We will definitely make Veterans Plumbing out permanent plumber. I called on Wednesday and they came out Thursday morning. It was a fairly quick fix.

We had gotten shoddy work from another plumber, the cut off valve area leaked for the 4th time. So, instead of calling them back, we found the name of Veterans Plumbing from a local paper. They came quickly, told us the previous plumbers had used bad material, the cheapest glue, and hadn't put sand beneath it. So I asked them to fix it. They also said the pipe that went to the home from the cut off was a polybutylene pipe no longer made, that it disintegrated fairly quickly, and that they hadn't gone deep enough in the ground, to keep it from freezing. The first plumber's work was mixed in with septic, so I didn't know the exact amount for those 2 things. When Veterans Plumbing said 2,300 (and this was with a discount for being a veteran and a senior), I didn't know it was too much. We hadn't paid the first plumber yet, so were going to try to get the amount subtracted from what we owed them. Veterans Plumbing said they would back us up on the claims of faulty materials and workmanship to help us with this. We didn't realize they charged more than double on their fees until we asked them to put in a water pressure reducer, which they insisted we needed, and wanted to charge us over 800 to do it. Calling another plumber we were told that the average price for this was about 350. We canceled the job with them. Meantime, I'm getting ready to pay the first plumber, and Veterans Plumbing in Bonham Texas told them that there was nothing wrong with the piping, that we just wanted it buried lower in the ground. Time will tell if we get another leak at the cut off area, but I feel that Veterans Plumbing was deceptive with their information, trying to get us to let them do more work, and because of liying to us, they couldn't, (?) didn't back us up with the first plumber. Also I found out too late they aren't with the BBB.
