I founded Viking Handyman Service in 2017 as a solo venture. After spending 11 years in EMS, I realized I wanted to spend more time with my family. I pursued my HVAC certification and began managing maintenance departments for Hilton Hotels and various upscale apartment complexes. After some time, I made the decision to go after the American dream! Now, we operate as a small business with five committed staff members, looking to expand both our workforce and our customer base.
Zac brings extensive experience as a maintenance manager for major hotels like Hilton and various property management companies in Louisville. He has a wealth of experience in all areas of handyman services. He is HVAC certified and has proficiency in electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, and beyond!

Trisha L.I hoped this business relationship would be a great long term investment and asked them if they could take on bigger projects for me, after doing some small plumbing tasks and handyman fixes that were acceptable.
The final proposed project was replacing cellar doors.
My first mistake was paying for materials to be ordered that they ordered. It took 2 MONTHS to learn that the shipping of the doors has issues when the company they told me they ordered from's website stated 3-5 day delivery with SAIA delivery. Not Amazon. Then they told me that Amazon's driver lost/stole the parts and was fired because of it and they would be getting a refund and then refund me when they got it. I waited for that for 2 MONTHS MORE and then got nasty speech from the owner's wife when asked about the refund of my money. I hired someone in the mean time to fabricate and build the same cellar doors for a similar price and had it done before they ever got back to me about not giving me a refund.
I am very disappointed that I was spoken to like I was stealing from them and causing all kinds of problems when they owed me the money to make it right months ago. I will not use nor refer this company to anyone anymore.
Ken C.Hired this company to do a simple tile installation in two small bathrooms. They removed the old tile floor but did not haul it away. Left me with the mess to clean up. Promised several times they would haul it away and never did. The floors are still not done because I fired them. I would not have them back in my house. Total negative experience with this company.
The work Zac and his team completed was all very good quality work. I have no complaints there. I do have complaints about the professionalism of the operation. Melissa is wonderful and responsive. However, the first quote we got did not include half of the items we requested -- I even provided a written list when he came for the free estimate. Zac was over 2 hours late to our actual scheduled service day (no call to let us know, only an email...which I do not check or get notifications for every hour), at which point he still did not have any of the materials to complete the jobs and went to the store no less than 5 times during the day. Thank goodness we are charged by the job and not the hour! The man working with Zac, I believe his name is Dave, was a rock star and completed most of the work while Zac was at the store. However, Zac did not effectively communicate to his assistant (wife) the items being quoted after we met the first time. I am extremely detail oriented and did not misspeak about what I wanted done--again, even provided a written list. But when the team came that day to do the work, they told us it would be hundreds more dollars to do what I had originally requested and what we thought we had already been quoted for. This would have affected our decision to hire the team at all if we had known this cost difference. (We asked for the storm door and complete surround and threshold of the door to be replaced. They apparently only quoted us to replace the storm door.)
After all of this and finding a compromise that day that included some additional cost on our end and some loss of what we wanted done, Zac had one more item he needed parts for and said he would come back the next day. Melissa called before they had even pulled away to take our payment and told us he was not available the next day. Fine. We booked for a few days out but he did not show that day, and we did not receive a phone call. When we called a few days later after no response to our email, they said their computers were down (again, fine) and booked us for the next week. This time, the one job was completed on time and of course well.
They came out to see our plumbing issue and said they would send me a quote that night (Wednesday). I didn't get anything that night or the next day, so I called on Friday to ask if they would send the quote and they said they have been very busy, which I told them I understood. I didn't get anything that night, and no phone call returned when I called the following week. I was going to hire them because I liked the one atop shop idea, but they never sent me the quote or contacted me again.
I understand your right to choose your jobs, but then why say I would see a quote that night in my email, or when I called, why would you tell me it was forgotten and I should see it by Friday? Also there was never any letter sent to me through the mail. Just be up front.
So we had a large hole in the wall and contacted Viking handyman service. Zac, who without hesitation, responded and was extremely friendly and very informative about how the process would go. When he arrived and fixed the wall, he also covered some minor cracks that had nothing to do with what we contacted him for! Just out of the kindness of his heart! Our experience was quick, easy, affordable and I'll be sure to contact Zac from Viking Handyman service's again in the future! Wonderful experience!
