This company came to my house to give me an estimate for a bathroom renovation in January. I tried emailing and calling them several times to get the estimate or find out if they needed more information, but they never returned my calls or emails.

I've used Waialae Plumbing a number of times with both my own condo unit and my rental condo unit. They have been professional and freindly... from the gals answering the phones to the guys doing the work. The plumbers seem to know their trade well with confidence, they dont' waste time, and done a good job each time. I'll continue to use them.

The plumbing side of their company is great. They know their stuff. However I was pleasantly surprised by their construction side. We had custom construction work done on a closet and cabinet. The workers are real pros of the best quality. Drew who built our closet is an old school master in carpentry and his work was precise and finished perfectly. They are not the cheapest, but they do quality work. For me that matters the most.

I am a chronic Do-it-ur-Selfer. I recently needed about one foot of 2"" copper pipe. Normally one has to get a 10 foot length of this stuff. John responded to my e-mail and agreed to sell me the small length of pipe for a very fair price. He asked me to bring in photo's of my little self help project. I did, and he took the time to validate what I was up to. He made two recommendations to help make the job go easier for me, cut the pipe into the exact lengths so I would not have to make the onerous cuts myself, and asked me to call him if I ran into any trouble or had any questions. I felt lucky to be treated with this much decorum, because generally speaking, I find I have to go it alone. It was very reassuring to have this kind of oversight as a self-helper. Thank you John for taking the time to help me out! Cheers, Frank

I appreciated the professional service, knowledge, and experience that Waialae provided to solve the complex plumbing problems.of our facility

Faced with my 87 year old moms 40 year old bathrooms needing massive remodeling, I set out to get bids. ""Bonded, insured, experienced!"" my mom kept saying. ""No (effing) around!"" (she has the mouth of a sailor. Its adorable.), Four bids later, we chose Waialae, and are so extremely pleased with the work they did! On time, on budget, polite and tidy crew. They ripped out and replaced everything - even the walls - and the new bathrooms are simply gorgeous. The owner, John, kept us informed every step of the way, always responsive to emails and phone calls, even nights and weekends. This is a great company, found after much searching. Will use them again without hesitation - when my mom yells at me to get the kitchen remodeled! ;) Mahalo, Waialae Plumbing!

Called with electrical questions for work I wanted done at my place. Pros: --called back when they said they would --answered my questions (sort of) Cons: --would have preferred speaking directly with electrician instead of receptionist especially since I have little understanding of what I want done. I found it uninspiring that most of the answers the receptionist gave me included the phrase ""I think"". --quote for work was very imprecise and she could only give generalizations about what the work would include which is not good enough when they are are charging $115/hour plus parts. Conclusion: I'm going to pass on Waialae Plumbing and Construction because they inspired no confidence in me. Would have preferred speaking with a professional. Was really getting a feel for this company for future condo renovation work by starting them on a small project but going to keep looking around. Note: Have used them for plumping work in the past and I was well pleased with the results.

I recently had them come out and remove and replace the hot and cold shower stems for one of our rental units and prior to that, remove and replace all faucet fixtures and snake the shower drain and the main washout line. All work was done professionally. At times when they spot somethjng that might need attention soon that might be costly later they let me know exactly what needs to be done. I dont see this as trying to get work out of you but see it as preventive maintenance and I appreciate their expert opinion. We contract with them for all our plumbing needs beyond what i'm able to do on my own. They're always friendly on the phone when making appointments. I highly recommend them.

First job was complete, thorough but on the way to being expensive, yet I do side with that you get what you pay for.. Second job I thought was also expensive, and the results were not so hot. We had three items to repair and one was initially done incorrectly and required immediate attention, and the other needs a do-over. One was a shower valve remove/replace, and the dispatched plumber forgot to install an O-ring so it leaked quite a bit when he had water pressure restored. The second issue was having a leaking garbage disposal removed, and just two days later we have water leaking from the new drain piping. Sure, it visually looked OK, but it is dripping quite a bit and now I will have to take time off from work again for a do-over. They replaced perfectly good metal drain piping with (what to me is) cheap plastic drain piping and fittings. Update: 9/18/2013: Drain piping setup was disassembled and repaired. Hopefully this is the end of it. Update: 10/19/2013: I guess not. Their repair of their poor repair job still didn't resolve the problem. It STILL leaks! I've had to reduce their rating down to one star. Update: 12/1/2013: The repair was redone a few weeks ago, and it appears to be fixed--FINALLY!. Update 4/3/2014: The repair still seems solid. SUMMARY: The first repair was a four (4) star repair. This second was a zero (0) star repair because we still have water leaking from the piping that has now been repaired twice 6 days apart, and now it has to be repaired again. So I've had to lower their rating to one (1) star. This is only my opinion. I think it really matters who you get from a larger service company. 4/3/2014: Summary update: revised to two (2) stars since the redo of the redo of the initial repair appears to be holding up well.

Had a broken shower faucet and they came out the next day to fix it. Fairly priced and quick. I will use them again
