I have been ripped off by these people. I requested a technician to disconnect and reconnect my A/C unit so that my excavator could move my A/C unit cut down and remove a tree, the root structure of which, had tipped up my A/C unit. When the technician arrived he informed me that the cost of service would be $1600.00. I informed him that the charge for the service was outrageous. He offered to call his boss. I spoke to his boss directly and could get no satisfaction. While he did not dispute my work estimate of 2-3 hours, he insisted that the cost would be $1600. I told him I would not pay for that service and asked the service rep to leave. Fortunately my excavator hired a A/C tech to subcontract to him and the unit was disconnected, the excavator moved the A/C unit and the slab, upon which, it rested, he removed the tree and root structure, replaced the slab and A/C unit, and had the A/C reconnected, for a grand total of $1000. Then Unique had the nerve to charge my $89.00 for a service call. If the standard charge for a disconnect-reconnect was $1600.00, they didn't need to send someone out to tell me that, they could have informed me when I first placed the order. I'll never do business with these guys again.

What a joke! We had a new system installed after Christmas and it has worked about half the time the rest of the time we get excuses hung up on and a COMPLETE run around... would love to have working a/c especially with kids people on insulin pumps and since we BOUGHT A BRAND NEW SYSTEM ! I WOULD NOT ever recommend your services to anyone, this has been ridiculous.

i have a second ac unit (air handler) upstairs in a spare room. Unique installed 2010. first repair-new evap coil and 9lbs 410a 12/2013. second repair-replaced 40/5 capacitor 2/2014 third repair- 10/2017 replaced out of balance blower wheel, bad motor module not shutting off blower motor replaced. fourth repair- 5/2018 found refrigerant was empty, leak in evap coil leaking into my kitchen downstairs (the tech was late but we were really understanding and kind about it). fixed within 3 days 6/1/2018 but just 3 weeks later....(and a late tech visit, again we were understanding about it) 6/22/2018 empty refrigerant (does inhaling all that leaked refrigerant cause health concern?) big leak again inside air return soaked a second time, repaired. still have not replaced insulation in the return that was soaked with first event. just spoke with a install supervisor. apparently when my install took place a drip pan was not code requirement. later it became a requirement but unique didn't apprise me as a customer. i have the platinum warranty so techs have been to my home every six months. several have mentioned that i needed one and one actually led me to believe that was what they were going to do (which may have been the day they pulled the unit apart to do a repair) now that the system froze on or about 6/1 and left a hole 9ft x 18 in. in my kitchen below and leaked again 3 weeks later (hadn't fixed ceiling as i was waiting the pan thankfully) they would like to charge me to place one. i have $1000. damage to my ceiling and at least 2 checklists that say the maintained my pan that isn't there. I am told that I would be responsible to pay for the pan and they can set up install. no thank you. this is absurd. had i done the repair to my ceiling in the 3 weeks from leak to leak i would have to do it twice. I am disgusted with the multiple calls and finding out that a pan could have saved my ceiling. a pan they knew i didn't have and would need on a second floor. I have reached out to the 866 number in the other reviews but my call from Juan came after so i guess when the warranty on my systems is over, so too, will be my relationship with Unique.

Had an appointment between 12 to 4pm. I was to be the 2nd appointment Tech did not arrive until after 5pm. Told me if it was the blower motor he would have to order it. I waited 5 hours to an 87 degree house to hear that. I guess they can't afford to stock parts or something. Whatever the problem is with them, The customer is the one that suffers. Imagine sitting in a hell house in 90 degree weather for days waiting for a simple blower motor. That does it for me. This service is at the very bottom. I can say they were not like that a few years ago. I will be looking for another AC service company.

Installed a new ac system on Thursday 6-7. Installers did not have the new ducting we paid for. They came back out Friday 6-8. Turns out they previously installed a 3 ton unit instead of the 5 ton we paid for, so they spent Friday installing the correct unit. Installers left at midnight Friday without installing the ducts they came to do, as they did not have enough supplies. As they left, I was told not to turn the ac down too much as it was not hooked up correctly and could stop working. Fast forward to Sunday 6-10. Still had not heard from their supposed 24/7 customer service. I call them and am told a Chris has been made aware of the situation and would call me. Several hours go by and I call a few more times. I finally get a call back that basically says their install dept would call me tomorrow. This entire time my house will not cool below 80° during the day. I go to check outside by the unit and I see the duct work soaked and falling off the air conditioner, and full of water at the first bend. Call customer service again and am told a service tech would show up sometime between 8 and 10 the next day. They specifically said the tech would not be there to replace any duct work, which is obviously a major part of the problem.

Good service for sure but you're certainly going to pay TOP dollar for it. Compared to other most area HVAC companies, they're 40% higher. Communication is key in any business, and theirs was fair at best. I couldn't get a call back on a warranty item and what was (or wasn't) covered. My almost 4 year old motor relay was apparently bad, so they decided to replace the entire motor. It's a modular system, so it was """"plug & play."""" My $700+ payment was quickly collected for a 20 minute service call. The technician compared his services to a DENTIST. Painful, but short. Well, show me your advanced degree and I haven't heard my dentist compare himself to an HVAC guy lately (or ever). They (Unique) took over for another regional HVAC company out of Ft Myers, FL that no longer services our area (that's another YELP story) for HOME DEPOT installations. The Rheem system was a HD TOP recommendation for reliability anyway. Go figure. When you're a small company, you're customer focused and seek to appease the client to grow your business. As they've grown to $30MM+ and have been acquired a couple of times, the new owners (understandably) seek an ROI. That said, they have become numbers focused and the techs are quota driven, while the customer satisfaction has sharply declined. This means, I'm a number to them and a means to reach THEIR goal, not mine. It's a shame. Yes, it's a business, but there's a tipping point on a customers ability to stomach being force fed huge and unreasonable service fees. I'd feel better about paying my dentist coming over to service the system anyway. He wasn't as pompass.

Don't bother with these people. 3 weeks ago they came out and wasted an hour of my time because I asked them for a quote to replace an electrical panel. Said they would send me a quote the next day. Called a week ago to see what happened. Said they would send a quote the next day. It is amazing to me why people even bother being in business. These jokers can't even do the bare minimum. Stay away, far, far away.

Over $ 350 for 25 minutes of work cleaning an air conditioner drain. A complete rip-off. Will never use them again.

We have a gold contract with this company, meaning they are supposed to come on the day you call. EXCEPT the one day you need them, then they have excuses about not having staff and they don't come. I expected at least a call the next day with some explanation but that didn't happen either. I don't feel like they care to retain me as a customer and I plan to move on, lots of good companies out there, think I'll move to the company that DID come when I really needed them. This was a Sunday plumbing issue that needed attention that day.

This was our 3rd day with no a/c. The company we hired to solve our problem, Unique Services, was absolutely not helpful. Today they said they would be here between 6:00 and 10:00 pm. I find those hours ridiculous, especially since this would be their third trip here. It is now almost 10:30 and still no service person or phone call to advise as to their status. That's it for Unique Services. We'll find someone who is more responsive.
