He did a great job for us today, and was very friendly and professional. Our toilet was overfilling and needed the float mechanism replaced. He fixed it quickly and also checked the toilet over to make sure there weren't any other problems. The toilet now works again *and* runs more quietly. Would definitely hire again!

I always appreciate when someone shows me how s/he arrives at conclusions instead of just telling me the results. Jan did that -- I called to have my sewer lines checked, and he talked me through the entire process and let me watch the camera monitor for the entire 91 feet of old piping I have going out to the main sewer. He also gave helpful explanations on what can cause problems, and how to avoid them. Super informative! He also took the time to answer any plumbing-related questions I had (even those unrelated to the initial issue that he came to resolve). Highly recommend Vanguard and Jan for any plumbing issues.

Called them Columbus day morning as we had sewer water leaking into our downstairs hallway and bedroom. Diagnosed the problem and priced over the phone. George came out within 1 hour and did great work. Not only did he replace the burnt out pump but he put he out right the original work (our place is a year old) done by the developers plumber. Would give 6 stars if I could!

Wanted $250 to replace a simple stop valve for a toilet which costs at most $7 retail - at push a 10 minute job. The building even shuts off the water so would not even have to do that. Of the several plumbers approached for quotes this was over $100 more than anyone else charged.
Edit - In highlight of your response, I did slightly exaggerate. The person was in fact here for 15 minutes (as I distracted them talking about football). So you would have charged an effective rate of $1,000 per hour, vs the company who attended and charged $120 for 15 minutes. I'll let people come to their own conclusions on your rates.

George from Vanguard just left my home. He quickly identified the problem, had all the materials in his truck and finished the job in under an hour. They quoted me a reasonable price for the first hour to identify the problem, and applied that to the cost of fixing my leaking hose. Overall, a job well done.

Vanguard was the fourth plumber I called this morning, and the first that could get my sink fixed today. Instead of on site quotes from the other businesses I called, Vanguard gave me an exact price after I sent in some pictures. Everything was done two hours after I called. The whole process was as quick, transparent, and easy as I could have hoped for.
