Honestly, the gruffness of the receptionist was enough to direct me elsewhere for service. I asked a couple basic questions and was already getting snarky, ""Well, like I said..."" and similar. I don't need attitude and was surprised to get it in a 1-minute phone call.

After making I dont even know how many calls on a Sat for emergency services with not one call back, I finally spoke to a live person at Kummers. While they were not able to provide emergency services she did say someone would call me first thing Monday morning. Sure enough my phone rang at 7:30 and someone was at my house by 8:15. Dwayne has been very nice, keeping me in the loop as to what he was doing and what my cost was going to be. I can not thank you enough for getting someone here so quickly when not one single ""emergency"" company even called me back.

my pipe froze, Chad said it was impossible to unfreeze, if not that, it was certainly below him and his superior skills to even attempt it. Then he bailed. After that my neighbor solved the ""impossible"" problem by doing the thing that was beneath Chad's superior skills: That is, crawling in there when it's In way cold. and putting a heater right next tpo the pipe. That's what ya do. But do not tell Chad. He'll tell you it's wrong and he knows everything - except for what my neighbor knows. That is, how to actually fix a hard plumbing problem, Do not even try to go here.

Had several issues. No communication. Attitude from plumber and receptionist. Recommend getting organized and working with your clients, so we know what you want/need from us. When I hire someone I expect results and for you to do your job and communicate prior to appointment. Wasted 3 months and nothing was done l. Got referred to another plumber, the plumbing is in and bathroom will be complete by Jan 18th. Took less then 2 weeks. Our time and your time was wasted. Highly disappointed.

We had a pipe leaking in our basement. John not only fixed the pipe, he even went under our deck to change the outdoor pipe, making it a permanent fix. The charge was fair and the plumber was polite and professional. Highly recommend Kummers.

Vern Kummer plumbing is wonderful to deal with. From the first call to their reception and follow up calls from them. The tell you when they will be there and show up when they say they will. Steve was very helpful, friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend their services.

We had quartz installed in our kitchen and bathrooms in a house we just moved to and needed the kitchen faucet and garbage disposal reinstalled and new faucets in the 2 bathrooms installed. We also wanted a high toilet installed. There was nothing wrong with old toilet so it wasn't like they had to fix a problem. We supplied toilet and faucets. When we called for the service they don't tell you pricing until the plumber comes and they have you because you need the installation. The plumber was only at our house 3 1/2 hours and our bill was over $1,200. Instead of an hourly charge like competitors they charged $199 per faucet and toilet and then we were charged a service charge of $65, another 199 for the little piping they used for the garbage disposal and 99 for a sink strainer so we were charged over $300 per hour-ridiculous! I called to complain and the lady gave me 10% off the bill but still paid 1,100. Asked to have the owner call me and I emailed him and received no response. We had this same thing done at our previous house 3 years ago by another plumber and they installed an extra bathroom faucet as we had 3 bathrooms and a laundry sink on top of what we had done this time and we paid $375. Called 2 other competitors who both charge by hour, and we would not have paid over $500 if we used someone else. I have never been so overcharged in my life-will NEVER use them again.

Avoid this Company at all costs!!

First off Vern Kummers' website has a claim plastered right on the front page...you can't miss it ""No Surprises"". Well I beg to differ and allow me to tell you the story of my experience with this dishonest, deceitful company.

UPDATE: I also checked this company out at angieslist.com and they have an even more ridiculous claim ""We always give a Straight Forward Price. That way you know exactly what the cost is going to be BEFORE any job is started.""


I called Vern Kummers on Friday April 20th to schedule an appointment for Thursday April 26th to look at a leaking faucet and I was directly informed over the phone that there is a $65 service charge to get someone out to my house to look at it and that if it is going to cost anymore than the service fee, the serviceman would inform me and provide me an estimate before performing the work. The serviceman, Tom i think it was, replaced a tiny little ring at the end of the hose inside the mouth of the faucet that could not have cost more than 50 cents. Then AFTER he had completed the work, that's right, not like I was told on the phone, not BEFORE he did the work, but AFTER it was completed he told me it's an additional $49! Yes that's right a $65 charge magically became $120 without ANY WARNING!!! Of course with the work already completed, my hands were tied, I had no choice except to write the check for $120+ tax.

I sure as hell hope they don't tell lies and deceive other people like they did to me. Do you know what they call deceit in business? It's called fraud. Look it up, definition 1b in Webster's dictionary: ""an act of deceiving or misrepresenting""

In summary this company is a complete and total rip-off

Hot water heater emergency! Called the service and left a message-got a call back before 8am the next morning. Vickie said Chad would be in the area, and get to us around 11. He was there by 10:45, and up and running by 11. His professionalism, knowledge and service were impressive. We are new to the area, and went on reviews for this company, and are VERY HAPPY we did. Chad was a pleasure to work with, and our new water heater is great. Pricing was very reasonable, and our unit comes with a warranty and yearly service. Am happy to provide this review-use this company!
