I imagine that Rod could use a scheduling assistant to solve the problems that we experienced. Rod was very helpful and kind while on the job. It felt like he went the extra mile during the consultation and on the first day he did work for us. His prices were competitive, he was informative and his work seems good. We are still waiting on a part for the washer that he was going to drop by about a month ago. While he is kind, skilled and informative, his communication around re-scheduling was a challenge for us as well. While we can't give Vanguard a 5 star rating I think he deserves at least a 3 star for the work he did. We are still hopeful that one day Rod will drop the part by the house for our washing machine!

Very disappointed in our last experience with Rod. Because he has fixed a few things for us in the past with no issue, this recent situation came as a surprise. Having ""fixed"" the dishwasher and shower late in the evening, we paid him and he said we could get in touch if we have any issues. Of course the next day the dishwasher and shower continued to have problems. For the following 4 days, Rod would tell us he was on the way, only to give an excuse for not showing or just ignoring our texts and calls. Very unprofessional. I left work early multiple times in order to be there to let them in the house. Don't waste your time and money.

Pricing was competitive, and there were no surprise charges. Plus, Rod actually worked later than he had to (later than we had agreed on), to insure we had hot water for the evening.

Rod attempted to fix a shower head that was dripping for me. He did something wrong making my shower unable to get hot water. After making several appointments with him to fix it, that he never showed up for. I hired another plumber that found a water leak. Rod left a broken O ring on my shower value causing a leak in my wall. so not only did he install the shower cartridge upside down he caused a water leak in my shower. Do not use vanguard plumbing as they cause more problems than they fix. They also make so many appointment and never show up.

Rod came to my house to replace bath tub fixtures. I had to take a few luke warm showers for a few days because he did something wrong with the install. His father came over to make the adjustments so I could have hot water. I then discovered the vent hose from my dryer was no longer hooked up. (Rod had pulled out the dryer to access plumbing.) I texted every day for a week and had a phone conversation to try to get the dryer hooked up properly. He told me numerous times that he would come to my house to reattach the dryer and never showed up. Granted, Rod had been ill but that no one from Vanguard Plumbing was asked to return to finish the plumbing work is absolutely unacceptable. $1,400 for a job with a mistake and uncompleted? I recommend finding another plumber.

We have had a very negative experience with Vanguard Plumbing. Rod Staehle did some work on the drainage for our dishwasher. We have continued to have problems.

Vanguard claims to warrant their work for one year. We have scheduled with Rod to come back out five (5!) times and he has not shown up once. Four of those times he flat out stood us up with no notification that he wouldn't be coming.

When my wife called the company and spoke with Steve, the owner, he claimed he would follow up with Rod. He never called us back and was rude to us when we called him to follow up.

Vanguard has shown no commitment to their work and zero respect for our time. I would never recommend them.

Irresponsible owner. I scheduled to have a service done but no one showed up. Called them many times and no one picked up my call. I waited for 6 hours at home and finally received a call from them. They just said sorry, they couldn't make it. That was it.

Had some plumbing work that needed to be done after moving into an older home with some corroded, leaky, out of code, and Frankenstein-like DIY pipes. Vanguard Plumbing was able to come out quickly to assess the situation and provided a fair estimate to get the job done ASAP. The team was even able to do some extra work I had decided would be good to take care of the day they came out! I'll be using Vanguard Plumbing in the future when I need to replace that old water heater and toilet very soon!
