I had a great experience with W C BORCHELT & Sons. They replaced an electrical box, switches, and helped me bring my new home up to code. They were great, and I feel safer!

Unfortunately for me, and my pocket book the person living in my house called WC Borchelt & Sons to fix a leaky tub and sink faucet. The tub was fixed without incident. Their plumber attacked an enameled color-matched faucet with a bare metal wrench and badly damaged the paint surface. He did offer to come back later and replace the faucet. I turned their offer down, as he did not specify with what quality level of faucet he would use, but more importantly not wanting anyone from their company in my house again to potentially do more damage.

My service request was a kitchen faucet be installed (I already bought faucet), leaking outdoor spigot be repaired, a bath fan be installed (already bought fan to replace a smaller version), and 2 outside lights checked to see why they weren't working. Scheduler was friendly, promptly got text confirmations of service date. Scheduler said although some personnel do both plumbing & electrical, they would send two separate people.

They arrived on time, were polite. The house was already empty as it was getting ready to be listed for sale, so there was nothing hindering their work. Plumber was good & kept me informed as to what issues he was running into, requiring a return visit the next day. He showed me what caused the original leak in spigot. I actually didn't have an issue with the plumbing project, and the cost was $300, which was about what I expected.

HOWEVER, the electrician was busy going up and down stairs to attic, didn't say a word about what he was doing. Two additional electricians arrived midway, and didn't really explain why they were there -- I thought the first one needed help with something. One of them asked me if I had a replacement fixture for outside, and I said no, but there was no further conversation. They cleaned up very well after themselves but never showed me what they had done, nor said anything, other than the office would send me a bill.

I almost fainted when I got a bill for $745 , in ADDITION to the plumber's bill for $300! They had run a new vent system in my attic, cut a new hole in the side of the house for it (which I didn't see until I opened attic days later), and replaced both outside lights without telling me they were doing so or giving me any option of what type they were installing. I would never have spent $70 just for a single light fixture for a house I am getting ready to sell!

I was very upset that I had no input or knowledge of what they decided to do, and when I called Borchelt to express my concerns, the person I spoke to said he was one of the electricians working there, and that their work order did not say to give an estimate, just to do the work. He said he couldn't do anything about the bill, just know for future reference (as if I would ever do business with them again!) that you have to specifically ask for an estimate. Why would the plumber tell me what he was doing and what options there were, yet the electrician(s) just decide to do everything without telling me?

So... all in all, $1,045 to install a faucet that I provided, replace a spigot, install a bath fan that I provided, and install two lights that I wouldn't have replaced had I known cost. And the icing on the cake was, they accidentally shut the gas off to my water heater, requiring a return visit this week to relight the pilot light (which they ""generously"" said would be at no additional cost).

Exceedingly disappointed in this outrageous bill and absolute lack of communication by their service providers. I see another review also citing the lack of communication, which I wish I would have seen before calling them. Never, ever would I recommend them!

Purchased new unit in 2013. Unit still under warranty. Called due to issue. Was told charge was 99.00 and we would be told if additional charge prior to any work. Tech went ahead and filled apparent leak however did not discuss prior to filling. Asked tech cost said they would bill me but this was just a service call. (That would be the 99.00) Air conditioner was not having a problem cooling. Was told did not have time to trouble shoot and would need to reschedule to come out and try to find the leak. Nondisclosure of fees is our issue at time of visit. Felt like being taken advantage of and several additional visits in store. When questioned on it and asking for a return call as felt shady was told would no longer service us and could contact another HVAC company that would cover warranty work for our unit. Send my husband email and never called to discuss. Company needs to get on same page with information given out. Just wanting to know cost prior to service.

Service was great. With the assistance of another contractor they found the leak without tearing up the entire kitchen. They were here 3?hours. Minimal mess or clean up after they left. The cost was lower than the estimate! I would hire them again.

I have been giving all my work to this company for over 30 years and today I made an emergency call at 4:00 am and no one called me back so I called at 8:15 am and the earliest they could come out would be Thursday, I am suppose to go without water until then. I will not use this company ever again.

I have used this company in the past, but this time will be my last. I asked for a quote for removing and replacing three toilets (new Kohler) and repair three faucets {kohler) and a insink erator garbage deposal. But they showed up to install and left a mess in two bathrooms, the kitchen faucet now leaks so bad that I can no longer use it (before they showed up, it was leaving water marks on the side. They did remove and install the new garbage disposal; however, they didn't install the new ring in the sink. I have called and left a message, but no reply at of yet. Will contact North Side Plumbing to fix their poor work. We were told the owner no longer comes out to provide estimates.

On September 26, 2018 I was at a car wash in Warsaw Indiana. Borchelt was there working on the car wash. All bays were empty and there were no cones blocking the bays. The pre-soak worked, then the wash. The wash started, but abruptly stopped. The cycle proceeded, but no rinse. The dryer dried all the soap on my vehicle. Borchelt shut the water off with cars in the bays. Dan assured me the owner of the car wash would take care of any issues and was initially rude. He could not recycle the car wash. I was concerned the dried soap and sun would damage my vehicle. He finally decided he would hose my vehicle off with hard water from the hose. I pulled out and tried to towel dry the vehicle, then went to another car wash and hand washed my vehicle. The dried soap did leave marks on my vehicle and $800 dollar bed cover. Dan did thank me for my patience before I left. This was totally incompetent. The bays should have had cones blocking the bays when working on the plumbing.

This is the second time I've needed plumbing services and W.C. Borchelt has answered the call promptly and professionally. The first time was a new water heater. The second time was cracked pipes. In both events they provided services the same day as called. Their prices are reasonable and technicians are top notch. I highly recommend W.C. Borchelt!
