I had a service contract with ARS for years and had them install a new air handler/compressor and it is still under warranty. I am a """"snowbird"""" and can only use the service calls from January through May normally. Days after getting a reminder email to schedule maintenance my neighbor notified me that the unit was not running correctly and I called to have the unit checked on Sept. 15, after the hurricane and when the streets were cleared. """"JT (319890)"""" indicated the blower motor module needed to be replaced and the part would have to be ordered. Several calls to Unique to find out when the repair would be made. First, they had to call purchasing to try to get a status; a call back was promised. A day or so a follow-up was useless when the service agent tried and could not reach purchasing and said they would have to send them an EMAIL. This company does not work well together. On Sept. 22, 2017, the now module was installed and installation took less than an hour. The total bill was $1,199.00 with $611.00 covered by warranty (one hour!). The part cost $588.00 and I was billed $558.60. I complained and Melody told me that this was the """"book rate"""" for this repair. A later explanation was that travel time was part of the four hours. Unique's Naples office is twenty minutes away! On Oct. 30, after my monthly unit check by my neighbor, he said the fan was constantly running even though the thermostat was set at 78 and the outside temperature was in the 60's. Wayne (309427) came in, noticed the setting was """"on"""" and should have been set to """"automatic"""" and left after making some checks outside. I was billed $89.00 for their techs mistakenly leaving the switch """"on"""". I feel that this company did some price gouging after the hurricane. The flat rate charge had no direct relation to the actual time spent. It took one week to get the part and have it installed. Other neighbors had the same part installed in less than 48 hours by other companies. I am considering filing a complaint with the state's Attorney General about the possible gouging, but I will have to pay the charges because of the threat of """"going to collection"""".

A technician erroneously moved our air conditioning sensor, which flooded our pan and destroyed our ceiling in our 90-year-old historic home. I had videoed him moving the sensor and talking about his repair, which was ultimately done on the wrong pipe, so that I could show it to my husband instead of explaining it. When we emailed the footage to unique air, pointing out the error and requesting they repair the ceiling, it required several phone calls that became contentious. Finally after agreeing, the company sent a handyman to repair the ceiling, which was done unprofessionally and does not match, requiring us to hire a professional to remedy their erro. In order to not prolong the matter, we asked that they void our bill for $370 so as to partially pay for their error, which they did and sent a voided credit card statement via email. Fast forward a few weeks, and they have sent us to collection for the amount. While we could have had our attorney deal with it, it would have been cost prohibitive to enter a prolonged battle for $370. However beware that the staff in this company is clearly unethical, despite video confirming error on the technician's part and emails confirming voided invoices. I would suggest using Aqua Plumbing And Air, which is a family owned business with high standards and of course ethics. Jessica, thanks for reaching out to help. After our initial contact and your apologies for erroneously reporting us to the credit board, you never got back to me. I'm still waiting for an update.

I honestly don't know where to start. This company operates in a fashion that is unethical. We have been given the run around so many times regarding a billing issue. The communication is terrible. In addition they installed 2 new units in our home which continually have issues including a unit 2 years old which backflowed and caused mold damage in our home. Do not use this company. There are so many other reputable choices out there. We wish we had done our homework first.

My nightmare started the day the sales person walked in my front door , most of what he stated to us was dishonest. We were told for the next 12 years we would have NO out of pocket expense to care for the AC. unit they installed, he never told us after the 1st year we must join a maintenance plan which cost $24.00 per month for the so called Platinum plan & $49.00 each time your unit has an issue for a tech to come to our home. Funny when I hear the Darren Dixon from Unique radio commercial promoting the 12 MONTH PARTS/LABOR, nothing is mentioned about the need to have the maintenance plan!!! Unique's estimate was much higher then the other two companies, but being told NO out of pocket for the next 12 years was the trade off.....We thought wrong!!! I had an 8-12 appointment today, but was told they would be here closer to 8:30 since my plan has a ''NEXT'' Guarantee? They just called told me stating they are behind & would be coming after noon time!! This company is by far the worst from sales/dispatch & service I have ever dealt with. I hope our story helps someone who is in need of a new AC unit or in need of a new water heater/ plumbing issue or just an honest company for service to AVOID calling Unique, there are too many honest & reputable service companies that would appreciate your business...

We asked for a technician to come to our house as our air conditioning unit was running but not cooling. The same technician came previously for a checkup. This time he barely looked at the unit and said we needed a new one because the freon was low. He said he could fill up the unit with Freon, for $1000, but it would probably still leak and there was no way to determine where the leak was coming from. The technician, John, asked for a salesperson to come over which they did that same afternoon. We were quoted a price of $8100 to replace the unit which I thought was excessive. I had another company come over the next night and they filled the unit with Freon for $100 and would be able to determine the cause of the leak with a leak detector. He also quoted us for a new unit at $5400. In the meantime, Unique Air charged us $89 for a service fee for just showing up and doing nothing for us. I requested that the $89 fee be waived, but the """"CEO would not approve this"""". We have used this company at least three times and I now question how much overcharged we were. Since we were new to the area, we found this company in the yellow pages. The new company was a neighbor recommendation and I found their service to be acceptable and reasonably priced. I will never use Unique Air again.

Worst service from any company I have ever had! AC system not cooling, charged my bank account without my authorization, service techs do not have the equipment they need to even clean the coils, CSR extremely rude, never show up for appointments on time, the list goes on and on and I'm one of their """"Platinum"""" members. The last time they came out to service/clean the system the tech sprayed some foul smelling liquid from a garden sprayer on the coils but said his """"EcoClean"""" machine wasn't working so he couldn't clean off whatever he sprayed on so the house has smelled like dirty moldy sweat socks ever since. If they were the one and only AC company in the entire state you would be better off paying some homeless guy off the street to work on your AC. Update: The Tech they sent to """"correct"""" the problem was 1 1/2 hours late (appointment time was between 9am and 11am, arrived at 12:30) but it was clear that he had been overbooked. Jay was very knowledgeable and professional and did a great job cleaning the coils on the AC system. He also let me know that the UV light I paid Unique over $500.00 to install needed a bulb change since it had been 3 years and had never been replaced. When he said it would be $227.00 I said no thanks and found the same bulb on line for $45.00. I would give Jay's service a 5 Star review but my review of Unique remains the same.

Bunch of cheats who prey on seniors. Told me that the A/C unit needed to be replaced (only 1 year old). I called two other competitors and both said it was just a small repair needed. These guys are very sweet talkers and charge $25/month to just come and change the a/c filter and nothing else. The 10% discount they give for repairs is a big scam. I'm sorry but I do not want anyone else to get ripped off by them. The same company previously overcharged me on a plumbing job. Avoid them if you can. See another negative review posted here, I totally agree!

Do not use this company. I had their 24.00 a month monthly service which means they come out and clean your system twice a year and you get a certain percent off parts and service calls if you need them. My air was not cooling so of course I called them out. I was told that my coil would need to be cut out, cleaned and welded back in and it was going to cost 600.00. The service guy rigged my system up so it would blow cold air between service calls. He told me unique would call me to set up the coil service call. The rig job lasted 36 hours before the duct tape fell off and the house was 90 degrees again. Unique services didn't call me to set up the service, I had to call them. I was then told that they didn't do this type of work on Saturdays because they save Saturdays for emergencies. I guess the house being 90 degrees and me paying 24 a month for 11 months for a service I never used didn't count as being an emergency. So I was going to have to take a day off of work. I decided to call another company out for a second opinion. They cleaned the coil while it was still welded into the attic, and 1 hour later and 160.00 later, my system was blowing cold and has been since. I called the next day and canceled my monthly service and told them how unhappy I was with them, what I was told and that I felt like they were ripping me off. They promised me I wouldn't be charged the 24.00 service fee again and they apologized. Here I am 6 weeks later and they charged my account again for 24 dollars. Do not use this company, do not pay for the monthly service call, it will get you nothing. Yes they can give you a discount because they inflate their prices so high. Help yourself and get other opinions/ prices.

Horrible service. I only wish I could give less than 1 star. Our AC unit went out on a Thursday night, called Unique Air at 7am Friday morning, got a technician scheduled between 4-8pm. The technician finally showed up at 9pm, figured out we needed a new motor, but he did not have the one on his truck and would schedule another technician to come out on Saturday (never mind their ad says they show up on time with a fully stocked truck.) Called again Saturday morning at 7 am and at 9am to confirm someone would be coming out. At that point we were told we were not on the schedule and they would """"reschedule"""" us for Sunday. At that point we gave up on Unique Air and called Total Air, the technician called almost immediately, said he had the correct part needed on his truck and would be out within 3 hours. Long story short, DO NOT USE UNIQUE AIR if you want good service, there are plenty of other reputable companies out there!
