I just really, really wish I had never called Wedgeworth Plumbing.
I called Wedgeworth because--why not?--they had good reviews. Well I had a few problems. First, I found out later that they are more expensive than a lot of the other plumbers in the area for the same job.
Wedgeworth charged me $225 to snake my drain (two different times)
Beacon charged me $160
Wedgeworth charged me $225 to run a camera
Beacon didn't charge me
Wedgeworth quoted $3250 for concrete pipe replacement
Beacon quoted $2560 for the same thing
The second problem was with the quality of the work. Wedgeworth didn't use a locator when they ran the camera. That's bad, because they were marking with white paint where to dig up the pipe. If I had gone with Wedgeworth to replace my pipe, they may have dug in the wrong place! When Beacon ran a camera the next day, they said a plumber should never run a camera without a locator like Wedgeworth did. There were some other small things Beacon pointed out on the camera that Wedgeworth missed.
The third problem was that Wedgeworth didn't honor their price--at least not at first. After they ran the camera, they quoted me for the concrete pipe replacement and scheduled me for the next day. They agreed to credit me back for the camera and snake ($450 off) since the pipe replacement was such a big job. However, when they showed up the next day to start the job, they were not willing to honor that anymore. I told them that would be a problem so they called their boss.
While they were on the phone I started calling other plumbers, and I'm glad I found someone else (Beacon Plumbing). I told Wedgeworth to cancel the job for pipe replacement. Like I said, I just really wish I had never called Wedgeworth.
TL;DR Call Beacon Plumbing instead.

I highly recommend Wedgeworth Plumbing, who I've used for nearly 5 years. They installed a tankless water heater and ran water supply/sewer drain to a new kitchen island during a renovation project. Top quality service and attention to detail.
Their phone number is easy to remember!

I saw decent reviews so called to get pricing for installing faucet/drain/p-trap in a new sink plus seating a new toilet. Was told there's a $49 charge to send plumber to make an estimate. No thanks! I'm not interested in paying just for the estimate even if they apply it toward the service cost if you decide to use them. The whole point of getting estimates to the consider the company's cost before agreeing to their services.

I am so happy with the experience I had with this Company I had to share.
I had the most awful smell in my downstairs bathroom. So bad even with the door closed it smelled.
Had one company come out and wanted to pull the toilet up and replace the wax seal and do some sort of smoke test. Their estimate was $971.
I called Wedgeworth Plumber for a second opinion because of there good reviews. They sent a gentleman named Damondrick Bennett. The problem was caused by a rubber accordion style pipe connected to the p-trap. He poured Bleach and hot water down the drain and the smell is gone. He said soap scum built up in that kind of pipe causing that awful smell. Charged $49.00 I highly recommend this company and that Plumber saved us a lot of money.

Excellent work, extremely fast response time and job time. I've been disappointed by quite a few plumbers in the past and it was quite a relief to finally find a great plumbing service company. I'm recommending them to everyone. Every step from the initial call to the finish of the job was a wonderful experience. Extremely nice people, and I don't know what else to say except they're the best!

James came out to check a problem with my water heater for my rental property. The hot water was running out fast. He was fast and professional in dealing with my tenant. He recommended a solution to improve the water consumption. This was a fantastic overall experience with Wedgeworth. I will hire them again for a future need.

I was in need of a replacement toilet so I checked Yelp for some suggestions on a good plumber to do the job. I was impressed by the positive comments about Wedgeworth Plumbing so I filled out the Yelp form to request a quote. (Note: If you want to get a quote, don't bother with the Yelp form. Just pick up the phone and call them directly! All the Yelp form does is add a delay in response time!)
Within a couple of days I had a plumber (and his apprentice) at my home to check out what I needed. They gave me a reasonable price estimate and let me know there might be additional cost if the flange under the toilet needed repair or replacement. Because their quoted price was reasonable I decided to go ahead with them for the work.
They were able to schedule the work quickly and the plumber came back, new toilet in hand, and did a quality job! The flange was in good shape so I avoided the extra expense I had been warned about.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the work Wedgeworth did for me, and I'll be calling them again the next time I need a plumber.

Discovered at 10:30pm that we had a blocked drain line effecting all the bathrooms in our house. Called Wedgeworth at 9am the next morning (a Saturday) and they tech, Sean, was at my house by 11:30am. I explained the situation and showed him where the clean outs were. He asked some questions and then said based on what I told him, he could clean out the drain lines for $199 and if it did not work the fee for the attempt would be $100. I said great and he got to work. 2 hours later, drain line was cleared and all was good. He was very personable and friendly and we had a fun chat while he worked. He also put a scope done the line to show me what was probably causing the issues which was trees pushing up on the line creating a low spot where water and debris was collecting. Overall very happy with Wedgeworth and Sean in particular.
