Don't waste your time with the chain appliance stores, you will get better and faster service and a lower price, due to no delivery charge, with Universal!!!! I called on Monday night at 5:45 p.m. to order a wine refrigerator after wasting 2 weeks with Ferguson, who never returns calls, and when they did finally get back to me, wanted to charge me double the price for an extended warranty plan as Universal did, plus another $200 for delivery and haul away of the old wine refrigerator. Here I am on Wednesday, just 2 days later, with my beautiful new wine refrigerator installed. Why didn't I call Universal Appliance first? I would have saved a lot of time and aggravation, but luckily I still saved money with them. Plus their delivery men were the nicest I have ever met, not complaining when I told them I had arranged to have the handle switched (it wasn't on their paperwork but they did it without a problem.)

We purchased a beautiful new Bertazzoni over the range microwave a week ago and had it installed today. Maida, the store manager assisted us with our purchase. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. We discussed our options and eventually decided on the Bertazzoni KO 30 PRO X. Ivan and his assistant, employees of Universal came to do the install. We were scheduled for him to arrive between noon and 5pm, they arrived at 5 minutes after noon. They were friendly and worked efficiently as a team. The install only took about 50 minutes including clean up. The install was done better than the previous one we replaced. Plus Ivan took the old broken unit away for us. Thank you Universal for making this a smooth purchase and install!

Bought a Bosch dishwasher from this business. Pretty good service apart from a few minor problems at the end.

* Took under a week for the item to be ready for delivery
* They delivered on the day I requested
* The delivery guy was very friendly and he took my old dishwasher away

The minor problems were:

* There was supposed to be a test strip to check how hard local water is - it wasn't in the packaging. It is important as you have to correct a setting on the dishwasher according to the water hardness before using. When I called Universal to see if they had any I could use they ""no you'll have to buy some"". I called Bosch and they are sending me some gratis in the mail.
* This particular Bosch dishwasher requires salt which is hard to find locally. Universal don't stock it and don't know where to buy it, they didn't seem interested in helping when I called them. I found the salt in their competitors retail store where Bosch are sold. It would be nice if Universal stocked hard to find cleaning products their products take, like most of the other stores in the area.

So, I had the dishwasher but I couldn't use it for 11days until the test strip arrived.

Would I recommend them? Yes, as long as you don't require any customer service once you actually have the product delivered.

Went shopping for a new oven. Visited several places including Pacific Sales and Ferguson's. Pacific Sales had an OK salesperson, but was pricey (no deals on the good stuff despite their ads). Went to Universal and received the best help ever from an appliance store. Very knowledgeable, great prices, no pressure. Also, loved the quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Installation crew was very friendly, careful and professional. I intend to be a long term customer and highly recommend them!

10 days ago I purchased a Maytag washer/dryer from Universal Appliance. Did it 100% over the phone. The salesman was super nice, low pressure and attentive to my needs. He gave me what appeared to be a very good deal. A few days later I was in Home Depot and priced the same appliance there. Turns out I saved over $100 by shopping with Universal. Awesome!

Today the nicest delivery/installation guys on Earth delivered and carefully installed my new appliance. They made sure it was perfect, meticulously level and worked. They were great and deserve 6 stars.

I had a flawless shopping experience here and will buy all future appliances from Universal.

Great company for your house needs. I shop in both stores just because it's in my nature of work. I know I always get the best prices compared to pacific sales and so on. This showroom itself is beyond gorgeous. Igor has done a great job in the layout of this store. I'll definitely keep shopping from here and will also refer this place to everyone I know and deal with.

What I liked about this store was that it was well illuminated and had an amazing inventory of appliances. We went back multiple times with many questions. Leon, our salesman, was extremely knowledgeable and patient as we made our selections. After awhile we felt like family. We shopped around at many other appliance stores and would highly recommend this store because of its' superior customer service.

After checking out the two main ""Home Improvement"" centers in Simi Valley and Newbury Park, respectively, and one along the 23 Freeway at New L.A. Avenue, we went by Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center, and we are VERY glad that we did.

Save yourself the same hassles and go here first - seriously...this place ROCKS!!!!

We purchased a complete set of Jenn-Air kitchen appliances after coming in thinking that we were going to go with Whirlpool Gold.

Amer, our consultant was EXTREMELY good, very professional, highly consultative in his sales approach with absolutely NO high-pressure sales tactics. He asked lots of questions about OUR needs and preferred use of the appliances and then tailored his recommendations to keep within our budget (well, mostly, but not MUCH outside) but the equipment that he suggested was MUCH, MUCH nicer than what I thought we would be able to afford. THANK YOU, Amer for your assistance & a VERY pleasant buying experience.

Their brands tend towards the higher-end of the spectrum, but their prices are highly competitive, but the displays and number of vendors enables you to see a LOT of nice quality gear in one place. You don't have to run all over town to actually SEE a lot of gear in person, which is a tremendous plus.

We also talked to Peter in the Plumbing department and his associate, Shawnie. They are also both very pleasant to work with, and we will be going back shortly to make our plumbing fixture selections. The fixtures tend to the higher-end, and their selection is broad - there is a LOT to see in this showroom.

Better YET, UAKC ALSO carries several lines of countertops, such as Cambria USA (my favorite), Silestone, Caesarstone and others.

This is basically a ""one-stop-shop"" for kitchen and bathroom remodels, and we are VERY, VERY pleased that we found them and plan to use them for the remaining selections of our remodel.

Go here first, and save yourself a lot of time and aggravation running around - these folks know their stuff, and and are very easy to work with.

I came here for their grand opening about a month ago and boy am I glad I didn't miss it! They had a ribbon cutting ceremony, hors doeuvres and a raffle that you could enter into to win small kitchen appliances. I believe that also had cooking demonstrations from what I heard, but I missed that part.

My boyfriend and I are looking to move in together so I figured this would be the perfect place to go to considering it was their grand opening and we were sure to find some good deals. The store is huge with an amazing selection of different appliances ranging from refrigerators to washers to coffee machines and even to plumbing of all different brands. Despite the fact that the grand opening was incredibly busy and so much was going on, the sales associates made my boyfriend and I feel as though we were the only people in the room. We're young so I figured they would just ignore us like every other store does, but it was the complete opposite.

Customer service alone deserves 5 stars as well as how gorgeous the store looks.

Prices are reasonable here compared to many other appliance stores. They also offer a lot of specials to go along with many of their appliances.

I reviewed universal appliance a few weeks ago because I had a great experience with the sales person there. Since then, they delivered my dishwasher, which does not seem to be working right. When I called (one week after delivery) I couldn't get the sales person on the phone but spoke with the manager. He was rude, wouldn't help and basically I will never do business with them again. Considering they don't have great reviews, I will now officially retract my good review and replace it with this one.
