Washington Energy Services
Company Overview
For more than 65 years, we have provided heating and cooling services, and we are here to support you.
Founded in 1957 by Ballard's own H. ""Vern"" Olson, Northwest Water Heater Exchange specialized in quick tank replacements and exceptional service.
Over the years, the company evolved beyond water heaters, transforming into Washington Energy Services, which now installs HVAC systems, windows, doors, and siding.
Washington Energy identified that there were businesses that sold products and others that installed them, but none provided a full-service solution.
We believed that offering products, installation, and service together would streamline the home improvement process for homeowners.
Now, Washington Energy provides tailored solutions for comfort and energy efficiency!
Whenever you spot our trucks with the blue logo, know that we are dedicated to surpassing expectations by delivering the products and services homeowners require!

Recommended Customer Reviews

The project advisor never showed up for the scheduled appointment (for an estimate for a mini split system), and no one from WA Energy Services contacted me about this. I had to call them to let them know that the project advisor never showed. Furthermore, upon calling the project advisor's cell phone number which went to voice mail, the mail box was full and could not accept any more messages. Not a good sign, and not a good first impression. I am very skeptical about the quality and customer service of this company given this terrible first encounter with them. I agree with many of the 1-2 star reviews. I think It's a hit or miss with these guys, unfortunately it has been a 'miss' for me.

Checked our heating/cooling. Price was higher than I was originally told, but that was found to be a misunderstanding on my part since we had a middle person between us the entire time who didn't understand the jargon fully. Done in under an hour and even let me know about other deals they have if I booked again. It's been over a month now since our service and things seem to be working fine.

I appreciate there follow up. I do feel I was heard. I just hope this person thinks of other people as I work in the building industry and was late to a job because I thought I could have bypassed the traffic. Thanks for reaching back out.

Update...they were awesome! Came out and put in new fans in both of the rattling AC units (2/4 were noisy) and did it within a couple weeks of my original review (despite an awful car accident of someone plowing into their building, and having recent temps 100+ lately). Friendly, helpful, and totally count on them. Will use them again! Thank you!

PSE sent Washington Energy Services as one referral for a company that does heat pump installations. They were prompt to call and schedule an appointment to have an estimator come out, which was great. The estimator came, we talked through several different options, and agreed that a 3 unit + heat pump was the best solution. The estimate came the next day for over $15,000 after over $3k in rebates, and for 4 units. I responded and reminded we were only planning on 3 units and asked if I could see an itemization of the estimate. He was quick to respond with a new estimate, this time almost $16k after rebates, for one less unit. I asked if it was correct that a unit less could actually cost more, and he advised there was a copy/paste error on the first estimate and this one was correct... and no itemization was available. Very difficult to understand how/why 3 units would cost that much in comparison to estimates seen online saying average price is $5-$7k (I understand every house differs). I lost all trust in this company before I was even able to do business with them.

Very professional, trained and skilled. We totally trust them for furnace, heat pump, generator installation, maintenance and repairs.

I'm updating this review due to the fact that Washington Energy sent a repairman out to my house this week and fixed my door handle. It was a quick fix, but it's so nice now to have the door just open up easily!!
I knew I was overpaying for my new front door from Washington Energy Services in 2018, but I wanted to make sure I had a door that was installed correctly and warrantied because my old door leaked cold air. I thought it would be worth the extra expense to use a company that would warranty the product they sold me. Washington Energy had a contractor come and install my door. I then had to have a Washington Energy employee come back two times to adjust the door because the contractor didn't install the door correctly in the first place. I still have a gold screw showing on the White door jamb of my new front door that was used to try to adjust I'd positioning of the improperly installed door. Next, I had to call about the weather stripping on my door. About 30% of it ripped off with normal use after about 6 months. They came and replaced the stripping, but made sure to inform me it was only as a favor because weather stripping is not part of the warranty. The weather stripping ripped again in exactly the same places about a month after the repair, but I never followed up a second time because I had been informed it is not part of the warranty. Now (February 2021) the levered door handle that Washington Energy sold me and installed just over two years ago is not working properly. I called and asked if the door handle was covered under the ""Lifetime warranty"". I was told no, I would have to pay $134 for them to even look at it. I could have paid about 1/3 what I paid for this door and installation at Lowes, but I thought I might get what I paid for with a more expensive door and installation job. I'll know better next time.

Just got a spam email from them without any way to ""unsubscribe"". I understand unsolicited emails when you purchase a product from a company, but I have not used Washington Energy Services before. I won't use a company that wastes my time with spam.

I had a pretty frustrating experience with Washington Energy Services. We called in early August to get a quote for 4 new windows. The sales rep came out to measure and told us that we didn't actually need new windows; just new glass and that would be much cheaper. Ok, great! We had budgeted for full new windows, but saving some cash is always nice. So I pressed go, paid a $1,000 deposit and scheduled the window service for February. Time passes, then in November, out of the blue, I get a $1,000 refund from WES back to my card without any explanation: no call, no email. This was Friday at like 4:55pm, so I called quickly before they closed only to be told that ""they don't do glass replacement, only full windows."" They were cancelling my service. This was all presented in a way that was clearly telling me to just buzz off and leave them alone like I was looking for a cheap fix and they weren't going to work with the likes of me. I was pretty flabbergasted! I still needed new windows so I asked to talk to someone who could give me a quote for what I had originally asked for, another sales guy followed up in December....it's now January and I've been totally ghosted, like NO communication. 6 months of wasted time with this company and back to square one: calling window companies for an estimate. I've never encountered a business that was so unwilling to do business...and kind of treated me like I was a cheapskate along the way.

Look up reviews for other contractors, there are better. I had WES come out to get a bid in December, 2020. Salesman Tyson W came out 12/15/20 and gave us an estimate. He asked what our lowest bid was and then made one that was lower than that. We decided to go with WES and emailed him after the holidays to move forward. Tyson then said that he quoted us incorrectly and that the bid was no good for the work we actually needed done and that the cost would increase by $900. We applied for an energy loan with the city that was already in process so we agreed to the increase so we could get installed quickly as we have no heat. He sent us a new bid, we were approved for the city loan and then Tyson and WES stopped corresponding with myself and the city. We tried to email all the people who were on correspondences with the city, Kelly C Jerusha B, and none of them replied back to us. We have cancelled our contract with the city with WES and will be choosing another contractor. I am disappointed that we wasted so much time working with WES and delaying the install. I would not recommend their services to anyone. If they are willing to ignore a $13,000 sale then I am glad to know upfront that they don't respect their customers instead of finding out after the install knowing they possibly would ignore or delay needed maintenance and repairs. Learn from my mistake and save yourself a headache.
