I've had pretty good luck with these guys for easy plumbing jobs at our rental apartment in Cambridge. They've snaked out/augered the toilet a few times, although it's not cheap, $150 for a visit generally.

They know the building and the units, so I do use them for this reason.

I'm planning to have them replace a toilet soon, will report back after that.

The best customer service ever!! I called this plumbing company on New Years Eve night around 10:00pm because my heat was not working. Not only did they get there within the hour but it was the owner himself. The heat was fixed and my party was saved.

Perhaps it's my naivete, but this plumbing company sucks. Here's the lowdown:
1) They only will make house calls between the hours of 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM M-F. If you want a plumber anywhere outside of these business hours, you have to pay an additional $100. Maybe this is the industry norm, but they certainly don't make it easy on a workin' girl like me.
2) They show up late. An hour late. I was promised the plumber would come between the hours of 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM. Around 2:35 I gave the company a call, and about an hour later, the plumber shows up.
3) Once the plumber was there, he determined that I needed my drain snaked. But according to him, he wasn't the ""drain-snaking kind of plumber."" Good to know, I'll order one of those next time.
4) After all the waiting and lack of repair, I was charged $135. Thank goodness it wasn't a Saturday!
