Water Technology Company
Company Overview
For three decades, our family-run water treatment business has proudly served the Hill Country area. Our solutions range from traditional water softeners to cutting-edge UV disinfection systems. For sustainable options, we offer rainwater collection and reverse osmosis installations.
In 1987, my father Frank established the business to address the region's persistent water challenges. Today, this family-operated company continues helping residential and commercial clients from our Wimberley base. Our priority isn't sales, but rather helping customers understand and solve their water problems economically.
Water Technology Company holds full TCEQ licensing and ARCSA accreditation. Frank founded the company when local residents had to rely on inferior service from distant providers. I took over the business while preserving his commitment to quality work and customer relationships. We stand behind our equipment, rapid response times, scheduled maintenance programs, and highly trained field technicians.

Hired this company back in 2015 to do quarterly salt service on a water softener at a vacation home in Wimberley. Everything seemed good for the first two years. However, they only managed to show up twice in 2017 and I had to call them for the second service call and only once in the first six months of 2018. It is obvious they neither have the system nor personnel to provide this service on a reliable or consistent basis.

Simply the best. Honest, knowledgeable, and reasonable. You can't go wrong with Trey Austin.

Have used them many times since moving here twenty years ago, but not happy with last few times trying to get something done, or with work done.
Tried to get estimate for water tank, and could not get return call after several attempts.
Work on softener took two times to get right.
Called for broken pipe. Got call that they would be right out later in the morning but no one showed up all day and no call. Contacted office and told other appts more important. Gave well into next day, and called them but no call back ... Last excuse was no one home, did not answer call, though I was here, and receiving calls. (Even then did not mean coming out as had permission to if no one home).
Giving up on using or referring them going forward.

I believe this company has good technical knowledge of water systems. However, their customer service is some of the worst I have ever seen. I called and scheduled a service appointment and a few days later they called to cancel and reschedule. Never heard from them for weeks and so I called to check my status. I was surprised to be told I had an appointment for two days later. All without any communication from the company. On the appointment day, with no communication, I never knew when they would arrive. Waited until 3:00 pm and then called to see when I might expect to see them. Was told they had no idea when they might arrive as they were all out in the field. I had a doctor's appointment and had to leave.
Overall irritated and disappointed with this local company. Will find another vendor to service our system.

Had Trey out to overhaul the control head of our water softener, he did a great job at a fantastic price. Would use him again for any issues.

Like a lot of folks around here our water stinks like rotten eggs (sulfur)
We dealt with it for awhile but got sick of it and wanted it fixed. Trey and everyone at this place made it easy. They came out on weekends ( when we are around) and gave me a couple of options ... I went with the one he recommended.
We didnt notice any change in the smell and i was worried that I had been bamboozled... But every follow up call i made was promptly returned and they made 2 follow up trips to figure out what was wrong , at no cost to me.
Turns out a hose was plugged- they fixed the hose and now our water is no longer stinky!

I had an "unfortunate incident" last weekend of a mouse getting into our water softener. It was a little CSI mouse, flesh coming off of it - disgusting. We were completely grossed out and horrified of course. Living in the country and having a well has its drawbacks. Drinking dead CSI mouse water is one of them. Hanta Virus martini anyone??
I called Water Technology on Monday morning. They were out the same day, within hours disinfecting my water softener tank and doing a bacteria test and doing their best to convince me that no one would die. Unfortunately, the bacteria test came out positive the next day, so they came out and installed an infrared device to ensure our future safety.
They also changed all my filters and scoped out the backyard for a rainwater collection system. The charges seemed reasonable and everyone there is SUPER nice. I think we are going to do rainwater pretty soon and I'm excited by that.
These people are my heroes this week. 'Cause I won't die anytime soon of the many diseases that come from rotting dead animal flesh in my water.
