I had a great experience with Uptown Renovations. Very professional company. My advice is be organized and set expectations from the beginning. Be prepared to pivot if the supply chain causes issues. They are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Mike is a straight shooter, he knows his stuff. Fernando is exceptional and fantastic to work with!!! And yes, I know my flooring needs to be replaced. That will be my upcoming project with Uptown Renovations.

I have been thinking for a long time about writing a review after my nightmare experience. Since mike the owner has no integrity and will not be fixing the issues or giving me any refund, I decided saving even one single mother from hiring him and letting bad people into her home; is worth it. He is a poor contractor with little skill himself. The people he has come into your home are completely reckless and had no respect for my home, belongings, or for the new floors being installed. They came a half day late the first day without tools and even had to borrow my screwdriver and ruined the tip. They took two hour lunches and came whenever they felt like it (never working long) and had no concern for my autistic teenager I had to keep out of the house everyday to allow them the full day to work every day. They put holes in my walls, broke a door frame, damaged my guitars and even damaged the laminate, and cut it poorly in many places. The saddest part was Mike with his lollipop guild smirk took their side every time and claimed I must be a liar and there was no proof they did anything wrong. He even asked for a CSI breakdown of what happened to my guitars when I wasn't the one who did it so how can I do replay? Like a homeowner would damage her own belongings etc??? to be treated like this, it was not only hurtful and wrong but God knows what those men did in my house and the hours I cried over the stress of Mike and his gaslighting about it. After I told him he must not let them back in my house he came to finish but was very quick and careless. He left all the quarter rounds nailed with wrong nails and chipped or cut wrong and badly caulked. Any part that was cut wrong he just poured caulking in and didn't take time to do new pieces. It looks terrible in many spots including my front door and side door which he either doesn't have the skill to do or didn't care to do right. He also stood over me as I sat in kitchen with my purse waiting for his money making sure I gave him what he wanted. To get that jerk out of my house was my main concern at the time and I gave him more money than he should've gotten. I would not recommend him or the three men he used for any residential job. Unless you want to be called a liar and told to not care about ""the little things"" even though your house looked better before new floors because the work was done right prior. He is a not a good person of good enough character to care about a client or the truth or making a job be done right. Beware. Every day I have to think about it because my front door is one of the worst parts and I was robbed of good money that I will have to spend again for someone to come fix these things. He has no issues taking way too much money for a bad job. He shouldn't be working with people under any circumstance and is probably in the wrong field, unless you like your doors not to open and shut as a solution to a badly done doorway. I can go on but there's no need. Just never pay him in full until you get it the way you want, and have video cameras ready to prove anything because he won't even believe a client after his men leave new floors damaged. His sad excuse of three hundred off for entire job including guitars which alone cost that much to fix is a joke. Oh yeah. He also didn't bother to measure anything but go off someone else's estimate. So I had tons of laminate to load by myself and take back to store and had to buy things he said in his estimate he'd provide. Yeah I could keep going. Be very aware!!!

The best contractor and renovation experience ever! Mike made it so easy and reliable that im only using him from now on. The response and care was excellent, the estimate process was super easy, scheduling the work was a piece of cake and the actual install was clean, quick, easy and professional. Never had the actual contractor show up and help do the work to make sure its done right until now, major wow factor and felt like we were well taken care of!

Mike is so professional, trustworthy and reasonable. He can pretty much do everything: He did touch up, patch work and paint at my business. He was quick and got it done! He also built a custom make up/vanity table for me. It's beautiful. He also helped with some electrical light issues I had in my home.

I normally don't write reviews (I think this is my second, ever), but I had such a great experience with Uptown Renovations that I feel it would be a shame to not let the community know.
As a bit of background, I've had terrible experiences with contractors. First off, they are never on time...never! So imagine my surprise when Mike was actually on time to our first appointment, and he was on time for every other appointment we ever scheduled. If you ever worked with a contractor in the past, you know this unimaginable, but it's true! I wouldn't believe it if it didn't happen to me, but I swear, Mike is punctual. He's also honest and excellent at what he does.
Mike wasn't the cheapest quote we obtained to remodel our kitchen, but his level of expertise was immediately apparent and the materials he proposed to use were far superior to the less expensive contractors who bid the job. Also, the cheaper guys were very sketchy, unlike Mike who I had no problem having in my home when nobody was there. Though not the cheapest, Mike's bid had the most value and he came in at budget (literally to the penny). No unforeseen complications, he did what he said he would do at the cost he promised to do it for. And his work is extraordinary.
Mike has literally built houses from the ground up, so he knows what it takes to do a job right, the first time. He also knows his craft. He made a number of excellent design recommendations that really made the outcome so much nicer than we had envisioned. Mike understands the value of finer details, and will deliver finely crafted work. He is more than a contractor on a job, he is a true craftsman who takes pride in his work. I'm so fortunate to know Mike, I will definitely use him for any future project. Now if I could only find a reputable and honest car mechanic...

I called Uptown Renovations for a small bathroom remodel. Mike was very reliable and was there when he said he would be. After Mike was done with the job everything was cleaned up nicely. I am very happy with the job Uptown Renovations did and I would highly recommend them. I have more projects to be done and I will be calling Uptown Renovations to complete them

Mike has done a great job on my projects and here is a list of some of the work he has completed for me:

He has done tile repair work on existing tile floors. A new tile backsplash in my kitchen with an Arabesque shaped tile that was very difficult tile to work with and it turned out great. New hinges and door knobs on all my interior and exterior doors. He has replaced the screen in my sliding door after my Mom walked through it. New recessed lighting in my living room. He changed out all the electrical plugs and plate covers in the entire house. Installed ktichen and bathroom plumbing. Removed the drop down ceiling and flourescent lighting in my kitchen and bathrooms and replaced with recessed lighting. Removed a 1970's shower surround with a new fresh white version. He is now going to be starting a project of building me a replica of a shelving unit that I saw at a high end store

I highly recommend Mike, he is a nice guy, dependable and honest.

I cant say enough about Uptown Renovations! The owner, Mike, is an incredibly honest, reliable and efficient builder! He answers his phone, turns up when he says he will, and gets the job done!
I had initially called Uptown Renovations due to a copper pipe leak in my living room which completely ruined my floors & walls. I was horrified at the thought of what it was going to take to put it right. Mike got the job done and got me back to normal in no time at all! I have since used them on other projects around my home and have been equally pleased with the results. Job big or small, give him a call!
