Without any doubt Eddy is the most trustworthy, resourceful, and professional person in the plumbing business I have ever had the extreme pleasure to have worked with. He saved us over $30,000 by showing and explaining to us an alternative and successful ways to repair and fix our plumbing problems. We were ready to commit to a complete sewer repair before Eddy suggested we wait until he could evaluate the situation. He spent over 2 hours clearing all our lines and detailing everything that needed to be done, including asking me to observe what he was doing. He even spent a lot of time explaining why drains get clogged and how to prevent that from happening. PLEASE, BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO ANYTHING OTHER THAN AN EXPENSIVE UNCLOGGING OF A DRAIN OR SEWER REPAIR, TALK TO EDDY HIS CHARGE FOR DOING THE WORK WAS INCREDIBLY REASONABLE. HE DOESN'T HAVE BIG OVERHEAD AND HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR OVER 20 YEARS.
Most Grateful and enormously thankful,
Kit
By the way I had never met Eddy until I called him and he told me that he would come to our home the same day I was able to talk with him. Extraordinary person.

Eddie is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable. Don't leave your sewer repairs to amateurs and sales people. Get your drain cleaned correctly the first time. Deal directly with the owner Eddie. He is a one man show of integrity and professionalism. He answers all calls and performs all duties.

Ed was professional, knew his craft and solved a deep-routed drain blockage. Would highly recommend Ed for a pipe backup/ drainage problem.

My sewer pipes backed up today in both the shower and toilet. Edy from Universal Drain in Phoenix AZ was here within an hour, worked hard to fix the problem, and got it done quickly without intrusive remedies at a reasonable price. He was so professional and explained the issue perfectly. I feel really lucky that my neighbor posted about his services and want to pay it forward. I highly recommend Eddie, he take a lot of pride in his trade. (602) 499-4622

Ed was very friendly, knew exactly what to do and affordable/fair. Would definitely use him again.

Ed Horvath came highly recommended, and he did NOT disappoint! He asked me to watch as he unclogged a very backed up main line in my new build. I am 6 months outside my construction warranty, so this could've been a costly fix had it not been diagnosed properly. He ran through every step of the process so I'd understand what he was looking for and ways to avoid this problem in the future. Before Ed left, he came thru the house and checked all my faucets, drains and toilets to make sure my water levels and pressure were where they needed to be. He also provided several tips on how to maintain a healthy plumbing system overall. I would highly recommend Ed for any plumbing issues, especially clogs!!!

Hired Universal (Ed) as my plumber was unavailable and I needed someone same day as kitchen sink was not draining. His wife said he could be there in about an hour. Well, he was 5 hours late. Showes up right at supper time. I offer to show him where the outside kitchen and other drain access points are for rooting/clearing but he insists doing the clearing from inside. He spends half an hour fixing his broken dilapidated Rotto rooting machine in my driveway leaving a mess for me to clean up the next day. Starts his task inside by running a 1/4"" drain snake thru the 1/4"" gap in the sink drain slots unsuccessfully. Moves to the bathrooms and does the same unsuccessfully while tearing up the rubber seals on the drain stopers. I later had to replace them at my expense. Finally, after 90 minutes he is stumped, and I strongly suggest he try the outside drain access point outside the kitchen sink area. He begrudgingly try's it and in 4 feet of snake the drain is cleared. Unfortunately, he did not have a proper tool to unscrew the plug and ended up breaking/shattering it. I ask if he has the parts to fix it same day or will he have to come back. He says, ""I am not a plumber"" I said it states on your web ad ""I started my business doing plumbing and drain cleaning 20 years ago"". He repeats ""I am not a Plumber and don't carry parts on me or even know how to fix such things"". So, I think to myself, well that is just wonderful. So, he goes inside and starts to tell me to not to pour things like grease down the drain. I inform him I have never, nor would I ever pour grease down a drain. However, he insists that was my problem. I informed him the house was brand new when I moved in, and I have never poured grease down the drain, as I know better. I noticed he had splattered sewage all over the walls and floor, plus the drapes, like little partials of sewage about a 1/2"" apart everywhere he had worked. I mean it covered like four feet up from the floor in a 360-degree pattern, as when he pulled his high-speed spinning drain snake out of each drain it splattered sewage everywhere. He says, ""do you have a couple of paper towels I can borrow, and I will clean it up"". I said two paper towels is not going to clean up this mess. But I give him the two paper towels and he try's for like 30 seconds and then realizes it has dried on everything and there is no way. I tell him calmly ""Forget it, I will deal with it later"" as he obviously has not a clue. It took me the better part of the evening to mop, wash, and clean up the enormous mess he left. He asks if I can pay him cash, and I abridge. However, he wanted much more than his wife and I agreed upon, but I am not one to argue, so I paid him. I noticed as he gathered his extension cord and roto rooter that he has scratched the tile everywhere he ran his old, dilapidated rooter that he had to keep one foot on so it would not vibrate and bounce all over the floor. He also scotched the cabinets. I dd not say anything about it, I just wanted him done at this point. I still have two spots on the carpet of dripping sewage that I cannot to this day get out from where he caried his rooter from one room to the other. He was very polite the whole time and so in turn was I. It is hard for me to believe 90% of his reviews are positive, as he was an incompetent disaster. How can I say this you may ask? We used to own duplexes and we had used roto rooters a few times. They would lay down old blankets or carboard where they worked. NEVER made a mess or scratched anything. Oh, also later I wondered why everything inside the bathroom cabinet was soaked with water a few days later when I went for a roll of toilet paper. Well, he broke the drain and tried to put it back together, but as in his words ""I am not a plumber"" he failed to do so properly. So now I also have a water damaged warped cabinet floor. My suggestion is to NOT take a chance and hire this fellow. Heis a nice fellow, but completely incompetent in my opinion.

We had a drain problem with a condo that my granddaughter had recently purchased. Eddie came over an hour earlier than his appt. Called us first. He knew exactly how to fix it. It was a bath tub drain. He explained how the pipes worked. Had it fixed in no time. Very polite and friendly person. Would highly recommend him and will call Eddie again. Thank you

Eddie at Universal Drain Cleaners has been my go to drain guy for many years. He is simply amazing.
When your toilet is clogged you need help right away. He always answers my call, arrives on time, and fixes the problem quickly. He has great knowledge of plumbing systems old and new (including my 1940's house). He takes his time telling you what the problem is so that you understand what is going on in your pipes.
Unlike some, he also lets you know best practices and preventative measures to take so you do not need him again. I trust him. He has my best interest at heart. My problem is roots (that I choose to procrastinate fixing because I love my plants and am cheap!). Hence, I have needed Universal Drain Cleaners multiple times over the years. But on advice from Universal I have reduced my drain problems significantly.
Once I tried a different company. I ended up having to call Universal Drain Cleaners to fix the original problem plus the problem the other company caused while pretending to know what they were doing. The other company charged me much more than they originally quoted for uncompleted work and their mistakes. Eddie charged me his regular affordable charge and made my worries evaporate. That one visit alone saved me so much stress and headache I silently thank him every time I see my bathroom. That is how awesome Eddie and Universal Drain Cleaners are!

I have been having drain problems and Ed came out took his time and solved the problem he even took the time to answer a question that was off of the problem thx Ed
Before calling a plumbing company call Ed he gets the job done
