Buyer beware! I have lived in Arizona, Texas and Florida. I have been living with air conditioners for over 30 years. I have my units serviced twice a year. I always have the technicians show me and teach me about every issue I have ever had. I have a house in Houston with three units and a condo in Florida with one unit. Unique Air was highly recommended. For the first time ever I had to ask the technician to stop what he was doing and leave my house. I called the company and spoke to customer care to tell them about my issues. I never received a call back. I received an email invoice stating that I asked the technician to leave because he told me my coils were rusted. I had this company come out a few months earlier to install uv lights in the return and one by the coils. The uv light in the return kept falling off so after the third service call it was strapped to the duct to prevent it from falling off (unique approach). When a different the service tech came out for a routine maintenance call he took off the front and sat down and said your coils are dirty. I asked him to show me and they were a little dirty on the bottom and clean on the top from the uv light. I said so your going to clean them right. He said,""""I am not going to clean the coils I am not going to breath that in.""""I said I have never in 30 years had a tech refuse to clean coils. He said your coils are rusted and yes they are rusted on the sides but the rusting is pretty recent. It is surface rust at this point. I said so what do you recommend. He said, """"You need to replace this unit."""" I said why would I replace this entire unit if the coils are rusting, the unit works great. He said,""""The coils will cost about as much as the unit so you may as well replace the unit."""" I said the unit is only 5 years old and works great why don't you just clean the coils. He said, """"Do you have the Eco Plan?"""" I said no I don't think so. He said,""""Then I will have to charge you to clean them."""" I said I don't trust you, I don't believe you are here to help me put the cover back on and leave. So we went from,"""" I won't clean your coils because I don't want to breath that in"""", to """"You need to have your entire unit replaced"""", to """"I can clean your coils but I will have to charge you."""" I don't mind paying to have the coils cleaned, I never said I did. I have a warranty so when the coils no longer function I will have them replaced. I can tell it was very easy for the technician to recommended unnecessary services (like replace the whole unit). It was not his first rodeo and probably not the first time he recommended an unnecessary, expensive repair. It is not my first service or repair either. I have gone through 30 years of them and never had an experience like this one. If you use them get a second opinion before you opt for an expensive repair. I do not recommend them and management was unresponsive.

We contacted unique air to have our air ducts cleaned. When I made the appointment earlier this week they scheduled us for Friday between 12 and 5. We were happy to Frank arrive not long after noon. Frank was so pleasant. He was thorough and explained everything he was doing. Our five star review is based on franks work and his pleasant attitude.

called Feb. 26 to have air service cleaning. I got scheduled March 7 fri. They charge $20 every month for service...so i was ok with that. Very disappointed they charge me for the month of Feb but the first service is done in March 7, they charge me twice Month of Feb and March... Secondly I have another service done to check the air quality of my condo paid $199 the set everything up, leave the device for 3 days after 3 days that technician came to pick up the device to test it.. The technician said I will get the result in 3 days. Its been to weeks have passed never heard form Unique Air,, so I called again and ask for the result.The lady that i talked to said we'll send a technician over... The Technician came 8:30 in the morning was sick that day i have to go to the doctor for check up met him in the parking lot and he said he will be back between 3 to 5pm nobody showed up.Went out for dinner at 6pm.He showed up late so we missed him..I wasn't happy with their service so i called and asked for a refund for the $20 they charged me for the month of Feb and of course $199 for air quality check .. they said they won't give me a refund or even a discount for the delayed result of the air cleaning test..So I cancelled the services from them after 2 weeks April 25 they charged me $20 i have already canceled the service don't want their service anymore..so I called again to ask for a refund customer service is playing games they said they will call me back that's a shame this company is a big """"SHAME"""".This Company don't care about thier customers no respect at all..What happen to me is a RIPOFF""""..I Hope my review will be helpfull to all the consumer who are planning to use Unique Air in the future.... beware of these people. they told me that to have my 10 years warranty to be effective; we had to pay them 29or 25 bucks a month. the staff in the office is a joke, they are out to take your money, never have the right part and sold us a piece of junk that is less that 2 years old. their claim on the back of their folder says 100% return of all funds. well first lied to the county when they pulled the permit. . and then told us that the valve caps were the problem, still with no air, and they are just the pits. when an officer of the company outright lied on the permit that must be pulled and posted on your property before work is to commence and don't until file it until 3 weeks later , he was just 8 days short of the first month after installation. do not buy these guy's stories. get at least 3 opinions before you have to buy or replace. and never, ever let them darken your door ever again. they over charge and trust me on this, they are only out to get you money anyway they can. a nice new system that is less that 2 years old has major leaks in what is supposed to be a sealed system. ask questions, get it in writing, and if they won't, kick them off of your property and call consumer protection and do file and follow up with your complaint. report them to your county agencies, call the state and fed epa,, document everything they do and take video of them at their job in your home. they have no expectation of privacy because they are in your home..you have the legal right to video and audio tape in your own domicile at anytime. just tell them that when they show up. if they don't like being videotaped or photographed or you recording what the technician is telling you, and you will stand there, watching everything that they do and get it in get it in writing. or they can just leave because they know that video does not lie.. let them leave, get the number of the truck, the date and time, everything you can get on them while they are on your property. they will run faster than lighting, you then know that the pictures don't lie and they are trying to pull a fast one. and just ask if they are , telling the truth. do not allow them to record the call.not if, are recording the call.they must answer with the truth. or if they lie, you got them. i have seen it all in this business and these guys are one of the best at being crooked in my personal option. and i would not believe one word out of the mouth of mr. mike montgomery for any reason either. and if you are a senior citizen, you also can nail them for fiscal abuse of the elderly as well. it's not nice to lie mickey!

They have good repairmen but the Ammana A/C product I bought from them has been a lemon. Do not buy an Amman or Goodman A/C. You will regret it.

do not use these liars and cheaters. they installed a hot water heater incorrectly in a new home and after many phone calls the owner actually verbally threatened a young woman who was assisting me in trying to get justice for the failed water heater. the builder finally issued me a credit for $1000. the owner is a disgusting man.

My family is very disappointed with the service that we are receiving. When we were in the need of a new unit some months ago, quality was our priority. Unfortunately, now, with a serial of misleading solutions for our heating that never worked, we realize that the bad customer service is being a pattern in this company, that was believed to be reliable in the past. I wish I could have read this site before. If we only could have somebody to discuss the problem( available through pictures), steady of dealing with a team that seems to be in defense mode, we would be more understanding of not having our unit working properly. We are still waiting for an e-mail request from last week.

We were """"transferred"""" to Unique Air when Service Experts was bought out. Our first encounter of making an appointment for our scheduled maintenance required a """"discussion"""" with the rep so I could schedule an afternoon appointment rather than a morning (their next available). (I was willing to schedule a couple of weeks out for an afternoon appointment.) The technician was proficient, but not overly impressive. We requested a receipt, but was told everything was electronic now. Didn't get a warm-fuzzy feeling from this. I just got off the phone attempting to schedule our next semi-annual maintenance visit. The rep was not able to schedule anything for me - she had to check with the """"service maintenance scheduler"""" and she would call me back. Thirty minutes later, I called again and found the person was at lunch, but someone would call me back with a date & time. Again, I requested an afternoon appointment. Finally, the rep returned my call and wanted to set up a morning visit - when I again told her """"no - afternoon"""", she finally confirmed with the scheduler and the appointment got set up. ONE HOUR TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! Very unsatisfactory!!!!! When our maintenance contract is used up, we will be changing companies! UPDATE - Karen with Unique Air did call me back to help with my frustration of scheduling. She explained that the company has many technicians in the Bradenton/Sarasota area, however there are limited number of technicians in my area (Brandon/Hillsborough County), which is why they needed to contact the scheduler. (Still seems very strange procedure to me, though) They are able to schedule future appointments, so I scheduled my 2nd semi-annual appointment for this summer. She did make a valiant effort to keep me happy and keep me as a customer.

i bought the Groupon/yelp deal, scheduled the appointment for the next day with no problems through the secretary. I get a call later that day and I am told that they could not honor my appoint that next day because I bought the groupon/yelp deal, and that I had to wait 2 weeks for service. This was not mentioned in the fine print nor by the secretary when making the appointment. The reason I was told that my appointment could not be honored was that it was a groupon deal, and that it was not a priority to service customers that bought groupon/yelp deals and even though they had time to service the system on the day that was agreed upon they choose not to because I was not paying full price. Again I was told this after an appointment was made, and confirmed. Very unprofessional, and unreliable. Would never use or recommend their services. I would suggest going to another HVAC company, there are plenty to choose from. I they could be this bad over the phone I could imagine how untrustworthy they could be when actually servicing the system.

1 star is one too many. Here's a company that I've used for all my a/c and plumbing for 10 years. I had a yearly a/c service agreement with them that included a discount on any work they do. Recently I learned from them that I needed to replaced 4 rusted zone dampers. To assist the crew, I moved my car from one garage bay to another to be out of the way. But there was a TV in a box in the way, so I had to move it in order for my car to fit. I did.. Moved it to the back of the garage. The crew was here all day. Upon conclusion they presented me with a bill that included a little discount based on the terms of my service agreement. I paid them. A little later, I went to move my car back to my bay.. then replace the box with the TV. One problem. The TV was gone..!!!!!!!!!! There were three people on the property all day. The 2 workers and me. I talked to the manager at Unique and she tried to convince me that a neighbor must have wondered into my garage, looked around, ignored the two workers in there and took it. If the manager would have seen the neighborhood and the position of the home, she would not have made such a ridiculous comment. Next, the manager took my discount back... and charged my credit card. I immediately cancelled my service agreement. I'm sure that most of the technicians at Unique Air are honest workers... but at least one of them is not. How would you know if you are getting the one or more that isn't? There is no way I can allow this company into my home again. One thing for sure, this area has no shortage of A/C and plumbing companies.
