Recently purchased a home in which repair work was completed to fix a leaking main shut off valve on the exterior of the home. We had to move a water line in the home and therefore turned off the exterior shut off valve off. Immediately once the valve was turned, the street line separated from the home and began to spew water everywhere. We called VT and have not received a call back (albeit after hours) so we had another plumber out as we had to turn off the street water line and did not have water to the home. During the repair they stated it appears the pipe was not cleaned properly prior to applying sealant and may have just been a recycled pipe due to the substantial algae growth. Therefore the pressure of turning the shut off valve immediately separated the connection. Pretty unfortunate to move into a new home and find this not even 2 months after initially repaired.
