Look. This place is the worst. I was a renter and used them once when my furnace broke and I couldn't get ahold of my landlord and so I called them and gave my number. BAD IDEA. I have sinced moved TWICE and they still call me about once a week, even though each time I tell them I was a renter, and don't live there anymore, and I could care less what offer they're giving me or what they're peddling. Now they're mailing me too, as it's being forwarded FROM A YEAR AGO.

Seriously, you guys, I hate you. Just leave me alone.

Be Aware of United Air Temp. Never call them for your heating ,cooling, or plumbing repair. They are just going to rip you off. They always call and beg for another chance.
There manager never responds to your call's. I had there contract for heating and cooling. When my contract was over the last checkup when they came they shut off my heating system because I didn't renew my contract.
They wanted me to call back for service.

I had the plumbing service and when I called them they didn't fix my plumbing problem. There employees are not professionals. They are very rude people because the problem was very minor but they couldn't fix it how did they get there job I mean they work there. When I called them back to cancel my contract they were very rude and said NO. What kind of business dose that? My opinion wouldnt get there service! I am very mad.

First, the people who come to your home are pushy and just try to sell you something every time they arrive. I fell for it the first time and bought a $3,000 furnace. It was loud and sounded like a motorcycle running in my basement. It was quite difficult to get the guy to come back and fix it. After four visits, the noise was fixed. Then they came back in the spring and scared me into thinking that my AC compressor was broken, but in fact it is fine and worked well all summer. Just yesterday they came to ""check and service"" my one year old furnace and tried to tell me that the hot water heated needed to be replaced. By coincidence, the hot water heater is now NOT working after the guy ""looked"" at it.

Last, they charged $359 to my credit card for a ""service plan"" that I never agreed to and then charged $95 when they came to do the service. They are robbers and sell a poor quality furnace. Do not use this company.

I had a new air conditioner, furnace and humidifier installed November 2010 by Unitied Air Temp. Provessional? I don't think so.

The sales person, Anthony, wrote out a price quote but never gave a copy to us. It included the $100 chimney they never used. Still waiting to have that amount refunded.

When they did the install they had to drill through the paneling to run a pipe from the furnace to the outside to vent it. The pipe hangs below my drop ceiling. The basement renovation is going to be a little more because I have to hire another plumber to re-route the pipe so it will be above the celiling. Oh, and they left a mess. I had sawdust everywhere. They didn't even put a drop cloth over the furniture.

They are required to arrange for the inspection within five days of completing the work. They finished 17 November 2010. I have never had an inspector out. I have had to make the appointment myself. My concern now is that I will have to pay a penalty for not having it inspected timely.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. I would recommend Cropp-Metcalfe.

What an awful company. I rent a condo and the landlord uses United Air Temp to do maintenance and repairs. Oh how I wish I could call whoever I wanted - that he didn't have a contract with them. In the 6 months that we've lived here, they've had to come out to do two repairs and two check ups. For the repairs, they spent a very minimal amount of time diagnosing the problem and did a quick patch, only for it to fail and have to be called out. Again. In the dead heat of the summer our AC failed. It was leaking. The first visit, they just added coolant. That's it. Didn't even try to see why it was leaking. So of course, it failed again within hours after they left. They came back out and did another patch job. Failed again. They had to come back a THIRD time, and it turns out the guy who did the periodic check up didn't tighten something. He caused the leak! No apologies. Three days I had to plan to be at home. Wasted time and energy from running a broken system. Not to mention the discomfort of 100 degree weather. And- it was a different person coming out every time. Just recently we called them when the AC failed again. They came out on a Friday. Said they fixed it by replacing a part. That night it failed again. We had to wait until Monday for them to come out. Our heat isn't working either, so we spent the weekend in 58 degree house. Lovely. They're supposed to be here today. It's already 4:30pm. No call. And who's to say this 'fix' will actually work?! The people you call at the 800 # are unfriendly and unapologetic. If they were professional and astute enough to do their job right the first time, I would sing and dance a jig! But we're left suffering through their incompetence for the remainder of our lease. I can tell you one thing for SURE- once we buy our house I do not want United AIr Temp ANYWHERE near it.

Last summer a number of visits were made by United Air Temp to service my air conditioner. Various repairs were supposedly made mainly adding Freon. I paid $60 per visit to United Temp in addition to my monthly payment to the warranty company. By the end of summer the problems still existed so as soon as the weather became hot this year the same problems existed, ie, overheating and cutting out. The tech visited the condo and said 'there was nothing wrong with the unit'. I was not satisfied with this diagnosis and another visit was arranged with a supervisor from United Temp. When he asked for access to the roof where the outside units are kept, the building management requested a current insurance certificate. The one they had expired three years ago. The technician said to the tenant he was going to park his vehicle - HE NEVER RETURNED. The tenant had taken the day off work for this visit. I spoke with the receptionist at the building who said any repairs to the unit or adding of Freon could not have been made without a current insurance certificate as access to the roof would have been required. So the two issues, leaving the building and falsely stating repairs were made to the unit which could not have been possible at any time last summer, lead me to arrange for another contractor who made the repair and the air cond now works. United Temp has acted in a completely unprofessional manner and wasted everyone's time and my money.

We are currently trying to get our a/c unit repaired and it is still not running well after almost two months (8 weeks) of multiple delays in waiting for parts and misdiagnosed repair issues. My mother lives in our house alone (I am overseas for work), she's 83 and miserable. I was home on leave when this problem started. They serviced the unit in April 2010 for a similar problem but claim we have not done maintenance in two years and they have not been able to reach us. I have called UAT regional manager twice and have never received a return call. The technician that comes to our house is nice and we call him directly but he cannot explain why the unit can't be fixed more quickly. I would advise looking for another company and would never recommend them.

I have a home warranty through AHS and they use United Air Temp - both are horrible businesses. I told the customer service tech to call my desk phone at work but instead they kept calling my cell phone which has no service in my office. I had to reschedule multiple times because they could not grasp the concept of calling my listed desk phone number. I even told the tech that came to my house to write the number down for the next appointment to replace my unit - he told me ""no, tell the customer service people."" Seriously?!? The tech then told me that he would have a manger call me which never took place. The representatives are rude, the techs are rude and clearly the upper management doesn't care either. DO NOT USE THEM EVER!

United Air Temp is a horrible company staffed by incompetent people. My old air conditioning unit broke and I called my home warranty company, American Home Shield and they sent out United Air Temp.

When they arrived they determined that the old unit was not repairable and that I needed a new one. Instead of installing the unit they started hard sell tactics to buy an upgraded unit from their company saying that the one that is covered by my home warranty was inefficient. No discount would be given, I would just have to pay 6K. When I said no, please replace it with a covered unit they started making up issues that would not be covered by my warranty to further scare me into purchasing one of their expensive units. I eventually forced them to call AHS where we learned that everything was covered.

Now that they were on the hook to replace the unit with no additional costs they showed how bad workmanship can be. The two oafs proceeded to replace my unit in the sloppiest ways possible. They didn't have enough material to do the job correctly so they started literally cutting corners in order to making the piping work.

My AC hasn't worked properly since and my house now has trouble cooling.

WARNING: I used this company to fix my HVAC unit. They made a burning smell in my home. The tech freaked out.. He left everything opened and ran out of my home. The manager cursed me out and called me a very bad name. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM.............

I made a complaint against your company and this was the note that they replied with: This letter is in no form or fashion a true statement... I had two other companies in after your company left and they have made a written report of what was founded. Also when my complaint was made I did not say anything against the tech that was at my home. In fact I said it was the manager that was rude and cursed at me. I can not prove that day and I wish i had my cameras on to prove to you that I in no way was that disrespectful to anyone. Please read:Better Business Bureau

Case #8624382

Dear Mr. Dennis:

This is in reference to the complaint filed on June 6, 2011 by Airica Hawkins. Ms. Hawkins contacted American Home Shield, her landlord's home warranty company, with a ""no A/C"" call. On June 6, a United Air Temp technician, Vito, visited Ms. Hawkins' home. Vito turned on the system and began to diagnose the problem. He removed the door from the blower compartment, checked for proper electrical power to the blower, turned the system off again, and secured the door.

He then returned to the thermostat with Ms. Hawkins; when they restarted the system, they both smelled something burning. Ms. Hawkins became frantic and called both the fire department and the police; she demanded that Vito remain in the house until they arrived. She was extremely angry and upset and used extensive profanity toward Vito, who became uncomfortable. Vito called his manager, Ashley Douglas, for guidance. Mr. Douglas instructed Vito to turn off the electrical breaker leading to the furnace and told Vito to leave the home and contact American Home Shield with a report of what happened, including the profane behavior demonstrated by the customer. Vito did as he was instructed.

In her panic, Ms. Hawkins unfortunately stopped short the diagnostic process needed to determine why she was having problems with her air conditioning unit. The burning smell she and the technician detected may have been a clue as to what the issue was--a dying motor, for example. While I certainly understand Ms. Hawkins' concern, I do feel that if we had been given the chance, we would have located the cause of the odor and resolved the problem. Mr. Douglas also spoke to Ms. Hawkins after he instructed Vito to leave the house; he states that he was polite and professional in his conversation with her, but that she verbally attacked him as well, using profanities and accusing Mr. Douglas of ""possibly"" calling her a ""*Word Rejected*"" (she does state that she isn't sure.) Mr. Douglas spoke to Ms. Hawkins a second time the next day; Ms. Hawkins became irate again, eventually calling Mr. Douglas a ""white bastard"" and informing him that she planned to contact the BBB and the FBI, and that United Air Temp was ""finished"" as a company before hanging up on him.

United Air Temp stands by the actions we took that day and does not believe we are at fault in any way. Ms. Hawkins' warranty is with American Home Shield, not United Air Temp, so if she wishes to pursue the matter she may contact them directly. In the meantime, we have placed Ms. Hawkins on our ""do not call"" list and will no longer consider her a customer.

Sincerely,

Robert R. Batchelor

How can some speak so many untruths about one. The owners of this company need to get to the bottom of this. I would never say a raciest statement like that. I am of a mixed race. My grandfather is a white man and I love him and would never disrespect him. I have forwarded this to him. So he may call you himself with his displeasure. You have degraded me as a human. As your manager was cursing at me he is the one that made a very bad statement, and because of this I tape all conversations now. My children are of a mixed race and now your company says that I of all people is raciest. All that my grandparents did for this country.
I had the HVAC company come and tell me all types of bad things about your company and your professionalism. I did not say anything against you. I only listened. I will ask for all the written reports about my home so you know the truth. I am also more than happy with giving you the names and companies who had to come to my home because of all of this.I had no problem with your tech and I would have used you again. Also I did a little research and you have several complaints on the managers there and the rudeness. Thank you for listening.
