Wallace at Van Allen did an excellent job helping us in a difficult plumbing situation at our business this week.
He was professional, responsive, efficient and pleasant to work with.
I would highly recommend him to other business owners and individuals.
Thank you very much for your good service!

I called my home warranty to get a clogged pipe fixed and they dispatched Van Allen. Seemed like an alright company from the first conversation, but that changed quickly. On the day the tech was supposed to show up early, he was 3 hours late so we had to take the full day off work. I explained to the guy where the clog was and the best approach to clearing it without bursting the pipe, as I told from a certified plumber for 30 years. The tech completely ignored anything I said, and began to shove a snake down the drain, which we had already done multiple times. He more or less couldn't control this snake and broke through the pipe. He quickly leaves and says he will be back on monday. So I am left with a busted pipe leaking all water ran in the house out of it with not a single offered solution. I called Mike, which I think is the supervisor and I was told that it wasn't his responsibility to check my pipes and that he was in a ditch at the moment and that he didn't have time this so I called the owner. He said that the age of the pipes was why it broke but I am still confused why they would snake it if they knew it was old. He still insisted it wasn't his fault. So I am stuck with a gushing pipe all weekend and no help to fix it. I called my home warranty and refused to have them come back but they insisted it was best to have them return and fix it. All Van Allen plumbing had to do was open a drain cap and unclog a pipe and now they have been more of a headache than a help. Money Hungry much Mr. Van Allen? Couldn't pay some bills so you rack up a nice bill to charge my home warranty?

American Home Shield dispatched this company to replace my gas water heater. The tech arrived very quickly and submitted info the required to AHS including the significant cost to bring new heater up to code, a non-covered insurance expense. I inquired of the tech delivering the water heater what the process was for their work to be inspected post installation by the City of Reno, as a permit is required to install a gas fueled appliance and was told that wasn't needed and it wouldn't be inspected. I was also trying to understand why they were configuring the plumbing a particular way and was told by the tech it was too complicated to explain and Mike (the owner??) would call me to explain the situation. When Mike didn't call and the techs were proceeding, I asked to speak to Mike. The tech then called him and I could hear Mike on the phone telling the tech it wasn't a convenient time to talk to me so I left the area and went upstairs to my kitchen. A few moments later the tech appeared and gave me his phone to talk to Mike. While trying to ask my question, Mike told me that he had gone out of his way to get my installation done quickly and I was being a ""pain in the ass."" I hung up the phone and tossed the phone back to the tech who went downstairs. I then realized they were leaving my house and removing their water heater and Mike had directed them to get out. I apologized to the tech for my frustration and tossing the phone back to him, but also said I though his boss has been rude. They said they were leaving and in the process of pushing the water heater through the door, managed to leave a nice big gash in my doorframe woodwork. I believe as a homeowner if I'm being charged $750 to bring a new gas water heater up to code, I have a right to understand their process of doing that and that in the end it passes inspection.

Heard water rushing in my bathroom wall and saw some trickling out of my light fixture (never a good thing), so I immediately shut off the water and then contacted Van Allen Plumbing. They sent someone out first thing the next morning to find and repair the leak. Turns out a mouse had chewed into my hot water hose line!... Van Allen was fast, friendly, professional, and affordable. I'll definitely be calling them next time I have a plumbing issue.

These people are great! Mike and Josh did a great job installing our new water heater! The only issue I would have is the business itself seems a bit disorganized, but perhaps it's just the time of year and being really busy, I would use them again. Also thanks to Wallace, it was a pleasure doing business with you, Mike, and Josh.

We recently purchased a home that was about 20 years old that had a number of plumbing issues: leaking drains, toilets not working properly, malfunctioning kitchen faucet, broken disposal, plus a few other items. the folks at Van Allen was very prompt in returning phone calls and scheduling repairs. The cost was extremely reasonable and the work excellent. An extremely professional operation all the way around. I highly recommend them.

I have to say Van Allen plumbing is great! I called and spoke with a nice gentleman, he was able to give me a time frame that they would be able to stop by and it was the same day I called.
When they stoped by they looked at the problem that I had and gave me quote that was fairly priced, I defiantly expected it to be more!
The two gentlemen who came out were very polite and knowledgeable. They also let me know what caused the problem so I can try to prevent this problem in the future.
I would highly suggest them to friends and family!

Called these guys to replace my water heater because of the great reviews on Google. They were quick to respond and were available right away, (which is the only reason I gave 1 star) but, the work was shoddy at best and they didn't do what was agreed to(the main water shut-off valve still requires a ladder to access and the handle is tight up against the wall). The original verbal estimate included making the shut-off valve easily accessible. They also tried to charge me for a premium pressure regulator that was ""out of stock"" and wasn't installed. Additionally, I noticed that my Shop-vac, with a new bag and HEPA filter, had water dripping from the hose when I went out to check on the progress. They said they ""assumed I was using it as a wet-vac"" and felt free to utilize it in the job. So, I spent way too much for sub-par work.
These guys are hacks, at best.

Super frustrated. Through Old Republic Warranty I had been in contact with this business. He called, he was cordial, set up appt for a couple days later. Never showed up , never returned my calls. I called OR they transferred me to someone else. That person hasn't returned my calls. Now I have guests coming to stay and they will have to listen to the toilet run off and on all night and there's nothing I can do about it. I think if you forget an appt the least you can do is call and apologize.

If there was a lower rating than one star this company would earn that. They have come out to my house three times sent by my Home Warranty company and they will never set foot in my house again. For a company that claims to be a 24/7 emergency company you can never get ahold of anyone. They say that they will be back in contact with you within 24 hours. That never happens.
We had a trip planned so we my son on standby in case they came over. When we never heard from them, he went to work. When they finally called if I didn't have someone there when they wanted they would have to try to reschedule so my sons had to leave work and lost pay. They came out and looked at the water heater, left and then we never heard from them again for a couple of days. And only because I constantly kept dialing numbers until someone finally answered.
They sent Gabe out and really, who taught him to be a plumber. He has no customer service skills and evidently no plumbing skills. We had to bring out another plumber to fix their shoddy work. We had no option on the replacement so we received a cheap replacement that they picked up from Home Depot instead of what we wanted. If only he would of listened. He would of had to get off the phone from whoever he was talking to, to actually pay attention to me.
According to the second plumber they left several code violations in their work and possibly sediment in the line cutting out water pressure.
I am not sure there is a Van Allen in Van Allen plumbing but he should be ashamed to put his name on their vehicles and let people know they are on the job.
