A recent PECO power surge in our area resulted in significant damage to my 12/13 year old HVAC system. Rather than spend almost $3,000 to make repairs and get the system running again, I made the decision to replace the system now, rather than spend a significant amount of money for repairs now and then have to replace the entire system in another few years.
I spent a few days investigating options available through several different companies in the area. Had a couple of salespeople to my home; guys who ranged from very high pressure (the sign on the dotted line now type) to the normal salesman type. It was the professionalism and knowledge of the salesman from Unique Comfort, AKA ACE Home Services, Curt Keichline, who sealed the deal for me as far as which company to choose. Throughout the several days of my decision-making process, Kurt responded immediately - whether it be through calls, texts, etc. This sales rep from ACE epitomizes what it means to be a customer service-oriented salesman of integrity.
No matter the quality of the product or the reputation of the manufacturer, any HVAC system is only going to be as good as the work done by the professionals who install it. In this regard, I cannot praise the two technicians who installed my system, Dam Doan and Darian Benner, highly enough. These men arrived around 8:45 AM, worked the entire day without even taking a lunch break, and did not leave until about 6:15 PM! Before they left, they tested the system completely to make certain it was running perfectly. They also cleaned up after themselves, and removed every bit of trash and every part of the old system. These two men, very skilled and knowledgeable in the installation of HVAC systems, obviously take great pride in their work. Unique/ACE is very fortunate to have them on their team.
I would also like to commend Steve Eisnacher, ACE's top-notch electrician who installed the surge protection device on my indoor air handler. Steve attacked the job in a timely, efficient manner, and performed beautiful work. While he was testing the unit after the work was completed, he heard a slight whistling sound (barely audible; I didn't even notice it) coming from the inside ductwork. Instead of choosing to ignore it, he searched for and found the small area where some additional taping was needed on the inside of the ductwork. Within minutes, the whistling sound was gone and the unit was/ is in ""tip-top"" shape. I am actually looking forward to the heatwave which may be coming at the end of this week so that I can experience the system performing at its best!
I had been using Unique/ACE Home Services for regular maintenance and service on my old HVAC system, and had been very impressed by each tech who came to my home. This also was a deciding factor in my choice of company for the purchase and installation of my new unit. I can only say positive things about every person with whom I've dealt over the course of this year. This is a great team that Unique/ACE has here in their KOP operation. I have not had any interaction with even one disgruntled employee; that is saying a lot! Everyone seems to enjoy their work, and from what I have witnessed, they are really good at what they do. The fact that they are now backed with the strength and support of ACE Home Services serves to make them an even stronger and more formidable organization.
Each of the ACE Home Services employees with whom I have dealt deserves a great deal of credit on a job very well done. Thank you! It has been a pleasure doing business with you. I'm hoping that my recent Trane 20 SEER inverter HVAC system will provide me with many year of trouble-free service. However, should I encounter a problem or need to schedule annual maintenance checks, you can be certain that I will look no further than Unique/ACE.
We would def recommend this company. Mike Pagnottelli and his team gave us an affordable estimate, quick install date, and a great install. We are now cool in the summer heat!
Hired to PM by property manager, tech broke the condensate switch. No heat when I switched it on last night. Finally got a call from them at 4:30 to say they weren't coming for another day. Then they hung up. Fixed it myself. A $20 lesson on customer service / quality of service.
Russell C.I had Unique install a heat pump hot water heater (Rheem Professional Prestige ProTerra PROPH65 -T2-RH375-30 ) in December 2023. The hot water heater is working well 10 months later. However, they made two mistakes that haven't been corrected. First, they moved a saddle valve from the old tank to the new one even thought saddle valves are prone to leaking and a real valve should be used instead. Second, the water heater is over living space and the last leak flooded the room below it. Only an audible monitor was installed. This monitor is useless if a leak occurs when no one is home. Upon research I found that inexpensive monitors ($185) such as FloodStop Water Heater Leak Detector Kit with Automatic Water Shut-Off and Visual/Audible Alarms can be installed to shut off the water when the leak is detected. I liked the salesman but these two mistakes cause me to give a 2/3 star rating. I was thinking about using them to install a heat pump AC system but these issues are concerning.
I have a residence AC that was installed by Unique Comfort Co. as a Goodman manufactured unit for $10,000.00. They offer me maintenance package when I accept the installation. After the installation they said that they cannot do the maintenance after the year.
It now has only 3 years installed. I had to call OTHER company to begin the maintenance service although the unit is working well. They found MOLD inside the unit. They were willing to install a UV bulb inside the unit. However no diagnostic done like: why is this happening?. I called Unique Co. and they decided that I have to go directly through the Guarantee (10 years). Unique said to call Goodman Co. and provided me the phone number.
I did call, and surprise! The AC unit is not manufactured by them but by National Comfort. Probably made for them ""Unique Comfort "" (?)
Unique Comfort comes to your home and they appear as people to be trust but, they do not give clear information. All was a LIE: the maintenance, the manufacturer of the AC, even telling them and asking for a GOODMAN or CARRIER brand. Unique very secure, personally said that the unit to be install is a GOODMAN brand. I accepted the deal.
The problem is RELIABILITY of the products and of personnel service; in addition, the DECEPTIVE statements; they do not assume any responsibility . Unique Comfort Co. JUST SELL. THAT'S IT, NO MATTER WHAT!!
We all have encounters with businesses that are less than outstanding. But I've never, ever, dealt with a more unreliable, dishonest, and incompetent company than Unique Indoor ""Comfort."" Such a buffoonish irony in that name--nothing comfortable came from this company, its equipment or its ""repair"" technicians. This is the second, ghastly hot and miserable summer during which a brand new (13 months ago) HVAC system sold by Unique to my landlady (who's great) has failed over and over. I have a chronic disease from poisoned water fed to me at Camp Lejeune when I was in the Marine Corps, and heat is a very fast trigger of pain and disability. I barely got through last summer, but thIs year, the air conditioning failures started before Memorial Day and continued until a week ago, when an entirely different company had to make two major repairs of several hours each, including installing large return panels and ductwork. In any event, on multiple occasions the last two and a half months, I contacted the company by phone, including its emergency number, and was promised a call back, but none came. On one occasion on a recent Friday night when the system again failed entirely, I spoke to Customer Service Manager Joy Smith, who promised that she would send a technician. About 30 minutes later I received a call from ""Joe,"" who said he would NOT come, that he didn't care what Joy had promised, and that Joy should have checked with him first because he is ""a senior technician."" The same ""Joe"" had been to the apartment twice, and both times said the system was operating ""properly."" Yet on one occasion he said the system ""would struggle to cool if the ambient outside temperature is above 85 degrees."" 85 degrees, during a summer in which the ambient air temperature has been above 100 degrees F several times, and on many other days in the low to mid-nineties. Also, I asked ""Joe"" if I should be able to expect the system to cool to at least 73 degrees on those days, and he said ""yes,"" yet the system failed to do this on dozens of occasions when set to that temperature. And if the system was ""perfect,"" Why did Unique tell me they had to replace one part in the split unit that took 5 hours, a part designed to regulate refrigerant, and entirely replace the outside vent, which took two Unique technicians several hours and which they admitted was because the existing box THEY had installed was insufficient to reject heat. Joy Smith was remarkably unpleasant to deal with, promised service visits that never happened, tried to put me off even when I told her the system was failing, and told me frequently that all the techs said everything had been fixed. The GM of Unique, responding to my complaint to the Attorney General of PA's office, also admits that unnamed Unique employees illegally recorded conversation(s) with me in violation of PA law, which required my consent and which I did not give. There's a lot more I could say, but all I need to say is to avoid this company like the plague...unless you want to swelter in summer and freeze in winter, and have incompetent people spying on you.
After a clerical error caused me to not get the expected results, they have sent a Tech out and are making good on service of my ac unit that may have a freon leak. We are awaiting the result. Having to turn the ac on for a bit and let it freeze and then off when it barely works at the moment is a pain, but it is the process. So hopefully this fixes it. The tech's have always been prompt and friendly. Apparently they are becoming more incorporated with ACE and I hope the same service continues.
Robert M.?? this is regarding the King of Prussia location . On May 8th 2024 a technician named Yogesh Arora came over for the annual system check. For no reason whatsoever, without provocation he sprayed a water bottle in my Huskies face . I was stunned and did not say anything. I thought about it after he left and I called the office and spoke to a manager named Joy smith. Her response was, he meant no harm! Are you kidding me? Is that a professional? No apology . Is that how they conduct their business ? Sounds like that's something they condone . I subsequently put a review on google. They told me to take it down . I said no . I called on June 24th 2024 to have them come out and look at the system. They refused and said that my account was suspended. I still have a contract until August 18th 2024. It's against the law to to terminate a contract because of a Google review. I contacted my attorney Jennifer mckay. She told me I will have to get someone else in here get to work done present it in court then sue them. Two time consuming and costly. So they escaped one bullet but they're not escaping the second one. I'm putting reviews everywhere. I contacted the Better Business bureau. I contacted main headquarters of ace. Both of those organizations will be getting back to me. I am a fighter, I am Relentless and I will not give up for something that I believe in. I was thinking hope that the Better Business Bureau and Aces made headquarters will come to a resolution. Because their reputation will be tarnished if not. In addition I'm going to try to get this on the news. And they do stuff like that. I've already contacted the channel 3 and fox. I have 6 10 and 17 to go.
I hope they fire Joyce Smith. Prior to her and when I first got the unit in August of 2022 there is a manager named David Mills . He was a very nice man . He listened and he said he wanted to make things right and he did. That's how I got an extra year contract because of all the screw UPS the first four months. It's a shame he left. He was professional he was good for the company she is a thorn in their side with an attitude and actions like that.
?? I will continue to fight effortlessly . I don't think she ever imagine that someone would fight this hard for something that they believed in. I believe that eventually she will regret for not making a simple apology. Because that's why all this is happening. Totally unprofessional .

I had Unique install a new water heater in December of 2020 at a cost of $1,250. Fast forward to May of 2024 and it's no longer working. I pay them $99 to diagnose the issue and am told they will get back to me on the fix. They then send me a $1,433 estimate to fix the 3.5 y/o water heater. They clearly don't stand by their work or use quality products. Unless you want to pay for a new water heater every few years, I highly recommend you look elsewhere
From exploring various thoughtful options to getting a reasonable quote to a thorough installation, Unique's staff was very professional. It's evident that they enjoy their work and complete each installation with care.
