Liars and cheats - had to get another company to come in who confirmed Air temp had not done what was required - in fact had lied to me about the problem trying to sell me replacement instead of repair. The second company also confirmed they hear the same about United Ait temp all the time. STAY CLEAR

I used UAT for many years and thought it was more or less okay, though did have a siege of incompetent visits from technicians unable to fix my heating system, till finally a supervisor came and said it had been hooked up wrong in the first place. Mostly, I am disappointed and angry about the quality of their recent work. A young guy who obviously had NO idea what he was doing came out to check my AC system. He told me that there was a leak, and that the outside unit was broken, so he turned off the unit--at the start of a major heat wave. I ended up taking my dog to a motel--the heat in my house was in the 90's. Four days later, there was finally a follow-up visit. The technician said there was nothing wrong with the AC--there had been a power outage, and the water detector had tripped the switch. In 2 minutes he had ""fixed"" the AC. BUT I also asked him to check my attic fan (covered by my warranty). He reluctantly climbed into my attic, and told me it wasn't on but he had no idea how to fix it. He wasn't even sure there WAS a fan (well, I certainly paid for one, but he couldn't find the records, and thought ""maybe"" a vent-like object was a fan). That's where things currently stand. I am thinking of changing companies, though I've had a contract with UAT for a long time.

Derick from United Air Temp just did an inspection on my house and he discovered there was an issue with my water heater, the problem was the required part needed to fix the water heater was obsolete. He ended up searching far and wide all over Nova to fine a part that would work just so that we would not have to go the night without hot water( we have a new born baby in the house). He returned to my house at 9 pm and installed the part and we had hot water. I also forgot to mention this happened on a Saturday and he day was suppose to end at 12 noon.

Came to clean my filters on my heaters for $69 because of mistake I made by answering one of their solicitations over the phone. Plus, many years ago, the guy actually did work on my heater, actually brought water out and cleaned my filters. Took about 2 hours. Toda, Guy came and starting drawing me a chart about 5 minutes after he arrived on how I can save money. I asked, ""are you done?"" he said yes, ""everything looks great on your heater."" I asked him, why I became a lawyer. They called into headquarters and asked if there was a problem. I said yes, they were supposed to clean my filters but never did because the guy said you don't do that on my kind of heater. the ""supervisor"" said yes there is a way to clean it. The guy vacuumed my heater for 5 minutes, collected my $70 cash and left. I guess companies like this stay in business by advertising alot. Still I have not seen one good review for the company, and I'm sure any good reviews come for a manager there. Funny how they can take $70 from me with a straight face.

I've been a customer of United Air Temp for several years. Finally I realized they'd been ripping me off taking advantage of my ignorance about technical issues. This is the most unprofessional company. The technician even asked me (several occasions) to provide a ladder. Last Spring they informed me that I needed a new system because the free-on was being phased out (this is true, thouhg). If I wanted to put in free on it would cause me 600 bucks and my system probably would last until summer. A friend of mind recommended a ""one man company"". I called, this man showed up put in the free on for me and charged me 300 bucks (he had a ladder). My system is still working (April 2014). I paid United Air Temp $499.00 for a one year warranty, but I'd rather lose my money than deal with them. I suggest they should shut down and find something else to do.

Ugh...

Whoever said ""I wish I could give less than 1 star. The receptionist is maybe the rudest person I've ever dealt with in a customer service capacity"" was right on the money. It's insane. They cancel appointments without telling you. They claim to have left voicemails they never did. They give excuses that don't make sense (need daylight for a repair that is being done entirely indoors). I don't know what to say. I'm shocked they are in business.

United Air Temp was dispatched to our home through American Home Shield. We also had a coupon from Groupon to clean the system. The tech came out, and told us we had a crack in the heating exchange. Was told it's possibly because the maintenance was not kept up. He took some pictures, and I was told he cleaned the system. Was also told he would have his, ""Boss"" come out to verify the heating exchange was cracked. Hours later, another guy came out, and ran a cable with a light & camera on the end to, ""verify"" guy # 1's findings. We were told that to replace the heating exchange would take about 7-10 day. However, a new furnace could be installed as early as the next day. We called AHS, and told us whatever United Air Temp told them is final. We were not pleased with this, and requested a second opinion. Four Seasons Heating & Air came out, and after his checks, we were told the system is working normal. He removed the blower, (Which UAT did not do) and the heating system, and no cracks were found. He also found dust in the system which UAT was paid extra to do. I'll never all these people again. Appears they lied to us, and possibly chasing the money instead of doing the job right. My wife went to have a conference at a client's home later that day, only to find UAT there, and the same person told the homeowner, ""You have a cracked heating exchange"" Something is just not right.

All of the bad reviews on Yelp and Google are on point now that I've seen how terrible of a company this is first hand. Like others, if I could give less than 1 star I would.

I scheduled an appointment for a routine HVAC 'seasonal' maintenance check I purchased off Living Social. When the tech arrived, he found that the unit was leaking water and said it needed to be fixed first before anything else can be checked. I said ok, fine because there is clearly water on the floor so that is an issue that should be fixed.

After he fixed it, he told me that he could not perform the routine maintenance because he found that all of my refrigerant had leaked out. Therefore, I needed to do a leak test. Naturally, the next question is how much does that cost? $237! I said well my unit is only 5 years old so before I fork over that much to do anything, I need to find out if it is still under warranty. He proceeded to tell me that since this unit is right at 5 years, it's probably not covered anymore. That's fine if that truly is the case, but why shouldn't I at least try to find it out first? I have only lived at my residence a year so I did not have any of that information previously. I'm also thinking a unit this new certainly should not have had all the refrigerant leaked out. I said, how can that be when my AC has been running fine and cooling the place this whole time? I asked if he had any idea of where it could be leaking from and he said no, not without doing the leak test. He also said that if I kept running the AC, I could potentially do a lot of damage. Of course, all this is during 90+ degree weather. So I said I would call them back when I had some information on.

The next few days I proceeded to hunt down my warranty information as well as call around to some other places for a second opinion based what he told me. A majority of the other places said if I was completely out of refrigerant, the AC would be blowing out warm air which was certainly not the case.

I called back to customer service to ask for a different tech to be sent back out to check again because I did not feel that there was anything wrong with my unit. The rep tells me that she needed to ask for 'supervisor approval' and would call me back and let me know. She also added that the first tech was a 'senior technician'.

Needless to say, I did not call them back. I went with a family owned HVAC company named Consumer's Choice that came as a recommendation from another distribution company. Let me just say that was the best decision I made because they performed the maintenance check (after purchasing a maintenance contract) and found NOTHING wrong and no leaks! I'm so thankful that I didn't pay a ton of money for nothing.

Lesson of the day: always ask for a second opinion to make sure you are making the right choice if/when shelling out a bunch of money.

Had them come out to test for a leak in my refrigerant line. We found it right away. I was given sound advice and they were very fair and knowledgeable. After dealing with a few other companies that simply came out, recharged the refrigerant, and then didn't bother to suggest checking for a leak or any other options I was very happy with United.

I wish I could give less than 1 star. The receptionist is maybe the rudest person I've ever dealt with in a customer service capacity. The technicians are incompetent and don't keep their appointments. When considering the price, keep in mind that you will need to factor in that you'll need to set at least 3 appointments before someone actually shows up, they will not fix the problem and are more likely to do additional damage, and they do not honor their own warranties by denying that anything is wrong. I am not generally a complainer but this was the worst home maintenance experience I have ever had, and my experiences with this company have been consistently terrible. I cannot believe this company is still in business. You've been warned.
