I am so happy I found and was able to hire Urban Mechanical through Yelp! My building requires COI and Plumber License and dealing with them to get these was easy and fast. Their prices are very reasonable too. Robert came to do the work and he was punctual, very professional and courteous; he removed and replaced my kitchen faucet and a shower head, replaced a part in the toilet and installed a new bidet wand taking the time to show and explain some details. I will certainly use his services again and highly recommend him and Urban Mechanical to anyone!

I can't say enough good things. These guys are prompt, easy to work with, honest, reasonable, patient, and their work is fantastic. AND they're licensed - which a lot of ""plumbers"" on Yelp aren't.

I had a long back and forth with them about how to remove a radiator and the best way to cap it off (above floor vs underneath) and they walked me through the pros and cons of each so I could make the right decision for our home.

They also installed a faucet and drain for me and did a great job there too.

I will definitely be hiring them again in the future.

Hired Urban Mechanical to install a Miele dishwasher that AJ Madison delivered but wouldn't install because of an old copper supply line. They got it done in 1.5 hours and charged $450 including hauling away the old appliance. Honestly not sure if that is a good deal, but a few other shops quoted me higher so I'm inclined to think that it is a fair price. They were very responsive through the entire process which I appreciated.

I had contacted other plumbers, and most were unfamiliar with my Grohe, a German-made shower that is pretty complicated. A few wanted me to start paying them hourly from the moment they sat in their car! No other contractor has that attitude, but many NYC plumbers do, and I don't get it. Their fees are $220-$270 per hour on average, and if they get stuck in traffic for 3 hours, which is NYC's daily life, then I owe them around $750 BEFORE they set foot in my apartment! So, I tried something for the first time, which was hiring through Yelp. I found a plumber with a Yelp badge, which covers the client up to $2500 through Yelp guarantee (it's some kind of insurance). Then Yelp asked me if sending my job to other eligible businesses was okay. I accepted, and the original plumber could not come to my area, so Urban Mechanical was one of those who contacted me through Yelp. I never hired someone off of Yelp with no reviews, and Urban Mechanical didn't have any. But I hired them ONLY because it was through Yelp. I also appreciated that Rob was super helpful and professional and would immediately get back to me through yelp chat. My building requires COI, and he provided it immediately. He gave me a fixed price, which was reasonable and came once last week, but we found out that one of the parts was the wrong one (I had my own parts). Without any attitude or, giving me a hard time or taking advantage of the situation and raising the price, he kidneys said that its ok he'd come back. He returned today, finished the work, and did an excellent job. He is my go-to plumber from now on.
