I would definitely recommend Sean from Ventura Home Repair to do any of your home maintenance. I used Ventura home repair for some plumbing work, closet doors installation, and dryer vent cleaning. He was prompt, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Sean did a great job with all repairs and I will be sure to use him again.

Really great service!! I contacted Ventura Home repair via yelp to fix a broken closet rack. Christy contacted me shortly and was able to set me an appointment that worked best for my very complicated schedule. Highly Recommend!! ""Quality Contractor Work at Handyman Prices"" from his website is totally true. He's knowledgeable, thorough, efficient and tidy. We gave Sean a list of installations and repairs needed in our new-to-us home, including cabinet and pull-out drawer installations and two electrical repairs. If you are looking for somone to work on your house- I HIGHLY recommend this company. Over the course of the past year or so, I have had Sean perform many jobs on my house, including replacing the gas shutoff valve, performing electrical work, fixing a plumbing problem in my shower, and replacing all of my sinks and toilets. He was upfront about exactly what it would cost and was very timely with completing the work. He did excellent work on everything he did and unlike others I have hired in the past, I could tell that he really takes pride in his work- which is pretty rare these days! He really cared about my needs, what I wanted to get done, what the end results should look like, and that the work was done correctly so I did not have to re-fix something. I was very impressed and will hire him again in the future! Since he charges very reasonable prices, I will also look at hiring him for smaller type jobs as well so that I know it will get done right...

WARNING!!! Do not do business with Sean because he will rip you off!

First impression was good. A husband and wife business. Originally we had Sean out for a quote on closet door track installation. He suggested new doors instead of using old beat-up track for various reasons. Ok, so we talk about some other possible jobs for him to possibly tackle another time among other various topics not on the subject of home repairs that were of a personal nature (no big deal because he is a friendly guy and trying to drum up some business). So, after him spending some time at our place I start to feel bad for him that he spent so much time chatting and wasn't getting paid, so I offered him a simple task that I did not feel like dealing with at the moment. It was a trial/test of the services before I committed to hiring him for a couple bigger jobs. I am glad I did because I feel that he ripped me off.

I should have known he was crooked when the work was complete and he asked me if I wanted an invoice. Good thing I did.

The simple task of running out and getting the materials to completing the installation of a tension shower bar and a tub spout we were charged for 2 hours and told that he cut us a deal on the time. Materials were $45 dollars but he provided no receipt of the purchase. When asked about a receipt I was told that I could return the stuff and get store credit, ok. So knowing this amount for material sounded high we went to the store and priced out the items. Low and behold the items with tax included did not come out to $45 dollars, busted! If you try and say Sean that the other amount was to cover your piece of sand paper that you ripped off a roll you bought prior to this job or the little dab of silicone grease you used from your personal stash of lube, then I would assume those costs were included in the $40 dollar and hour rate you charged me to drive home and pick those materials up.

Consumers Beware! Your motto should be instead ""Overpriced handyman with a contractors license"". Hope it was worth it.

Last year I moved into a rental home that had many problems! The homeowner hired Sean at Ventura Home Repair. He repaired and replaced many things including the water heater and the kitchen sink, he addressed numerous plumbing issues, replaced all locking doorknobs with new ones and re-keyed them to all work with one key! Sean was professional and thorough and I felt comfortable having him work in my home. I would recommend his service to anyone in need of major or minor repairs!
