Referred to my wife by a neighbor (to whom we are very grateful).
Dustin brought an excellent leak detection specialist who confirmed where the leak was (under our slab) and specifically which pipe had the problem.
We discussed the merits of several reroute solutions and Dustin identified one that caused the least amount of disruption for us (and also would require meaningfully less cost than the alternative solutions). Dustin was very helpful in explaining how things worked and what the costs /benefits of different solutions were.
Dustin and his brother Dylan carefully, cleanly and quickly put a valve on the leak so we could turn it on when we needed the water (it fed our kitchen and Thanksgiving was two days away) and turn it off otherwise. They came back with their father, John, at the time we arranged to do the reroute and their work was excellent. They spared as much of our drywall as they could, cleaned up and offered to put furniture back in place.
We found them to be conscientious, friendly, highly skilled, zero pressure, and cost transparent. We're very glad that they are in business and we feel comfortable relying on their advice and service.

We have used This Plummer John and his family for over 10 years in every home we own, wherever we move. They have NEVER had to come out twice for an issue. When no other Plummer can figure out why something is happening, John figures it out! Seriously, we would never use anyone else!

I called John Wallace from Wallace and Son for a leak coming from my shower. They had been recommended for finding the cause of leaks. After one week of mopping up water, John and his son finally came out.
When John arrived, he was amazed at the amount of water that had been leaking. After removing the plate and faucet, John said he needed to call a
leak specialist to come out and help determine where the leak was coming from. It was finally determined it was coming from the valve. By the end of the day, John told me because the hole around the valve was so big, he would suggest getting a Moen faucet. What I had was Brizo and John didn't like or work with Brizo. For one more week I was without my shower with holes in walls and ceiling. John told me he was too busy to come back sooner because he was working on a multi million dollar home and for the owner, who happened to be a woman, money was no object. John's son came alone the following week and began to work. John stopped by to oversee and to show me the plate and to say they would be finished by the end of the day. John came back at the end of the day and said not to use the shower until the next morning.
When I finally took my shower, I saw that the plate and faucet were off centered by four inches. I called John immediately and was completely
put off by his condescending matter and abrasive tone. He told me my original faucet was off centered and I just didn't notice. I said I had lived in my house for fourteen years and would have noticed such a mistake. He said I didn't know what I was talking about. After many texts back and forth, John remained unaccountable.
I believe John Wallace has a problem with women who speak up and do not agree with him. John should have told me the plate would be off centered and given me the opportunity to decide what I wanted to do.
For all the reasons mentioned, NEVER! NEVER! NEVER! WOULD I RECOMMEND WALLACE & SON!!

I again went to Wallace & Son for a 2nd opinion after the insurance plumber assigned by my home warranty company recommended thousands of dollars in uncovered work. This time, the insurance company was willing to cash me out $400 while my unpaid monies owed to the insurance plumber would be $600 plus repairs to slab work [costing me thousands in repairs and re-tiling or more if the insurance plumber performed uncovered re-routing while tearing up my ceiling] and no water for four days to accommodate the insurance plumber's busy schedule to open. Wallace's son found the pipe with the tiny hole by looking at the hole opened up by the insurance plumber and replaced the pipe. As I said before, if Liam Neeson is who you call when you are taken, Wallace & Son is who you call to prevent being taken.

I had the same experience as Michele G (review of 10/14/2020)...(I, also, am a woman).... John Wallace and his son came to replace the p-trap in bathroom...within 24 hours of their ""service"" the parquet flooring had buckled...upon their return visit, John declared it was not a call back and not covered under warranty. He further stated there was a leak in the wall and that the wall needed to opened. When John saw that my fiancé was present and asking questions, John became hostile and defensive about his ""40 years"" in the business...John stated if he had to deal with my fiancé he would leave...I said he would be dealing with both of us and that he should leave. He and his son took off, leaving me with major repairs of my flooring. A subsequent licensed plumbing company came, examined all the pipes, and said there was no leak. They further stated, in writing, the damage was done at the time of the p trap change out...John Wallace's work caused the damages. I have filed complaints with the BBB and the CSLB.

If I could give no stars I would. John Wallace could not be any more abrasive! If you can't ask questions about what they want to do their motives are suspect. Or maybe ego. I have a toilet that intermittently has been going off. He mentioned that maybe it was the water pressure valve. No one ever mentioned that before so I asked? If you checked the pressure and you turned it down would it effect my ENTIRE HOUSE. Now if all my other toilets are ok why would it effect only this toilet ? and why would I lower the water pressure for my entire house?
He responded he wouldn't work on my plumbing unless he lowers my water pressure and didn't want to work for me because my questioning him meant I would be a problem.
Wow what a Egotistical...clearly a woman's questions convert to being difficult. Me too! Don't use this guy.
This is my first ever review on Yelp. Typical love the vendors and services.
I did call him back to give him a chance. Maybe he had a bad day. He told me to pound sand..
Thanks for letting me vent. Wish I was rating them on a service they performed. But they clearly don't need the business!

Upon recommendation of my neighbor, I called John Wallace on a Saturday to replace my leaking water heater. It was late in the day and John and his son Dusty promised they would be there the next day. They showed up on time, properly face-masked, and did a super job replacing the broken water heater. They also checked out my water regulator and replaced that as it too was leaking. They are the best! Thank you.

What to say ... not only did he have a honest bid , the job was done clean and fast. My husband was watching him and said never seen such a clean and professional guy... wow really refreshing that there is still great people out there... thank you so much Mr. Wallace for doing what you said ty

John and his son came out because we had our main shut off valve that wouldn't close. He went above and beyond in maybe ways but was fare the whole time. No pressure, extremely knowledgeable, great men, and great plumbers. Highly recommend.

I have been using Wallace and Son Plumbing for over 20 years. Again, he saved me. This time my water heater went out. He had installed the last one 17 years ago. I got plenty of good use out of it. When I called and told John the situation, he cancelled some non emergency appointments and came out early the next morning. I had an appointment but I knew the work would be done expertly and quickly so I paid him and left with a clear head. My roommate was home so I didn't have to leave a key for John to lock up but I felt comfortable enough to do so if I needed to.
I would recommend Wallace and Son to anyone needing a plumber for a large or small job as he knows his profession 100%. I only wish I could find others who knew their profession half as well so I could get other things taken care of in my house.
They are the best in the business.
