I had been without hot water for 2 weeks for my ""2nd"" home. I had restarted the pilot but the pilot would not stay lit nor did my water stay ""hot"". Water came out lukewarm and I would always need to restart the pilot. I wasn't in a rush to get an assessment as I had been traveling. I finally was able to schedule an appointment with SDGE for a water heater assessment, and when he lit the pilot, he heard some odd noises coming from the unit.

He quickly turned off the gas and said that the water heater was ""bad"" and I needed a replacement. Original water heater of 10 years. He had never heard of a water heater hissing and making the sounds (knocking from the sediment) as my heater did. He mentioned that it's best to go with a small business owner vs. the big box stores (Home Depot/Lowes). I went on Yelp and Plamen's business was the first one I called.

Plamen immediately answered and requested info on my water heater. I sent over pics of my water heater and he gave me a quote instantly ($699 for 40 gal/ $799 for 50 gal). I scheduled an appointment for the replacement. The day before my appointment, Plamen called and confirmed my appointment. Day of, I was running 15 mins late, and he accommodated my schedule.

When he came to my residence, he was very professional, courteous and efficient. Plamen took the time to explain specifics to me and answered all my questions. After the install, he checked all my faucets to be sure water was flowing and pressure was right. He also tightened one of my sink plugs that only took less than a minute!

Plamen also relayed that if I were to go out on vacation or long periods of time, to turn the temperature to pilot so that the heater doesn't stay on while we are out. It'll save some money in the long run. COOL! Thanks!!!

6 year warranty for a Bradford White 40gal water heater with 1 year labor warranty. The entire process was 1 1/2 hours total. Started 215p and job completed by 345p.

We had a 23 year old water heater which recently developed a minor leak... (It lasted a bit longer than the 6 year warranty!) Then a few days ago, we noticed the hard water corrosion on top of the unit looked like a science experiment... so we decided it was time to get a new water heater, and we picked one up at Home Depot. I called Plamen the next morning to see if he could come out in the next few days, and he offered to squeeze us in that same afternoon! He arrived early and got quickly to work. Of course he discovered that a number of things had not originally been done to code, so he took the time to fix every one of them (including getting up on the roof to replace the vent pipe, and drilling a hole through the garage block wall so the proper drainage could be installed). And his price was very reasonable! He does excellent work, with attention to detail... You will not be disappointed if you call Plamen for your water heater needs!

Mr Braykoff is a very nice man to deal with is the first thing I want to say. He is efficient and timely. We have never had a Plummer on time or stick to their price estimate. Our hot water heater started leaking of course after hours on a Friday. Saturday morning I looked on Yelp for some referrals. I was amazed at all the 5 stars. He answered directly No voicemail!!! He even referred us back to our broken unit's place of purchase possibly not making a sale himself Wow in this economy. When that didn't work I called Mr Braykoff again. He was so straight forward and helpful and able to come over in his Monday schedule. Fast to say the least and clean and just so efficient. My 10 month old daughter was sleeping and I was racing around trying to get chores done (~10:30am). As I was filling my mop bucket I noticed no hot water was coming out. Tested all the faucets only to find a pool of water at the bottom of our hot water tank. My husband called three companies to get quotes and to see how quickly they could come take a look. Plamen was responsive and professional. He explained how we could look up how old our water tank was. It was 2 years past its 6 year warranty, so we assumed the worse. As expected we needed a new tank. Plamen made room for us in his schedule and arrived at our house at 3:30pm the very same day. He also offered the best pricing, $699 for the tank and install. He worked diligently for 2 hours and got the job done. He was careful to move things away from his work space and cleaned up afterwards. I was very impressed with his service. Had him fix another outside faucet that was leaky for a great price.
