Union City Plumbing recently repaired a broken main line at my house. They had the knowledge to quickly diagnose the situation and the tools and experience to immediately fix the problem without scheduling another appointment. This seems rare these days and I am extremely pleased. I just received their invoice and it was lower than I expected considering the damage. Well done!

This company put in the plumbing to my house. So far the quality of the work is good. The workers have always been exceptional.
However, we had a problem with the outside spigot freezing, and they said it would be a $200 trip charge that included 1 hour of labor. It took 45minutes to fix. All said and done they charged me 2.5 hours of labor because of ""trip"" time. They took off a half hour of labor after I complained but still... They should have charged me the trip fee of $200 and the parts, not 2 hours of labor plus parts.
Their trip fee apparently does not include the trip time to drive to your house.
Very disappointed and wont be using them again

I have used Union City for my plumbing needs for over 16 years and they continue to exceed expectations on each visit. Responsive, timely and excellent value.

I moved up to Shelton last year and had Union City Plumbing come and do a replacement and install for a new water heater that had a back flow tank.
Now, 14 months later, the brand new water heater they installed was leaking. I called them, specifically, thinking they would stand by their work. They came out once, did a hose replacement they hoped would fix it. It did not. They came out again and replaced a T-junction. They showed us that it was an incorrect part, meant for gas lines, and the water corroded it and that's why it was leaking.
I got a bill for the two visits (half off, since they were here maybe 15min each visit) and the parts.
When I called in regards to this, they said they had no record of installing the back flow and the T-junction, so I have to pay.
While I understand they cannot verify it, and a trust system is not a way to run a business, I no longer trust them, nor would I recommend their business.
It was not reassuring to hear that their service is only covered by a 90 day guarantee, either. Especially when mentioning the incorrect part that would take longer than that to corrode.
The whole thing has left me feeling cheated, like I got bait and switched.

These guys Rock we have used them a few times and know their stuff.
Highly recommend them.

Used to rely on Union City but my last experience sealed it. Had a run on toilet and the new valve they installed is a piece of shit. Every two weeks it comes off at the hinges and the toilet sucks up lots of water that pushes my septic tank to the limit.
Tonight their website is off line. Do not rely on them.

I moved to Shelton 2018 and had a clog in my sewer clean out - roots. They replaced everything, concrete seal was broken/cracked in spots. Then my gas line was hit while crawl space was cleaned out and new floor insulation installed. Gas Co shut it off and Dave came to fix the gas leak. He did a visual survey under my house and showed me pixs of the toilet stack that was old, rotted and leaking. Saved up and replaced all the sewer lines under the house. Utility sink by washer always backed up during wash. They fixed that too! And it wasn't expensive, it was done by excellent workers and done quickly. Don't call anyone else.

We had Union City Plumbing come out to our house in July a week or so after we had our septic pumped. The toilet in our bathroom farthest from the septic was plugged. We hadn't had our septic pumped in quite some time I thought it might be a good idea, since he was going to be there any way, to run a snake through all of the lines as a preventative measure. When he was out there, he looked at the toilet and I told him what I wanted to have done. Before he did anything, he went outside and looked at the septic tank. He said that the septic tank was full past the baffle and had not been pumped properly. He said that if he did the work I wanted him to, it wouldn't do any good since the bad septic work would cause the pipes not to drain right. He then took a picture of the septic opening and said that I should go back to the septic pumper and tell him to do his job right (AAA septic). Then he left.
I called AAA septic and they came back out and reexamined the tank. He brought out a long clear hollow tube and inserted it to the bottom of the tank to the top. He closed the tube so the water wouldn't escape and brought the entire tube to the surface. He showed me that the tank had only clear water in it from the top to the bottom as it should have. He said that the septic appeared to be fine and that plumbers don't always know the correct information about what different septic tanks should look like.
At this point I felt like I was wasting my time having Union City Plumbing out. So far, they had only created more work and hassle for me, so I decided I was going to go get a good plunger and clear the toilet myself. I went to Toziers and did just that. The toilet cleared easily and we have not had any problems since!
A couple of months ago Union City Plumbing contacted me and said that they hadn't heard back from me regarding what happened when I talked to AAA about the septic and that I owed them money for the service call. I emailed them back explaining what I had found out and that I didn't think I should be charged for them coming out to my house, not doing anything, and causing me a lot of extra trouble. I didn't hear back from them and assumed it had been resolved.
Today (2 months later) I received a call from them while I was at work asking to be paid. I referred them to the email I wrote them (which they found-still unopened!). They said what I experienced didn't matter, someone had come out and given me advice and therefore I still owed them money even though they didn't do any physical work for me.
Keep in mind: 1) The plumber was giving me advice regarding knowledge he had about septic tank work. 2) The actual septic people (AAA Septic) who are experts in septic work showed me that the septic tank was fine. And 3) Since I plunged the toilet, we have had no problems (for 5 months). One would think if in fact the plumber had been correct in his dire predictions that we would have had some sort of problems by now.
I will now be writing them the check that they asked for but you can bet that I will NOT be calling them again. You have been fore warned!!!

Our Oyster Bay kitchen sink faucet system leaked so bad we had to shut off the water. Joe came out that day and gave us a rundown on the best products to buy. The Moen faucet arrived on Tuesday, and Joe was back on Wednesday morning. They squeezed us in on a busy week - much appreciated. Joe is a cool guy. SO glad we found this company!

Diagnosed a hot water heater problem immediately, and had the parts in the truck - so it was fixed within the hour!
