Recommended Customer Reviews
Due to age, I decided to replace my heating and air conditioner last year. I have used Vaughan for many years to service my old system and used them to get my 3 estimates before selecting a contractor. They were not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Jeff was willing to meet with me several times to respond to all my questions. The contractors who did the service was very professional and followed are all Covid protocols. I was very happy I chose them to update my system. I have also noticed a savings in my utility bills. Finally they have an excellent customer service staff.
Scheduled an appointment for furnace maintenance. Alton called ahead to let us know exactly when he would be here. Alton serviced the unit, when completed he provided me with a report of what he checked and a possible problem for the future that he notated for the next check. I also raised a potential future issue with our A/C and Alton provided a thorough response. Contrary to some other reviews, there was no upsell or push for unneeded services. Overall, as usual, I was very satisfied with the service provided.
jeff b.AC broke today and They came to the house a few hours later. Quickly found a water leak sensor issue and fixed it. Very good service
Great experience with Vaughn. They worked me in for a same day appointment for an air conditioning failure. Rocco arrived about 4 hours after I called the company. He did an outstanding job diagnosing and fixing the system quickly. Previously, our home warranty company had done some work on the system, but they didn't bother to clean it out or remove obstructions / vegetation that had gotten into the unit.
Initially, I was a little apprehensive about the $95 charge for the service call. But, since it was the height of the summer season and they promised a full diagnostic, I opted to schedule for the earliest appointment. I am really glad I did. Rocco found a burned wire, cleaned the coil and removed the debris. Big lesson learned for me -- you get what you pay for. The system was up and running and producing cold air in less than an hour.
Huge thanks to Rocco and Vaughn Services!
We made the mistake of replacing a working central unit at the same time we replaced a bad heater. We have had nothing but problems with the central air. Unfortunately we are going to have it again with another company. Vaughan has made us realize how little they care about keeping our business!!! What a waste of money and time!!!!
Treena R.Prompt, professional service by courteous people. Everything we needed was addressed and taken care of. Vaughn professionals attention to detail far outweighed their competitors. Superior service by company with long standing reputation which they lived up to.
Always courteous and knowledgeable, everyone I have dealt with at Vaughan want to ensure their customers are happy. There are many choices in this field and customer service is what sets them apart.
John D.Staff and technicians are courteous and knowledgeable. I have a leak in my evaporator coil, but it was only identified by the second technician (Anthony). The first technician added over 3 pounds of refrigerant but never suspected a leak. When Anthony came out one year later, all the refrigerant leaked out so I had to pay for 8 pounds of refrigerant. I just wonder if I could have saved a couple hundred dollars in refrigerant by having the leak detected by the first technician. Other than that, great service.
Bottom line: Condenser in my heater was leaking. Contacted Vaughn and they were out in less than 24 hours. The problem was corrected at a reasonable price.
I can't even rate Vaughan even one star. My experience was truly a nightmare. I have never had a problem with my air conditioning unit in the 10 years that I have lived in my home. The company that used to service my unit sold out to Vaughan. Actually my first encounter with Vaughan was in the winter when I tried to switch over and schedule a heater service visit, and they couldn't accommodate me. I used someone else who was quite good as a matter of fact. But when it came to this spring I thought I would try Vaughan again to service the air conditioner. This time, sadly, they showed up. They serviced the unit, but also gave me the hard sell on buying into one of their special service plans. I fell for it and signed up for the Gold Plan. Two weeks later my condensation pump leaked. They sent a service person out who trimmed the pump hose. Two weeks later the pump started leaking again on a Monday night. I had to run down to the cellar every two hours to dump the bucket. The service person came out the following day at 1pm even though I told them I had a handicapped sister and that I had a Gold Membership. He gave me a lot of double-talk about what was wrong; told me I needed a new pump and hose and installed the new pump that was now wired to the unit plate with a copper hose, which I have never seen...AND...tried to tell me that I would be needing a new unit. (I must also add that every time someone came out to perform a service they tried to sell me something). It took him close to two hours to complete the work, and made me late for an appointment. I left as soon as he did....and I was charged for the work. When I returned home three hours later, my sister's companion told me that unit had not gone on at all, and in temperature in the house was 84 degrees. It was now after hours and when I called and tried to get through to the COLOSSALLY STUPID and ARROGANT people at their call center -located in TEXAS!!! -- they were obstinate and unhelpful. After threatening them with a lawsuit should my handicapped sister have a seizure due to the intense heat that night and lack of air conditioning, they located the ONLY after hours technician on call. I explained my plight and he told me that he was backed up and would get there as soon as he could. He arrived around 9pm and was hampered in his repair work by having to work in the dark. After two hours he announced that the unit was burned out and he could not fix it. I was livid.
I had to call another emergency air conditioning service company who were angels and arrived within a half hour of my call. And finally at 11:30 that night I had my unit fixed. I was told what I already suspected -- that 1) the so-called repair work caused my circuit board to burn out. Vaughan's so-called repair person should not have used copper tubing and should not have wired the pump to the circuit board. And as it was, the circuit board is considered a universal board that is easily replaced and stocked (the lovely rescue repair technician -- certified by the way) said that he had five of the circuit boards on his truck.
A footnote to all of this was that my sister sitting in extreme heat for six hours did have two seizures that night.
I called Vaughan's voice mail demanding a full refund (and I stopped payment on the check to Vaughan that I had written that afternoon).
I will say that the owner did call me back first thing the following morning, and at first tried to offer me some kind of compensation. I made it perfectly clear that all I wanted was my full refund, which he agreed to, and I said that the pump that they installed better work for the rest of the summer or they will be hearing back from me. So far, there have been no further problems. If the pump continues to hold through, I am hoping I have had the last dealings with Vaughan Air Conditioning and Heating.
I am warning any future customers to avoid them. They are not in the business of servicing. They are hack sellers. All they want to do is sell you product.
My nightmare with them is hopefully at an end.
Steer clear of them
