Jim started his path as a licensed plumber in 1962. Jim departed in the year 2003, and his oldest child, Mike Wagner assumed control and transformed the plumbing service. Mike started the trade in 1974, assisting his dad on the weekends and during school breaks. When he turned 18, he opted to pursue plumbing as his profession like his father and obtained his certification in the year 1982.

Unfortunately, the sibling, his brother Bobby passed away in February. Bobby is and will always be remembered every remaining day. Currently, the Wagner brothers are the only original family plumbing professionals at Wagner Family Plumbing & Drain, Inc.. Lucky for us, Mike is blessed with five children! That’s right! We hope is that one day when the boys are all adults, we will be blessed enough for them to decide to work for their family-owned business as their grandfather, father, and family members have.

We assure you to care for you and your business as if you were a part of our own. Jim was a licensed plumber in the year 1962; his parent was also a certified plumber in Chicago. He tied the knot and had 4 boys to the household: his sons Mike, Bobby, Ron, and Jim Jr.. Jim departed in 2003, and his firstborn, Mike Wagner, took over and redefined the plumbing service. He entered the trade in the year 1974, helping out his father on weekends and during school breaks. Upon graduating HS, he decided to pursue plumbing as his dad did and obtained his certification in the year 1982.

Unfortunately, Bobby departed in February 2009. Also, his brother Jim Jr. launched his own endeavor in the year 2010. Currently, Mike and Ron Wagner are the two remaining original family tradesmen at Wagner Family Plumbing & Drain, Inc.. Fortunately, Mike has 5 BOYS! It is our wish is that when the boys are all adults, we will be blessed enough for them to want to work for their family's business as their ancestor, Mike, and relatives have.

We assure you to treat you and your loved ones as if you were a member of our family!

We have had Wagner family come out several times over the 7 years we have owned our home. Our main sewer line has tree roots that commonly enter the pipe. We had them come out for 4 consecutive years and were unable to get them in February for an emergency so we used someone else. When we had them come out at the end of October we were told we didn't qualify any longer for our normal pricing. We negotiated at price, they came out. While the technician was here, I showed a coupon from their website. He applied coupon. This past weekend we started seeing signs of backup. We emailed the company and went to the company's site when the email bounced back. We finally heard back today from the company stating they only have a 30 day guarantee (companies like Roto have 6 month) as well as bringing up the coupon incident as a reason they would not honor their work 60 days after it was done.

If you are looking for an out of date company to talk down to you and disappear when their work doesn't actually work, this company is for you.

Buyer beware...

Update: I just discovered why the floor of my basement has been damp. I thought it was leaking in through the foundation from all the rain we've been having, but it turns out it was from the drain line from my water heater exhaust. Apparently Art looped and ziptied it off and forgot to reinstall it to feed into the drain pipe line. So it's been dripping onto the floor for well over a month, getting storage boxes all wet and moldy. So, I guess I'm just reiterating my 1 star review.

I've used this company since we bought our home on the recommendation of a neighbor. I'm not sure what has changed here but clearly things have gone downhill. In December we had them out for snaking our main sewer line. There were issues and surprise the line backed up within 3 weeks. They came out and resealed it for free this time. Well shocking to me today the line backed up again. In 6 years we never had this issue. I called roto rooter after calling again because I left a message earlier and go no response. Disappointing as I prefer to use family owned companies but I need dependability l.

Top notch service from start to finish. I had a basic 1-hour valve replacement job and called a few plumbers for estimates. While some refused to state a price or provided a wide (useless) range, Wagner was happy to give a firm price. The work was done very thoughtfully -- the plumber as really interested in doing it right. While he was here, I also had him replace another valve, which he happily did for a reasonable price. Pricing, timeliness, work, materials, and service were excellent, so I will definitely call them for my next plumbing issue. Thanks Wagner!

I had Wagner Family Plumbing out to my townhouse for a non-functioning water heater. Thankfully they were able to solve the issue without having to replace my builder model water heater. Most of my neighbors have had similar issues and had to pay big bucks to replace it. The technician who came out said we should have another 5-6 years left. Arrived on time and friendly service. Not sure how the pricing compares as this is the only time I've had work done on my water heater. All home improvement seems to be expensive no matter who you go through.

They're horrible. We are renters and have dealt with them quite a bit and they have been extremely late for their appointments and extremely rude. They ordered a part that should've taken maybe a week and it took 2 months before they brought it over. When they did show up an hour late they couldn't finish the job due to our schedule.

To provide a rebuttal to melissa, I am fine with a four hour window. If that was the case and times appointment times are not exact, then my apologies. As far as Erik, he showed up with what I presume is his kid in tow, to come and assess the situation. Obviously taking your kids to a client's home isn't very professional first and foremost and also gives the client the impression that he has more important things to tend too, which was obvious since he brought his kid with him. He never looked at what equipment he had, pulls a price out of thin air, my guess was if he gave me a high enough price I would refuse service but I didn't do when I told him to do it, he begins to stammer and tell me I would have to schedule because he doesn't have the time. Why did I give a one star? Unprofessional taking your kid to a job site, quotes prices that were triple ALL plumbers. 310 dollars to put in a 69.00 filter that literally took just under 2 hours to put in. For those reasons you got a 1 star. Like I said before, I give eveyone the benfit of the doubt, but when you live up to the negative reviews am I suppose to give you a rating higher than that? Melissa you deserve 5 stars for your customer service... Your plumbers well they just suck.

We called the Wagner family this morning because our water heater broke. They were fast, professional, and very reasonably priced. They did a great job and in a very fast service time.

I had a leak in my kitchen faucet. They were unable to come in that night so we scheduled an appointment for the following day. Mike was 30-45 minute late due to his prior appointment, but he called to notify me of his delay. I was given a quote for all the services (first visit and installation). I told him of my coupon from my association newsletter to which he said he would honor.

Ron and another associate came the following day to do the installation. They were quick and thorough. I was charged without the coupon amount deducted from the price. I realized this later on in the day and called their main office and left a message to make this correction before running my card. I did not receive a phone call the next day so I followed up with a second phone call. They could not find my first message so I left the same message for a second time. The following week, I followed up for the third time and spoke with their bookkeeper and left the same message. The next week, I spoke to the same person and expressed my dissatisfaction with their customer service. I told him it was not about the money but about their responsiveness to their clients. I was told he was going to personally relay this message to Mike and that he was texting him right then.

Two months since the initial service, I still have not heard back from anyone from their company.

Although I was satisfied with their work, I do not trust that their company cares enough about their clients and their client's concerns.

I bought a sump pump from them for $695; they assured me that it was worth the money and had a one year guarantee. Well yesterday (9 months after installation) it could not handle a moderate rainfall and they refuse to do anything about it. They actually told me to just go ahead and call my attorney (which I'm going to do). Their guarantee is not worth the paper it's written on. Stay away from this business, they're bad news!
