If you are looking for a good plumber look no further. These guys are so friendly, honest, and quick. We had a major back up with our sewer line, and the house we rent is quite old so there was no proper clean out available. Angel came over, quickly assessed the situation and offered a few options. He completed the work quickly and helped us understand what had happened. I really hope we do not have further problems but if we do this is who we'll call right away.

I called Angel today around 10:30 in the morning after we experienced an emergency at home. A pipe of some sort seemed to have burst in our upstairs bathroom (under spa tub), and had drenched our downstairs family and living room. Hot, steaming water was literally cascading from the ceiling and into the walls. What impressed me most was that Angel answered the phone directly; there was no voicemail; no service. I was talking to the man himself. Even though I was tripping over my own words (I was in shock by the whole event), he remained calm and professional at all times. He informed me that he would be able to come in about 1-2 hours. Sure enough, at around 12:30, he arrived at the house (he even called to let me know he would arrive in about 15-20 min). Angel (and his uncle) where at the house all day - from 12:30 till about 7:30pm at night, with the only time away to get needed materials. He was considerate, thoughtful, and reasonable with regard to the problem. Rather than destroying my bathroom, he found a novel way of reaching the piping, and corrected the blown valve. He was also very knowledgeable and respectful of the whole home owners insurance process I would be going through and made sure to photograph the damage.

I definitely hope we never have to encounter such an emergency again. The silver lining in all this, however, is that I have found a plumber for life. No matter what job, big or small, I can promise you that I will always be calling Angel back. He gets my whole hearted endorsement (and I can be a picky bast*rd)!

Need to have my water heater fixed, so called Universal Plumbing to come out to give me a quote since they had great reveiws. I currently have a 40 gal tank, and was going to switch to a 38 gal tank since I never run out of hot water (I've got a 1600 sq ft home) and to save $100. Quote was $1200 for the water heater, parts, labor & disposal. Thought the price was fair seeing as my dad had spent much more about a month ago.

Angel's plumbers got there later at night, and was able to finish the job in about 2 hrs. Angel called to let me know that the accidentally purchased a 40 gal tank, but would eat the cost, which I thought was really nice.

Would have given them 5 stars, but was told that they were going to be there at 1pm and didn't end up coming until after I called them at 530pm to see if they were still coming. I was home-bound all day waiting, which kind of sucks. Would have been nice if they called to give me an update that they were running late.

Nevertheless, happy with the work so far, and price is great so would definitely recommend and use them again.

I would like to start by apologizing for not getting this in sooner, but I hope this helps anyone looking or even thinking about hiring a professional, honest, quick, and friendly plumber in the LA county area.

Our home was built in 1979 and we didn't need to repair our copper pipes until recently. Although, at the end of the life of our copper pipes, they were springing leaks and deteriorating very quickly! Angel and his crew came in on time, thoroughly inspected all the pipes, explained our situation, and gave us an itemized checklist of what would be repaired and/or covered with this project.

Mind you fellow Yelpers, this is not just a leaking faucet, stubborn toilet, or backed-up sink, this is probably one of the biggest plumbing problems a household faces when their time is up! Prior to calling Universal Plumbing Comp., I received quotes from all my local plumbers and personal referrals. The price ranges were just how I expected them to be; GINORMOUS!!! Then I turned to Yelp! and it raved about this company, so I gave it a try.

Angel took his time to carefully explain my situation to my family, reviewed everything on the itemized checklist, answered all my questions, and even recommended some different alternatives. He and his crew were polite, clean, and never pushy. I decided right there that I would like to hire them after he showed me his estimate, payment options, and warranty.

Sit back and hold on because his estimate was the lowest we were ever quoted! Their payment options were very affordable because who has money just laying around for a home project like this! And, probably the best part, the warranty from Universal Plumbing Comp. that gave us ""all work and new copper pipes installed by Universal Plumbing Comp. will come with a 10 year warranty covering parts, materials, and labor.""

So lowest estimate to re-pipe my 2 story house, easy payment options, and 10 years warranty = no brainer!!! I highly recommend Universal Plumbing Company for all your plumbing needs - big or small!

All work and cleanup completed within three (3) days during February 2012. As of today, no problems whatsoever!!! Very happy

This company was very courteous and responsible. They were late for the first appointment and because of this, waived the service fee. I'm not saying they would always do this, but they were sensitive to my situation. They also clearly explained what was wrong with my toilet, and how they would fix it. I really think they care about good service.

Quick & painless! I had a simple shower clog & called Universal Plumbing. I was able to schedule a next-day appointment; Angel was right on time, fixed the problem swiftly, AND was happy to pop into my neighbor's place (who, coincidentally, had a dishwasher fiasco 2 minutes before Angel arrived at our duplex). Their rates are totally reasonable and the quality of work was top-notch. Zero complaints! Thank you, Yelp!

When the gas company came out to install an appliance valve for my new dryer, the technician was unable to restart the water heater pilot light due to deterioration of the ignition system. He recommended that I call a plumber to repair / replace the existing unit, but I had no local recommendations from friends or family. Naturally, I turned to Yelp! and saw the positive reviews for UNIVERSAL PLUMBING CO.

I called them once the gas company left and they asked me if I needed same day service. Since I wasn't in desperate need of hot water at the moment, I went with a next day appointment instead. Angel & Co. showed up, diagnosed the problem and showed me the poor condition of the ignition system as well as faulty repairs that were previously done. They provided an immediate estimate once the problems were identified, so I approved the work order.

During their visit, I asked about the remaining life expectancy of the existing water heater and received a fair answer without any scare tactics thrown in. That's the only time that the topic of replacing the unit came up and Angel was never pushy about it. In the end, I went with the more immediate repairs and I am very satisfied with the results. The service was quick, the team was friendly and I received an itemized bill with warranty information. I would definitely use their services again.

I'm a comparison shopper - I want the best quality for a decent price. I called about five plumbers before I reached Angel.

I called Universal about a clogged sink today and spoke with Angel who said he would make it out this afternoon - and he did! What a great concept, a plumber that keeps his word and within the time range he guesstimated - reliability point to Angel = 1 star.

He gave me a estimate/quote over the phone, which was the same reasonable price when did the job - price points to Angel = 2 stars.

Angel, and his associate Miguel, did the job quickly and looks like it's done right - efficient points to the Universal gang = 1 star.

More importantly, these guys had a good vibe and seemed like really nice guys (unlike many other plumbers and workmen I've met) - good peeps points = 1 star.

All in all - 5 stars!
