Fantastic service!! I called on a Thursday morning and got Nick on his mobile phone on the way to another job. I had started repairs on the incoming water line into our house and had run into a few complications that I wanted a professional to take a look at.
He was great! Listened to the details of what I'd done, gave me a quick rough guess estimate on what the cost would be for the additional work and said he be by as soon as he finished his current job.
He arrived exactly when he said he would, quickly assessed the situation and made the fix under budget!
It's always so refreshing to find local businesses like Union Jack Plumbing, honest, upfront and gets the job done. Highly recommended!

Totally exceeded our expectations! Nick was perfectly professional and an absolute joy to work with. He had no trouble with the relatively small jobs we had around the house. An excellent plumber, great communicator - punctual, courteous, honest. We're delighted to recommend Union Jack Plumbing!

Nick, owner of Union Jack Plumbing, is highly competent, reliable, honest, easy to work with, and charges reasonable rates. It doesn't get better than that!
Nick has done a total of three jobs for us. Each time I called him, he returned my call when he said he would, scheduled the job quickly, and gave me "best case" and "worst case" arrival times. On the scheduled day, he called 20-30 minutes before he arrived, and was well within his estimated arrival time.
Nick installed a toilet a few years ago. He installed it quickly and efficiently, and removed the old toilet. It hasn't given us a moment of trouble. Today, he fixed a leaky shower with parts he had in his truck and even took the time to polish up our moldy shower fixtures! He also advised me that instead of installing a new shower stall, we could simply replace the old shower fixtures with new ones at a much lower cost. Our kitchen faucet was not running at all, so I was prepared to buy either a new fixture or a major replacement part. Nick, however, looked for the simplest solution first. In no time at all, he had fixed the faucet by cleaning and replacing a small, inexpensive part and removing an unnecessary part that impeded the flow. The water flow now is stronger than it has ever been.
My experience with Nick has been uniformly good. I highly recommend Union Jack Plumbing.

I am not sure where these other reviewers are coming from but I called Union Jack Plumbing based on the reviews. Bottom line, get a firm price quote in writing before you agree to have him do the work. Nick quoted me $300-500 "worst case" to replace my tub/shower valve but he told me that since my wall was already opened up, it should be less. I purchased the valve and the job was straightforward. The work was done in an open attic where the back of the wall was exposed. Later that day, I received a bill for $750 after the work was completed! No warning, no excuses, just a bill for double what he quoted. I was in a hurry so I just paid him but called him back within an hour to rant and rave my disgust. I told him that we would either need to come to some agreement over the price or I would call my cc company to dispute the charge. He seemed surprised, said that he would refund what I thought was fair and said he doesn't want to do business with me again. I agreed to pay him what his top quote was, which was $500. He promptly sent me a check the next day, with a very nice apology note, which made me feel better about him but still. He did a nice job but you can't do business by quoting a job and then not sticking by it.

Nick is a delight---clean, courteous, friendly, professional. Our job was simple: replace a drinking water filtration system. The existing system was too complex for our lower pressure water supply.
When I called, I did get his machine, including the warning that he may take two business days to respond. In fact, he responded later that day, and he was able to schedule me just 2 days out. You should take his warning seriously; if you have an urgent job I might recommend calling someone else. And yet, if you can wait, enjoy the pleasant surprise if he responds quickly.
He arrived when he said he would, calling ahead on his way out from his previous job. His work was quick, complete, and precise. He did some cleanup above and beyond the original job; since it was at my expense, he asked me in advance, of course, so there was no surprise. I'm glad he did it; I have more confidence in the final product. He cleaned up after himself, so the kitchen as clean as when he arrived. That is much appreciated.
And of course, he wore the trademark overalls, so no plumber's crack here.
All told, a great plumbing experience. I happily recommend him to others.

Nick fixed my water heater valve problem for a third of the price that I was quoted elsewhere. He worked fast, showed up on time, and left me with nice, hot water.

Great service, told me what I needed on the phone.
Had the water feed for the house break and he was able to fix without me getting rid of the tree in the way first.
I've used him before and would recommended to anyone. He is very honest and easy going.

Grumpy Cat could totally learn a thing or two from this guy. I am always impressed with people who are in such a good mood so early in the morning. He has always arrived on time and worked fast and efficiently. This last time he came out he not only gave me a "Union Jack" flashlight/pen (which is quite awesome) but also fixed a bolt on our toilet seat that I didn't even ask him to do. He is great and definitely our "go to guy" for all our plumbing woes.

Its Saturday and we woke up to water flooding from the kitchen celing. We called Nick, who we had used once before. He was out to our house with an hour. Identified the problem, fixed it, cleaned up afterwards and explained everything as he was going along. And to make it even better his rates are very reasonable even for coming out on a Saturday.
We would highly recommend Union Jack Plumbing if you are looking for a great quality work in Austin.

Nick was on-time and professional, called prior to the appointment time to let me know he was on his way over. Fixed two leaky showers in under an hour, kept the work area tidy and left the area clean on his way out. Union Jack will be my go-to plumber in Austin from here on out.
