I had a very bad experience with them and I would warn anyone about using them and advise to seek help elsewhere.

They came out to assess and quote on an issue (a clog that caused water overflowing in other areas), they charged me a pretty large sum to fix a leak and run a snake to unclog my drain 1.5 hours worth of work that cost me $1200, which did not fully fix my problem. Now either they did not perform a good initial assessment or were trying to bait and switch me because after they finished the job the plumber stated that he saw another issue to replace a sewer pipe which would cost me an additional $2200. So now the total cost resolve all my issues would be $3400. (provided they don't find something else to charge me for.)

I asked another plumber what it would cost to perform the appropriate work to resolve these issues, and it came out less than half this price.

PLEASE seek multiple quotes, don not rely on what they tell you.

Scope of work:
We went with Verdugo Plumbing to 1. Remove/replace all cast iron horizontals sewer drains under the house to ABS (2 bathrooms and 1 kitchen), clean outs (including plaster), and replace a bathroom tub drain assembly (due to leaking); and 2. Put in a main sewer line sleeve from the front of the house to the city sewer line to protect our clay sewer line (included hydro jetting, digging a 4x4x4 hole, and replacing cutout part with ABS). The job took 6 days and cost $12.8k - $6.2k for under the house and $6.6K for sleeve (discounts with multi-work 10% and check payment 10%). Overall rating 3/5.

Scheduling and Communication 2/5: This area needs some serious work. The job was estimated at 2.5 days but took 6. With an 18 month old and working from home, this one one of the main reasons i went with Verdugo Plumbing since all the work required use to not use sewer drains during the work day and the amount of noise from cutting and banging. We got a text the Saturday before the work was going to start that one of their other jobs was not ready to start on Monday and they could start ours. Monday: 2 guys come for 2 hours to cut the plaster and measure and done for the day at 11am. Main worker says he'll be back tomorrow late morning. Tuesday around 1pm I text owner and he tells us they are not coming today (we planned around them coming this day). They took on another job and it was more complicated than they thought (glad my $13k of work isn't priority). Wednesday: 1 guy doing the work and owner stopping by for a little bit. Thursday 3 guys (1 digging hole for sleeve and 2 under house). Friday same 3 guys and the sleeve crew for no more than 2 hours. Pipes all done. Saturday plaster guy to fill in clean out holes. Unfortunately, communication problems (he had to keep calling his boss so I can talk to him in English) and the original number of holes he was plastering was not straightforward. Overall, if the crew made this a priority I believe they could have turned this around in 2.5 days, but instead they sprinkled the work across the week which was not okay from what they estimated.

Playing a game of ""telephone"" everyday between what the lead worker was telling me versus what the owner was annoying as well. Owner telling me he would work around giving us sewer line access for Thursday and Friday (exhausted our child care options at this point) versus workers not prioritizing this communication by owner. We made due but this was not fun.

Work 4/5: Only focusing on the work, it was good. The pipes under the house, clean outs and main sewer line sleeving look like the job was done by people that know what they are doing. My only advice is double check their work before they complete the job. Ours includes removal/disposal of the sewer pipes under the house. I check under the house on Friday before they were done and saw a bunch of pipes they were just going to leave..not okay. Told them and one stepped up (thanks Bill), got his bunny suit on, and got the rest of the pipes out. Also got a text from owner on Saturday that work was completed and I can pay the rest of the amount due. He didn't even know there was still a stack of cast iron pipes that needed to be removed! Crew came Sunday and picked them up.

I've used Verdugo Plumbing several times now, from simple snaking to full on new main water line and sewer lines. They are prompt and responsive and fair estimates. The workers hustle and are professional, and Ed is a great guy to give you the best advice about how to fix your problem to avoid future issues.
