Our home's thermostat recently began intermittently failing. We called Weather Machines to service it, since their contact was on the thermostat. We described the exact issue, that unplugging and replugging the thermostat temporarily fixed the issue. To fix this, they charged $175. The technician was here for roughly an hour (tech charge is $95/hr, + flat rate service call $40 + parts)

One month later the same issue started happening again. We had Weather Machines come out to investigate again. The tech was here for 5 minutes when he said we needed to replace the unit: $435 + labor for WiFi connected (our model) or $265 + labor for non-Wifi connected.

We declined this, since we were not anticipating the charge. They will STILL charge you the $95/hr + flat rate service call $40 for a total of $135. We called to communicate our frustration that we were being billed twice for the same issue. One sentence in, the receptionist interrupted me, said the work was billable, and that we needed to pay.

The company also claims we didn't communicate the original intermittent problem and that their repairs are not guaranteed.
We will be looking for a different contractor, since we don't feel like we can trust this contractor's work without budgeting for repeated service call charges.

We researched & received referrals for HVAC replacement. After getting estimates, we decided to use Weather Machines for the project.
Can't say enough good things about our experience. Excellent customer service, so comfortable having them in my home, patient with questions & efficient equipment. Scott & team got our new heat/AC installed on time & working perfectly.
Highly recommend this local company!

The technician came on time. He didn't introduce himself and was grumpy from the start. He insisted on changing a filter in the furnace before even looking at my air conditioner - which was what I called about. He then told me we either needed $1000 of work to recharge our air conditioner or multiple thousands (wouldn't even suggest a ballpark price) to replace the unit. He charged $140 for no actual help.

I received quotes from three companies for a new heater and A/C system. Scott responded to my request, came out to inspect, and provided a quote the next day. I had an antiquated A/C system and needed the old evaporating coil removed from the crawl space under the house - not an easy task, but one they agreed to do. While the quote was slightly higher than one of the other companies, I still went with this company because I felt they gave me honest answers to all my questions and were the easiest to work with. The crew got to work right away, and were hard working. Everything was tested and worked well before they left at the end of the day. I'm very pleased with my new heater and A/C and would highly recommend Weather Machines.

A new furnace and a new air conditioning unit was installed at my premises by Weather Machines. The condesate line that was used, was tapped into the sewer drain at a seam, not to code, causing sewage to leak under my home for some period of time. Hold your nose, the owner is refusing to provide me the name of his insurance carrier to pay for the damage. And Weather Machines is has billed me an additional $400. to install a new condesate line that meets code. These people do not stand behind their work. A second issue is that the air conditioning unit was installed too close to the gas shut off valve. SDG&E cited me on 5-21-2018 for a violation when they installed a new shut off valve. This issue remains. Ethan B. Santee, CA

Terrible communication, came out twice to my home without calling first to check out system and take measurements I just happened to be home so I I went with it. Then the installation crew just showed up at my door a couple weeks later at 8:00 AM to replace AC unit. Did not contact HOA even though all information was provided to them to do so. This created a headache because they just showed up with a Craine. Office staff was rude, and left garbled messages when they did leave a message. Very unprofessional company has no respect for their clients, or anyone else's time but their own. I got the impression Weather Machines thought the weather was so hot the company could treat their clients and other professionals anyway they wanted. Not a company that knows how to play well in the sandbox with others. Nor are they a company that can follow simple instructions on how to work with others. Left boxes and old AC unit in trash bins when told NOT to because it could result in a FINE. So maybe if you don't mind somebody just showing up with limited communication skills and the installation or repair does not require they work with any other professionals. They're probably a so so mom and pop shop. Definitely not professional, and definitely not able to handle any type of job that requires coordination with others.

Fabulous job. Measured Tuesday for a new wall heater; Installed Wednesday. Needed new venting, too. Whole job, including a very detailed cleanup: 2.5 hours. Josh put drop clothes over my area rugs, and in work area. Showed me how to use it, afterwards. Highly recommended!

Brian did a SUPER job on the AC Quality Review (efficiency and operability review sponsored by SDGE.) He patiently explained the meaning of our AC unit sizing and supply and return line flow (a bit mismatched.) He identified and explained the implications of a new code requirement for gas line sediment trap, and gave us a reasonable fix-it price. He talked me through the air handler condensate flow set-up. He was pleasant about having me follow him around to see how to do routine chores like wash the AC unit condenser coils. These folks are now my go-to HVAC team! YAY Weather Machines company, and especially YAY Brian!

I consulted with several AC companies, from big names to family owned and operated, before deciding to go with Weather Machines. Scott did the initial estimate and thoroughly explained my options. As he was the last company to provide me a bid, I already knew what to expect and had a good idea of what I wanted. Having experienced a few companies trying to sell me more than what I needed (it's a condo, not a mansion!) and poor sales tactics of talking bad about other companies, I wanted someone who was fairly priced, respectful, straight shooting, and looking out for me as the consumer. I am confident I got that with Weather Machines.

Scott asked questions about my usage and how satisfied I was with the cooling efficiency of the current unit. He then examined my existing AC and Heating systems. After his assessment, he provided me with a quote to replace my AC and heater that was very fair. I had told each of the companies I received a quote from that the AC unit stopped working and that I had been advised it was leaking but no test had been done to confirm this. Scott was the ONLY person who told me they would test the lines BEFORE installing a new system to ensure it wasn't a leak in the refrigerant lines which would have been an entirely different problem.

Scott was patient as I worked through getting HOA approval. He provided the specs of the new system I was going to get and photos to pass onto the HOA in an effort to be proactive with any questions they may have had. When the HOA had questions on the sound level of the new unit compared to the old, Scott did research to find out what the old unit was rated at. He even offered to communicate with the HOA directly if I wanted. He was very responsive and often replied to emails within minutes.

Install day went smoothly. The two man crew arrived on time and within minutes of being at my home were already laying drop cloths. I went to work and when I came home the job was done and my house was cool! Easy to work with, fairly priced, and incredibly responsive. It was a great experience working with Weather Machines.

I was referred to these guys by a contractor we've used over the years and they turned out to be just as good. We were trying to close escrow when the gas company told us we may have to replace the furnace
($$$$$).

First the owner of this company called promptly the morning after I left an online request. When I explained the situation he made arrangements to get someone out that same day. The technician Brian did a very thorough inspection and testing and determined it was a reasonable repair. Most places would just try to sell you a new unit.
