Our founder, Larry Mapes, has over 35 years of experience in solar energy. During this time, many regions experienced a solar DE-Renaissance, while Northern New Mexico remained at the forefront of advanced solar technologies, as it continues to be.

The town of Taos is a special area for solar energy due to its abundant sunlight and diverse architecture. This dynamic setting has provided our founder with a deep understanding of what works and what fails over a prolonged duration in challenging climates. These extensive observations have proven crucial in designing and installing trustworthy solar installations and the best methods for integrating solar energy into each application.

Larry Mapes, has 35+ years of experience in solar energy and currently holds electrical contracting, mechanical, and general contracting licenses in the state of New Mexico, as well as various journeyman certifications for residential and commercial applications. He is a NABCEP credentialed solar thermal installer.

He is also a charter member in the NABCEP committee for solar thermal, and a technical committee member for the Solar Energy Code (an international code by IAPMO), his knowledge continues to help set industry standards for the renewable energy field. His policy work within the State of New Mexico has also given him a valuable insight on overall energy policy.
