Judith M.We had an Archguard Fireplace Gas Insert installed by WES. In the fall of 2014, it was serviced by them for $217.91. It was determined that the remote on the wall no longer worked. I needed a new remote. That cost was $415.00.
In December, 2017, the fireplace was serviced for $288.20. The remote no longer worked. The serviceman was going to check on a replacement. None was found. In the meantime, my son, a rocket scientist (really), took the number of the wall remote, ordered a new part from Amazon, it came, he installed it. It worked.
Next in this tale of woe. The fireplace started acting strangely after my son and family went home. There was extreme condensation on the glass, the flames were inordinately high, and I turned it off. Enter my cousin, a contractor, who read the manual, fixed the glass, replaced the logs and embers exactly how they should be placed according to the manual. He said the placement by the serviceman was very sloppy. The fireplace now works perfectly.
I feel the $921.11 spent on servicing and a new remote wasted. I will never use Washington Energy Services again for anything. It has made me feel the sloppy work was done intentionally in order for WES to install a new fireplace for $4,000. Scam?
Kim R.Our furnace went out so we called and spoke with Nicole. WES wouldn't even set an appointment for a repeat customer. They stated they are ""saving space"" for other appointments?!
No longer a repeat customer. Called a local family owned business who answered the phone and will be at our home first thing tomorrow morning.
Washington Energy replaced all our windows and doors 20 years ago.
So 8 years ago we wanted to switch from a oil furnace to gas. we had them install a new Bryant furnace and gas hot water heater.
We've spent a lot of money with them over the years.
the heat exchanger failed in the furnace ""8 years old"" I talked it Bryant.
It's under warranty. Bryant said Bob's Heating could do the warranty.
So I call Bob's, They said yes the heat exchanger needed replace and the burner heads were not allied properly. He cleaned and adjusted what he could, put the furnace in limp mod so we'd have heat on stage one. checked our living space to make sure no carbon dioxide was not present. but he could not do the warranty because they did not install the furnace.
So we called Washington Energy. Their service tech was there less than 10 minutes. I'm not even sure he went under the house and looked at the furnace. He looked and Bob's heating work order.
He said it was not worth fixing even under warranty and we need a new furnace. charged over $150.00
I will never use Washington Energy for anything and will never buy Bryant again. Only 8 years old and needs to be replaced is ridiculous.
Dianna M.I have had nothing but trouble from the moment I signed on with these guys. I gave them the job to do my windows and install a new heat pump and furnace. I ordered at the end of June and the final window went in on 11/29/17. My calls went unanswered until I threatened to obtain a lawyer. I'm still having trouble getting heat in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Of course since it was the original duct work it's not their issue. Issues I had ranged from ordering the wrong size custom window twice, they shattered the outside pane in my slider and broke my garage door by leaving lumber underneath it. Oh they sent me a gift card for my trouble. I just want my stuff to work as advertised. I never judge a company by mistakes they make it's in how the correct them. So in this case they failed miserably.
Dean N.Update: WES never did return our calls. We did in fact have a new system installed and the technician said the old unit was all clogged with debris. ""like it had never been cleaned before"" I recommend WES annual service if you like to throw away money and pay for services you don't receive while you wait in the cold for a phone call that isn't coming.
Kaiser K.Same issue as most of other reviewers - Cancelled the appointment without even telling me or confirming. Had to call them to see where the tech was since I had been waiting. They're trying to push to after hours emergency calls it seems which makes them more money. Terribly disappointing.... I did use the after hours emergency service once and they resolved the issue but it cost a lot ($350) and took a long time before tech came out... I bought a house which has a system installed by them so hence I was using them but I will try and find a more reliable service.
Laurin D.They overcharged us and did somewhat shoddy work. This was a repipe. Instead of going through the wall (which would be harder work) they drilled huge holes right into the floor behind the sink and toilet! Try re-flooring that room! Even though I paid extra for them to change it back I did not catch the toilet until this week. They did come out to fix something that was leaking into our new cabinets but I have to say I made a mistake using this company. When using plumbers, remember that almost all of them are on commission and will fluff the bill as far and high as they can.
I don't recommend them at all. The only good part was initial phone call when I was explaining what the leaking water heater problem was and making the initial appointment. It all went downhill from there. When they came the first time, it went fine but wasn't great. Second time they visited, they had really failed at everything. Explaining everything went wrong wasn't good either because they never followed up until it started leaking water everywhere again. Then I really had to follow up. They were going to ignore and forget about me if I didn't contact them. Third time they visited it was alright. Just alright... So overall they failed.I will never call them again and hopefully by writing this, I'll save someone else's time and money.
My AC went out on the hottest day of the year, and I called Washington Energy since they had installed it years earlier. The repairman found the problem immediately, and fixed it. I was surprised at some of the negative reviews this company has gotten lately, as my experience with them has been very good.
C E.Immense frustration when dealing with WES. They installed an AC & Immediately it wasn't working properly, and after battling with many service calls over several weeks at my expense, trying to figure out what the issue was, finally I suggested the wiring wasn't right and pushed the service manager to send out an electrician, sure enough the electrician came back from surveying it white faced & told me to not run the system until they could replace the wiring, as it would be dangerous. I asked why the original electrician made such a huge mistake & he said they weren't properly trained! They came & replaced the wiring, at no cost. I didn't ask them to refund the several service calls, I could of but didn't.
So I'm a bit cautious of WES but, It's been a few years since then & recently I paid over $400 to have my AC & heating maintenance by WES. There was no issues, just getting ready for the summers heat. About a month later the AC isn't cooling like it should, and it hadn't even really gotten that hot yet. So I Called WES to come look, reminding them that they had just been here and did maintenance, they sent someone out a couple of days later, making no mention of charging me, why would they, they had just done $400 worth of Maintenance, right!? So the guy arrives, goes to the a/c unit and measures the output & informs me he thinks I have a leak in the line that runs under the house. (But didn't actually go under the house to look, cause that's not his job.) What? Then He says I need to pay $100 before He checks anything else. My husband told him to leave. He spent all of 15 mint our house. I call to talk with a service manager & point out to them that they told me they guarantee this work when they do a Maintenance. I expect them to follow through with that & figure out why my AC isn't working! I'm not looking for a freebee! Just holding them accountable to their word! Finally he agrees, sends a guy out, again he checks the unit in the back yard, checks the rest in the garage. Informs my husband that he put a little more coolant in, but there must be a leak. But he can't look cause it's not his job, we need to pay close to $2000 to have someone come out & look! Oh and he finishes telling us since he's proven it's not their fault, he expects us to pay $100, after being their about 15 min. My husband says pay the guy, get him out of here & call a different company. So we called a different company, they came out for $200, spent over an hour going through everything, and then informs me, when WES maintenance the unit they never filled it completely with coolant. So he has he topped it off & and could find nothing else wrong. He did not go under the house looking for a leak because he said within two weeks if it's not working properly then it is definitely a leak & then someone can go under the house to fix it. He highly doubted though that there was a leak.
So, I am writing this review 4 months after this other company was here, the entire summer has passed... guess what, our AC has run PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!!!! So what conclusion can I draw from this. WES doesn't fill with coolant all the way so they can charge $2000 to come check for a leak... beware of WES buyer beware!
