The company changed for a replacement component (pilot valve) for $279 on the top of #139 label fee, another company changes for $50 ONLY. BTW, they charge $139 service fee no matter they do any work for you or not. The technician was very rude and unprofessional and kept saying ""F**K,"" and any other worst words you can think about when his tools didn't work. The worst service company I have ever used.

STAY AWAY from this company.

This company is a total ripped off. My water heater was leaking water and I called them to check. They came the next day and the technician spend 2 minutes looking at the water heater and said that I need a new one and provided me a quote of $1,896. I was charged $139 for the service which only took 2 minutes. The guy even said that my old water heater was installed not in code with the city of San Jose. I brought the house brand new a few years ago and It went through inspection by the city of San Jose and passed. He can make up all kind of additional charges without the consumers knowing if its true or not.

I don't like giving bad review but this company is shaddy.

I spent more time researching and checking online about the problem with my water heater as to why it was leaking. Found out that I just needed to replace the valve which only cost a few bucks. I replaced the valve and no more leak.

Totally unethical company!!! I happened to get their number from the mailer they sent out earlier, and called them....
The technician (Nick C.) replaced a temperature sensor in about 5 minutes and charged me $328, tacking on $179 for the part (+$149 trip fee).
I later called GE and inquired about the part, they said they could mail it to me for $12!!!

I called the office back and told them that they overcharged, and Steve sid they use only american made parts and not the Mexican made part that GE sells, and thats why it was expensive! bull shit!!

And he hung up on me!

BEWARE!!!! I called for service today and was quoted 139 plus parts. I had already told them what was wrong with the heater- the pilot was out and needed to be replaced. When the tech was here, I asked him how much wAs the parts- he told me parts was189. I'm thinking to myself, maybe it's 150 and they are marking it up a bit- which is understandable. When I checked for part pricing online, the part only cost $11. Beware- they are outrageously marking up part pricing and ripping off customers daily. Zero star!!!

On 12/03/2013. I had this people service for my water heater replacing the copper line so my water heater tank pivot light can relight up. They gave the part and labor for one year guarantee on my receipt invoice. However, yesterday my water heater ( hot water went down again and I call they at around 3:30 P.M. They told me they was close and need to call them back next day. They did not care my concern and the problem. Well. I called them today and asked them to come and check my water heater to find out what is the problem. They told me couple day ago P.G&E. was working in my area and had turned off the gas line. It was not true. I called P.G&E. and they said they did not have worked on any gas line in my area. Therefore, I called back to water heater professional, and they did not come out to take care my water heater, but also they denied for the guarantee. They wanted me to pay them again. I do not like this service because they are dishonest people. Please watch out for this kind of people cheating in business. I would rate this service only one star. I live in an older house, and I have trouble with little things now and then. I can usually fix things myself, and I have some decent knowledge of how things work in my house. Before I call for assistance, I usually try and inspect what is going on. Other times I get a little too busy with work and just call someone.

I called this company and spoke with a woman, she explained the cost to me and asked me the age of my house. I guess it made sense, as I was asked a few more questions. I was given a great quote, and she explained that there would most likely be code requirements because of the age of my house, and I was unsure of the last time the heater was changed. She explained that there was a possibility that the heater was changed before I purchased the home, and in that case I would have lower fees.

When Rick arrived he explained to me, ""There is a service fee that is required before I enter, should you choose to work with us, the amount will be applied to your total bill."" This is something I have experienced with other professionals, and it is acceptable to me. I mean, I'm paying for his time to evaluate the situation. Next, I keep a clean house, and don't wear shoes in it. He was very respectful of my house, and wore special shoe covers to protect his shoes. I have had one cable guy do this and all the others just walk through. I have had plumbers track and leave stains without cleaning up. Rick cleaned up after himself and left my new heater in a far better position from what it was in when I purchased the place.

Everyone was very helpful, and I guess I asked the right questions because Rick was very informative. All in all I had a pleasant experience with this company. They were respectful of my home, and I learned a few things. I would definitely recommend this company to family and friends.

The worker came to my house and qouted at over $400 than the regular price to replace a tank. When I refused the qoute and he charged me $179 for the service call which he did nothing. I gave him the check. I feel greatly cheated by this company which mails out the Emergency Shun Off card to make people call. Then they charge high service fees.

Unfortunately, another terrible review. I wish I could publish this more widely, but hopefully this warning will help some folks out.

These people are criminals, as far as I can tell from their behavior and the other reviews on this site. They showed up at my door, informed me that they didn't have the part, and then proceeded to threaten the landlord with legal action if the landlord didn't pay them for service they didn't deliver.

I tried to call back, and Steve, the guy answering the phone, hung up on me.

As far as I can tell, their whole business model involves mailing out stickers that people put on their hot water heaters, then overcharging by 300% for bad service. Don't bother, don't even risk calling them.
