Village Plumbing came to our residence twice in early January to seal a burst pipe that damaged a portion of our home. 27,000 gallons had poured into the bathroom and basement. I credit Eric, Jim and Cheryl at the phone at a quick turnaround to help restore Plumbing. We have used them 3 years ago to put in a new water heater. THEY ARE BY FAR THE BEST PLUMBING SERVICE TO USE!

These people have no qualms about fraud. Stay away. Absolute ripoff. Ignore this and you'll find out for yourself.

They were fixing a common building pipe, broke the wall in the unit and then left the broken wall open for a month +. This company does not care about honesty, values or ethics.

We had two leaky faucets and a laundry sink with a broken pipe. Eric came out and was very pleasant. Fixed both faucets and put in a new PVC trap in just under an hour. Was very professional and would definitely use them again.

Chuck came out today to install a new faucet in our bathroom. We just had a new granite counter installed so there was no plumbing to remove. He was here about 50 mins. He did a great job with the new faucet. I would recommend them. However, they charged me $226. I had all the parts but I guess needed a flex pipe for $28. Thought $198 in labor (one guy) was ALOT to spend for a faucet hook up in under an hour. I know plumbers don't come cheap, but cost should have been less. They do good work, but pricey.

We called Village Plumbing on a Saturday after noticing a pretty significant leak from our (15-year-old) water heater. We called and got the answering service, and they returned our call within 5 minutes. We received an estimate over the phone that was comparable to another estimate we got for the same type of water heater (50-gal. Bradford White), plus they got here within 20 minutes. Jim was professional and quick. Although we weren't planning on replacing a water heater today, what a relief it was to have it replaced so quickly.

We needed to replace water pipes and re-do our master bathroom. The new water pipes are actually beautiful - too bad no-one can see them now that the bathroom has been remodeled. They are a family plumbing business but served as great contractors coordinating the completion of the plumbing, carpentry, electrical, tile and custom cultured marble installation. They are really nice, everyone cleaned up really well and they were careful not to let our dog out when they had to go to the truck to get something. The job did take a while to complete because of the custom work but it is all quality work done at a fair price.

Have used Village Plumbing for our needs for years, and was shocked at my experience last night. I had a plumbing emergency (dead ejector pit pump and overflow into basement), and called the Village number. Their answering service took down my info, and let me know he would page the ""on call"" right away. After an hour with no contact, I called back, and he indicated he would try again. I held out hope that I would hear from them, mopping up and trying to keep up with shop-vac. Finally had to call someone else. I did get a call from them the next morning though - telling me that they have no emergency service and no on call. Will not use them again.

To be fair, other scheduled/planned work to date has been reasonably done, with only minor scheduling problems. I regret that this has put such a bad taste in my mouth that I will not use them in the future.

Have used Village Plumbing for both commercial and residential for years and they have always done an outstanding job, they return phone calls and show up on time. The best part of their service is they always take the time to analyze the situation and come up with the best solution for your pocketbook and the problem. Village will continue to get my business. 5 Star!

I felt the need to write this review in the midst of scheduling a service call after reading some of the negative reviews which are to my mind unfair. We moved to Glenview in 2001 buying a house that was going through its midlife crisis with lots of plumbing issues. We have used Village Plumbing almost exclusively since then including one of our renovation projects and find them to be professional, clean courteous and buttoned up. Work gets done on time and I have never had to call them to re-do something. They are always responsive to emergencies. I recently had them in to consult and provide corrective action in the midst of a kitchen renovation where the contractor's plumber had proven unable to correctly install a hot water dispenser I had purchased from Village Plumbing. They tend to be pricey as subcontractors on projects but after this kitchen project I'd pay a premium to have them do the job. Great folks to work with.

I am really, really bummed about what I experienced from this company today! We live in a 6 condo unit building in the city and we have been searching for a plumbing company that we can all use long term for the building's needs and our individual needs. Village was recommended to my by another friend that lives here that has used them for years on her place and some rental properties and she only had rave reviews about them! I called them this spring when our basement was backing up with sewage (gross) and they were professional, polite, courteous, on-time and they got the job done correctly and under a previous bid. We had agreed as a condo association to use them going forward!

Flash forward to me calling last week as I have a leak in my bathroom that is going down to my neighbors unit where I was told that someone would be by on Monday to check it out. No call, no show. I was so disappointed, but I'm busy with two kids and only got around to calling them again today and when I did, I was told that they don't really make it out to the city too much. I was shocked!! She said that they are all of the way out in Glenview...which of course, I knew as I had worked w/them previously. I asked if I should call someone else and was told that I would find work cheaper if I did, so I thanked her and hung up to dial a new company.

My search is back on for a lifetime plumber as Village is not it I'm very sorry to say!

I am, however, very happy to hear that in this economy Village Plumbing is doing so well that they can turn business away and I wish them the very best in their future endeavors!
