Buyer Beware of pricing. They will come in for a clogged kitchen sink for $48 but then quote super high ($695).
They just threw in a dollar amount at you and hope it will stick. Since I was familiar with the repair cost as I'd paid it to another plumbing company before, I disagreed and they dropped it by almost half within five minutes. Such a scam!!
I called Vitobased on a google search and looking at the ""Best Picks ""Reports"" online site's almost 5 Star reviews. (I'm convinced that company's pay this site for posting all the good reviews plus a couple of mediocre reviews).
Now I know better to just go by Yelp's reviews.

This company ripped us off and insulted us. We were charged $726 for 20 minutes of work to replace a part that costs $15 and use our hose water. The technician also insulted my mom when he asked me to explain the bill to her due to her accent, even though she had no problem understanding him. We were grossly taken advantage of and discriminated against.

We had a broken AC this past Saturday and called to inquire how much it would cost to have someone come out same day. We were told $165 to which we agreed. The receptionist also asked if someone would be there to pay, which was a bit surprising from the start.

The technician Gavin came pretty promptly, without the 45-1 hour notice like was promised. Fine, we were happy he was there so quick.

He looked at our AC and within a few minutes he said there was an issue outside and that he was going to test it. He took out the dual capacitor and put in a new one, which took a few minutes. Then he asked us to bring him our hose and proceeded to water the AC for 5-10 minutes to ""cool the unit down."" That's it, he said. It was fixed.

He diagnosed and fixed the problem at the same time without letting us know ahead of time how much his services would cost. Since this was a 20 minute procedure at most and a simple part that was replaced, we figured it would be a reasonable cost and didn't question these actions.

Then he went out to his truck and sat there for a good 15-20 minutes to write up the bill.

My mom, the owner of the house, and I were the only ones in the house. When he came with the bill, my mom was ready for him to explain it but he asked her where I am so that I ""can explain the bill to her later."" This was completely insulting to my mom, who has an accent but had no trouble understanding Gavin at any point. She has a PhD and has been working in the US for 20 years with no language issues.

Gavin proceed to go over the total $726 bill with us. $726 for 20 minutes of work to replace the dual capacitor, a part that costs $15 (look it up), and use our hose water. The replacement of the dual capacitor was listed as $392. He also included a charge of $169 that he listed as ""repair mpt"" which he explained was for using our hose water to cool down the unit -- this is no special equipment and our own water for which we are paying. The final charge was $165 for the afterhours/emergency, to which we agreed initially.

On Saturday after the issue I sent an email to the team, I got no response, which I thought was understandable since it was the weekend. However, when my dad, who is away out of the country, heard about this issue and wrote a review, they proceeded to call him right away on Saturday to give him a lesson in capitalism and the market and tell him that the technician did everything correctly.

Everything you see as wrong with the system of overcharging people and discrimination against women and immigrants seem to be the values of this company. I would steer clear if you do not want to be ripped off and insulted like we were.

Last year I requested their plumbing services for a bathroom sink drain and a shower/bathtub drain. The installed bathroom sink drain stopper unraveled two months later. I had to fix it myself. Never again.

There are lots of plumbers who can snake out a toilet line... I manage a small office building in Bethesda, MD. A toilet was backing up in someone's office suite condo unit. I called Vito plumbing cause I saw their truck at the building once before. Their appointment operator promptly got someone to come right out after telling me that it would be a flat rate that would be proposed once the technician inspects the problem. If I agreed to the flat rate, there would be no further charge and that would guarantee the problem to be fixed. And if I didn't want to proceed, it would be a $90 inspection fee for their visit to the property. ""Paul"" the technician arrived and said the flat rate to clean out the line would be $650. He successfully cleaned out the drain with a heavy-duty snake and it took him between 1-2 hours after hooking up the equipment and getting the job done. The occupant put me on the phone again with Paul when all was finished. Paul then says, ""I'm gonna have to charge you a little more because it was a little more time involved."" He said the total would be $900+ (can't remember the exact though it was over $900). I told him abruptly, he and his company CHOSE to make it a flat fee - fixed contract price with me at the get-go rather than any sort of hourly rate. We agreed to that. What a bunch of shenanigans! Bad business indeed. I assume Paul was trying to see if I was stupid so he could get as much as he could from us to please the boss.. I would bet these guys are pushed heavily to maximize gross while good business ethics and honesty are of lesser importance. How disgusting, really. They're being paid over $300 an hour and they want more. Well, Paul quickly acknowledged that he told me $650 and that was the agreement, period! He didn't argue it further and $650 is what I paid. So, the conclusion is, be very careful with the big 'reputable' plumbing companies like Vito.. Watch out for their shenanigans and don't be played for stupid.. They are out to make as much as they can!

I had a great experience with Vito. They replaced my water heater.

Vito was the best price, they were good about follow-up, and they did the job without any trouble. Moreover, other contractors said they were not able to do the replacement because my water heater was in too tight of a space, but Vito was able to do it.

I called Vito and they quoted me a $40.00 service/diagnosis fee for my hot water heater which continued to shut off. I arranged for them to come ""first-call"" which is between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Their employee finally showed up at 10:20. He ""diagnosed"" the problem as needing a new thermocouple and after trying to sell me on a maintenance plan which I rejected quoted me $434.00. I felt that the quote was way too much for a part that I had researched and was much much less. He then charged me a $48.00 repair/diagnosis fee (not $40). I then called another plumber who did not charge me a ""service/diagnosis"" fee and after he tested the sensor he determined that it was a bigger problem. The baffle had rusted away and was not properly diverting heat which was causing the heat sensor to trip, thereby causing it to shut off. He showed me why the hot water heater wasn't working and explained in detail why I needed a new unit. Unfortunately, I needed a new hot water heater, but at least I didn't waste a lot of time and money dealing with Vito. When I called the company to complain about their employee showing up outside the appointment window and for charging me more than they quoted, they seemed very disinterested with the situation. My advise is if you call Vito, always, always get a second opinion and get them to provide you a written verification of the ""service/diagnosis"" fee.

Poor workmanship, and when you try to complain to management they don't respond. I had them out to replace the flange to my toilet bowl and supply line valve. They wanted about three times the amount any sane person would pay for a one-two hour job, but I had them replace the supply line and valve at least. Well, I came home from work and saw the absolute worse quality. See picture... the guy didn't even replace the rusty cover plate! So I called the company to ask them to come back out and fix it and they won't respond to me. The only thing worse than bad quality work is bad customer service.

I hired Vito Plumbing services to repair a leak in a bathtub faucet. The first time they came to look at it, the plumber didn't bring the right tools and told me I needed to buy a new faucet, and that we would come back to replace it. The second time, the same plumber replaced the faucet, but he left it still leaking, and didn't replace all the necessary parts. I had to call Vito again to get it fixed. The third time a different plumber came, fixed the leak, but now no cold water comes out of it. I have paid Vito $340 and the faucet still doesn't work properly.

I am a real estate agent so I deal with several licensed professionals in addressing home repair and/or remodeling issues. I actually came across Vito Plumbing after reviewing the Best Picks report and my experiences with them have turned out to be excellent. Bobby has been the plumber assigned to my jobs and he has consistently exceeded my expectations. He is knowledgeable, courteous, honest, efficient and overall a pleasure to deal with. I will use this company for all of my needs and recommend them, and Bobby, to all!

My furnace died just as the weather was getting cold! I called several places for bids, and Vito sent someone out right away. Of the three services interviewed, they were not only the least expensive (by a huge margin), they also offered a much wider range options for replacement. Their representative was knowledgeable and very helpful in guiding me through the possible replacements, and when they arrived to install, their technicians were consummate professionals and incredibly efficient on a day when time was a factor. I highly recommend them.
