I called the number I had previously used for service at my rental property since the solenoid on my gas furnace was having a problem and the heat wouldn't come on. I explained to the operator that I had previously used UGI heating and plumbing division to do my bi-annual service on this furnace. The operator said she couldn't find me in their system, that this Homeserve company just took over UGI's service last year and, would need to call UGI. She called me back and gave me prices to send someone out and I said fine. Then she tried to enter my info into the system and was unable to do it. She then informed me that because I didn't have a ""policy"" with their company, she was unable to send a technician out. I don't know what happened to UGI's service division but their customer service is horrible. You shouldn't have to buy a policy from your gas company to service/repair your gas furnace. I wish there was another company that I could use for my gas supply.
This is the company to buy a yearly service contract with. They are immediately responsive and always fix what's needed. With a service contract repairs are covered. I call with an issue and they are there the same day including weekends. Other companies offering service contracts and not immediately responsive and DO NOT have enough manpower to service your problems during odd hours or weekends. The technical staff at UGI know more then most junior techs at places like service pro. Prices are way cheaper at UGI then Essigs
Joe T.We moved from the Reading area to Ephrata and had furnace problems. I didn't renew my maintenance contract since I was really busy and wasn't sure if they supported propane furnace in a manufactured home. They did and when I called this morning the tech arrived at 11am. He diagnosed the problem within 30 minutes and got us running. We had used a local company and they took five days and never resolved the issue. The furnace is 16 years old and needs to be replaced, which I will only trust UGI to take care of. I also made sure my maintenance plan was paid for the year.
We had UGI natural gas in our old home for 19 years and had the maintenance plan for six years. Well worth the cost for complete piece of mind.
Sales rep gave us a price for a new furnace on 1/6/2020 and they installed it today 1/8/2020. You can't ask for better service than that. Unfortunately we found that the condenser-coil is bad and since the a/c is just as old, they will come back in late March to replace them. Not what we wanted to hear but at least we know what we are in for.
I called UGI HVAC when I had a gas leak because I had received such competent and kind service from UGI Corporation techs in identifying the leak. Not so UGI HVAC. The technician I was sent changed a valve instead of fixing the leak on the fuel line behind the wall. When I still had the leak, I called UGI HVAC and was told their technicians don't cut through drywall. I suggested a refund for fixing a valve that didn't need to be fixed and not fixing the problem. A supervisor was supposed to call me about my complaint, and I have yet to receive a call.
Theresa L.I spent a ton of money and had a tankless boiler put in my home 11 years ago by another company and had nothing but problems from the second year on.
After continually fixing problems, some of which couldn't be repaired because there were no longer parts available, I had UGI come and give me an estimate on its replacement.
Not only did the guys finish a 3 day job in one day so I wouldn't be without heat, they came back at my convenience to do some minor clean up, etc. I couldn't be happier with the service I received.
The whole process was excellent customer service from beginning to end. I highly recommend this company if you want things done right the first time!
A tech was sent out to repair our heater, which the issue was found during a service check. He was on time and very professional. He repaired the heat furnace and also serviced the ac again, that apparently the first person may have missed, because our ac stopped working 2 days after it was serviced. He did a good job.
Easy to schedule service and good follow up. Would give 5 stars, but the always ask what phone number to call before coming, but never call that number. Technicians are always polite and efficient, and fully explain what they did to resolve the problem.
Every time we have had a UGI technician in our home, they have been very nice and extrremly professional. They always call before they arrive and they get the job done in a timely manor. When our airconditioning unit stopped blowing cold air they got us on the schedule and they had us fixed in no time flat.
I signed a contract with UGI HVAC to increase the size of my PVC and put scoops in my ducts to correct some issues. They changed the PVC but opted to cancel part of the contracted work and instead they inserted two flex hoses into the plenum in a desperate attempt to dump heat into two unused returns. This gave me no meaningful improvement and my furnaces continued to go off on limit. Subsequently, after that attempt, they also shut down one of my furnaces. Later they returned with one of the big bosses and offered me another solution, which they also backed out of after they found out I was getting other opinions for the job.
I was like, ok, I'll just move on, and absorb the loss for an incomplete job, but things got worse from there. After inviting other contractors in to see what could be done, I was convinced that those flex hoses which UGI HVAC installed needed to be removed. So I asked UGI repeatedly to remove those flex ducts, and lastly one of their guys who wrote up the first contract texted me, saying that it would cost me $350.00 to remove those ducts, but that he preferred that I deal with another contractor. This was after I put down a $1000.00 towards the job. They told me that the partial work for half of the job they did was worth $800.00, and they would refund me $200.00.
Now about a month after they shut down one of my furnaces, only leaving the blower working on the second one (the two furnaces were twinned together), a leak developed in the one they left running. At that point I called UGI, because I also have a maintenance contract with them. The UGI service technician came to my house, saw the problem, and then he put in an order for the part needed to correct the problem. The next day I got a call from Bill, one of the big bosses, and he said that he was cancelling my maintenance contract. Am I really supposed to believe that this is just a coincidence that my contract is being cancelled during the follow-up of a service call, just before the technician could return with the part to fix my furnace? This is the second contract that they walked away from in less than 3 months. I was also told not to bother their representative. They advertise ""peace of mind"", but after my last experience the only thing I felt was unjust targeting and retaliation. I have three kids and I'm trying to keep them warm, but signing contracts with UGI offers me no peace of mind. After Bill cancelled my service contract, my wife cried through the night. It's such an abuse of authority to punish the customer who puts their trust in you.
Well after that, Comfort Pro came by with a Heil rep, as I have Heil furnaces. Craig from Comfort Pro then offered me an affordable solution. They did the job, made the adjustments, and my furnaces now work fine together without going off on limit.
Scott B.This company is the worst HVAC. Service messed up my phone number twice, and the second day a service tech showed up and couldn't work on my furnace. Then I was told that customer service miss quoted me and it was 200 more then I expected. In my opinion if you want to wait 3 weeks for service go ahead, and you want to pay hundreds of dollars more, these are your guys!
