I have used Universal Plumbing for several years on multiple projects on rental properties and family homes including moving washer connections, repairing a broken water line to an inground sprinkler, re-pipe a house, broken pipe repair and replacement of a water heater. In every case David and Spencer have worked the project into their schedule and arrived as scheduled. In December they replaced a water heater and replaced an inside shut off valve to an outside faucet in a rental house. Although Universal is always busy they worked this project into their schedule, arrived on time following covid-19 procedures wearing masks which made my tenant more comfortable. The valve replacement was complicated by a broken pipe discovered in the crawl space which they also repaired, along with replaced the valve and the water heater for less than the cost estimate I received from Home Depot for just replacing the water heater. Universal also provided the new water tank which was of better quality. I appreciate Universals quality work and experience.

A Universal plumber came to my house on Friday 8/21/20 with his son around one in the afternoon. He arrived in a big white truck with Universal Plumbing written on it. I gave him the outdoor faucet I had purchased to Install. He instead installed a $60 faucet without consulting me. He initially texted me that his charge $200 an hour plus travel time. He later changed that to $200 for a visit. I asked him how much travel time he was charging me and he said 20 minutes. It took him about 15 minutes to do the repair.. After he left I discovered that a stream of water was coming from the outdoor faucet, I was unable to turn the faucet off. I immediately called him and he accused me of doing something to the faucet. He said he could not come back because he had to put new brakes on his truck. I told him a flood was starting to happen just below the faucet and I needed him to come back immediately. He then told me if he came back he would charge me again for a visit. I again demand that he returned and he said he could not return until possibly next week. After arguing with him he became angry and agreed to return to the house. When he returned he again accuse me of doing something to cause the problem. He finally went into the basement and did something and the faucet finally worked properly. He said there was probably some rust in the line causing the problem. He did not apologize.

I am 79 years old and I believe he overcharged me, attempted to intimidate me, lied to me about the charges, installed an expensive faucet without consulting me, gave me anxiety by refusing to return to correct his error and was rude and threatening.

I have told everyone I know to avoid Universal Plumbing at all cost. This plumber was HORRIBLE!

I had a leaky shut off valve. I working for a plumbing wholesale company and my coworker set me up with Dave. It was looking bleak to have someone comes down fix it. (Apparently plumbers don't like these small jobs). But Dave texted me back and was able to come later the same day. Did the work correctly in less than an hour and now my new dishwasher works without any leaks. And I don't have to worry! I'll recommend this company to anyone!
