User N.After 3 visits from them and 1 visit from an electrician they said needed to replace a perfectly good breaker, they tried to convince me refrigerant costs 5 times the prize on Amazon. They also quoted a new unit at over 2x the Angie's List price. The group in Virginia that handles dispatch told us techs come ""anytime from 9am until midnight"". Absolutely the worst experience in my life and it's still not over. I have been without A/C for a week because I was foolish enough to use American Home Shield, who relies on these clowns. If you have another option, take it, or ask your home warranty company to find someone else. I took the AHS cash in lieu of repair option and found a solid guy in my town. Saved $2,330. My guy buys refrigerant for $16/lb, sells for $40/lb. These guys charge $105/lb. AHS only reimburses $10/lb. Also missed 4 days of work waiting around for them, then a 5th day when I found my own guy.
Karen G.The company sent a service person out to conduct a maintenance check on a newly purchased air conditioner and during this check the service person tried to persuade me into purchasing a new furnace. Hours after he left I had NO running hot water. Keep in mind I had no concerns or problems until their service person began this maintenance check. Now I'm am trying to get someone from the company to respond on a Friday night to correct their corrupt actions.
If I could give this negative stars I most certainly would. I have had a home warranty with American Home Shield for 3 years and one of the companies that they use to fulfill their obligations for the warranty is United Air Temp. I have had to utilize them two times in the past and while they got the job done eventually they are absolutely horrific at diagnosing a problem and then repairing it. It seems as if they send their biggest rookie technician out for every first call who proceeds to diagnose any minor issue that he can and then treats that problem only to have the customer call back and get a return service. The problem becomes that when you call for a return service they schedule you a week out so you are stuck with an A/C or heating issue for an extended period of time. That is not the situation you want to be in when you have small children. The on going issue I have with the company now is that my A/C stopped cooling; I called American Home Shield to activate my home warranty and they send the request to none other than United Air Temp. After going through three different technicians that could not figure out what the problem was, they finally sent someone with some experience to solve the problem; by this time a month had passed with no A/C. They determined there was a part that needed to be ordered and that took a week to come in. Next the technician comes out on a Monday with the part and proceeds to inform my wife that he can't install the part because of the drizzling rain. (I'm sorry, why did you drive here again and waste my time!) To make matters worse, they can't reschedule me unit Thursday. That means four more days added to the nearly month and a half I've been waiting for this repair to be complete.
The bottom line is this, I would not recommend United Air Temp to come rake the leave out of a yard because they would likely screw that up too. Their customer service representative have a horrible attitude and make no attempt to satisfy their customers, and I am fairly certain that the scheduling issues are due to the fact that they want you to buy their service contract instead of using your home warranty. I've come to this conclusion because every technician that come out for a repair tells you how much better the service is for those customers. I've gone so far as to tell American Home Shield that they are about to lose my business as well if they ever dispatch my service request to United Air Temp again because they are absolutely horrible.
Jerry M.We had an emergency repair needed on our AC during our recent heatwave on a day I was traveling out of town and my wife was at home with my children (one of whom has a medication condition that not having AC would have made his day unbearable). Luckily, United Air Temp was able to squeeze us in as they had workers nearby on another job. United Air Temp was able to quickly identify the problem, correct the issue and get our AC back working. They followed up with us later that day to make sure our system was still working. We were very happy with their promptness, ability to identify and fix the problem, and their attention to detail & customer service. On top of this on a day when temperatures were suppose to 100', their prices were reasonable. I would highly recommend United Air Temp and look forward to having them as our HVAC service provider.
Absolutely deplorable customer service. Our appointment was for 5:30-7pm. We called 3 times and were assured he was ""on the way"". Finally at 8pm I called and asked how late he was going to be. The extremely rude receptionist said ""it could be midnight or later"". Midnight?! What kind of company is this?!? I will never ever use them again. Regardless of how good their actual tech may be - the customer service and all hours policy is unacceptable.
This is an update as proof that United Air Temp tried to collect money from me that was not necessary and that the worker from United Air Temp let my freon out into the air. Another contractor came out and fixed all the mishaps that United Air did to my unit. It turns out too that the worker lied about how much Freon my unit holds, he said it needs 9 pounds and it would cost $1,045.00. It only holds 6.63 pounds of freon, so the most it would have cost is $594 something. And there was no leak. It only needed the compositor. United Air Temp tried to get more money from me. I am very disappointed in United Air Temp. I have received no apology and no compensation for my difficulties. Like reimbursing me for the freon I paid to have put back in.
Terrible - They are late, don't keep appointments, customer service is useless, and when they actually do the work they do it poorly.
Ahmad of the Vienna office conducted a routine maintenance of my heater and discovered a water leak. He fixed it for free at no extra charge. He was very courteous, knowledgeable and patient in answering all of my questions and concerns. I highly recommend his services!
United Air temp replaced a motor on my Amana heater and had to recipe the gas to make it fit. Johnny did a great job. It looks good and is much quieter now.

Bought a Groupon for Furnance and AC cleaning . Guy came and looked into Furnance first, removed motor and looked inside furnace heat exchanger and told me that there is crack in heat exchanger. That is safety hazard asked me to replace whole HVAC unit but did not do any cleaning.
When you hear Carbon monoxide saftey hazard that ring all bell and whistles luckly my comfortmaker heat exchanger is still under warranty so called other reputed company for second opinion and they laughed on the claims made on crack but I was still wanna make sure my family is safe so I was ready to replace HVAC unit so start staking quotes and all companies came to gave me estimate told me their is nothing wrong with Furnance. I felt like fooled by technician who just do not wanna to the job. While he was looking inot furnance he was on phone with his manager all the time now I am wonder why?
Also he did not do cleaning in AC unit because it was low in gas.
Lesson learned ""never fall for cheap Groupon tricks"" . Get reliable guys who worked for your friends or neighbour
