Everyone in the Houston area has been looking for verified plumbers over these last few weeks. I personally used beacon for a broken sprinkler pipe after the freeze, and though it was incredibly expensive, we were obviously desperate to get it fixed. I mistakenly referred their business to several family members since then, and it seems as though when discussing payment options, the manger hung up on the home owner. I will definitely not be referring their services again. Completely uncalled for and unprofessional, verified or not.

These people are taking advantage of vulnerable people after Winter Storm URI. Our kitchen sink has had low water pressure ever after we lost water during the storm. These guys came in and said they needed to replace 3 L stops and the kitchen faucet for $1500! Parts would be less than $100, the rest would be profits. Crazy. We politely paid their trip fee and let them go on their merry way. Do not use these folks. Absolutely terrible

Installed a cracked valve stem to "fix" a shower/tub that wouldn't stop running. That cracked part leaked water into our ceiling and required water restoration/repair. They claim to be 24/7, but did not respond to our numerous calls or texts about the leak they caused at 5 pm until 8 am the following day, and did not send anyone out to fix it until later.
Despite being told by the plumber who installed and admitted fault for the work that Beacon would make it right, Beacon was unresponsive and combative when asked to stand behind their work and pay fair value for the repair. Ended up having to file an insurance claim; hopefully Beacon's insurance went up from the subrogation.
I would never use this company again, and would recommend people find a different plumber - one who will stand behind their work.

First and foremost - the staff with Beacon were courteous and kind. I have no qualms with their professionalism. However, I felt the costs were very high for the service. I was quoted at approximately $520 and ended paying a total of $920 for three shower handles and a single bath spout to be replaced.
Initially I was assured that the job would only take an hour, at most an hour and a half. Despite the higher costs of the job, I had some rust on one of my old handles preventing me from removing it and decided to proceed with Beacon.
On the day of the job, the plumber purchased the wrong item, despite him telling me that everything would be "headache free." Little did I know the handles were not the right types and later needed to be replaced again. About 1.5 hours in when I believed the job to be near complete the plumber stated additional work must be done as the valve stems were going bad. This job was another $400 of labor, and I was told the replacement would be quick. It was a huge unwelcome surprise as I had hoped the initial quote was close to the total costs and I expected the business to foresee issues in advance and not during the job itself.
Almost 5 and a half hours go by until the job was semi-complete. Between obtaining wrong parts, installation, and promise of completing within thirty minutes, an hour, and then much longer I ended up missing work that day. It took another scheduled day, three other plumbers, and 1.5 hours to properly complete what I considered a fairly straightforward install.
The estimate was free, but the costs were substantial compared to other businesses. I was also unable to get the handle and color that I requested, and therefore can't say I'm completely satisfied with the work.

I have been having problems with all of my outside faucets, however, that's due to the fact that I haven't done anything with them since I purchased my home 15 years ago. I did my due diligence and was pretty certain the backflow preventers had gone bad since water sprays out everywhere at the point where the hose connects to the faucet. The set pins had been installed and broken off at the ends so the last thing I wanted to do was break out a drill and spend time trying to drill the pins out just to remove the preventer. I Reached out to a number of plumbing services and I'd say 90% of them were charging a fee just to come out and provide an estimate. Almost none of them would give an estimate to perform something that was already a given.....replacement of the backflow preventer. I have no problem paying extra for additional work if my prognosis about the backflow preventer being the main problem is found to be incorrect but it's pretty evident that the plumbing industry saturated with nothing but scam artists looking to maximize their profit. You would think in this time of COVID people would be trying harder to win your business but nope, gotta charge you just to come out instead of giving you a more warm and fuzzy feeling by simply saying "hey we'll come out, diagnose, and offer you a free estimate". Especially in this case when I already know what needs to be done. I
So with that said, I was able to narrow my list to the only 2 plumbing services that would come out and diagnose for free. John Moore and Beacon Plumbing. I'd used John Moore in the past to repair my AC unit and had a good experience so I started with them first. The guys that came out were nice enough but one of them, I think the helper, kept trying to give me a 101 on how a faucet worked and what the purpose of a backflow preventer is even though I had just told them exactly what the problem was and what I needed done. The main guy realized I wasn't the average clueless homeowner so he basically just told me he couldn't change out just the preventors but had to replace the entire setup bib and all. Quoted me a ridiculous $400 to do 3 of them and I politely declined and let them know I would be in touch if I changed my mind .
Beacon was the only other service that would come out to diagnose and provide a free estimate. Sent out all of my information to them and set up an appointment for the next day. Communication was top notch. I started receiving txt messages shorty after scheduling the appointment and continuously got them up until the plumber arrived. Tanner and I assume his helper showed up and listened to my self diagnosis summary and after briefly looking at each faucet (I have 4 outside total) Tanner agreed that I needed to change out the preventers. He quoted me $65 a piece. 3 out of the 4 were bad and 1 was still okay but I figured I might as well change them all out. Tanner and his helper immediately went to work and knocked all 4 of them out in around 30 min tops. He had to drill the set pins out on 2 but didn't on the other 2.
The fact that he didn't give me the usual BS that home contractors always give you on doing more than you need to was reason enough to use them on the spot. The second thing is that based on my research their pricing is spot on, in fact, it was slightly cheaper than the norm. They were professional as well as they wore masks and used booties to keep the inside of my home clean from debris (Two of the outdoor faucets are located on my balconies that can only be accessed through the inside of the home).
Great experience overall! Highly recommended!!

Very friendly, knowledgeable service provider. I needed two very minor fixes, that literally took less than 5 minutes each. I simply needed a clamp around a tube to prevent leaking, and the second was an adjustment to the water pressure and temperature with the mere turning of some nozzles below in my restroom. The charge was ~ $160.
I enjoyed the fast, friendly efficient service, but it will cost you, and maybe more than what the actual problem is, which is what I feel happened in my case.

An appt was set up with Beacon for Friday 4 - 6. Then I received a text from them saying they would be there 2 - 4. I had to call office to figure out what was going on. Then they send another text saying proper time. Then they call at 3:20 and say they are on their way. At 4 I call asking where Matt is. He says he is lost. I ask where he is. He says he doesn't know and is asking me where he is. I tell him I do not know. I give him directions and wait another 20 minutes. He is still lost. Bottom line---NO SHOW!!! Made me wait for over an hour! Then he won't answer phone. Owner is out of town so I guess they don't care about customer service.

BEWARE OF BEACON! We used them to replace our galvanized pipes throughout our home. They showed up on the scheduled date (which was scheduled 2 weeks in advance) with the wrong tools and said they needed to come back the next day. This was where the shitstorm began.
The men doing the work told us that Beacon gave them the wrong materials and they needed to come back another day. The day the work was completed, my husband and I woke up at midnight to a dripping sound. There was a massive leak in our bedroom and the ceiling had a huge ballon or leaking water. The crew returned and fixed the joint that was leaking.
BRAND NEW PIPES and it LEAKED!!! It blows my mind how this is possible then again they were working so quickly and were given the wrong materials.
The icing on this shitty company cake is that the crew who performed the work (most of whom didn't speak English and were from a different plumbing company) knocked on my door a few days later asking us for money. BEACON TOLD their subcontractors that we didn't pay them and that we filed a lawsuit!!!! We paid in advance so they lied to their subs and I hope that those workers get paid.
I can't make this shit up but I would NEVER RECOMMEND BEACON! Stay away! They lie, have horrible customer service, and do a terrible job!

They were able to come within a couple hours after I called -on a Sunday!- to fix a clogged kitchen sink. Omar was friendly, professional, offered options and was upfront with pricing. He was quick and thorough. Definitely will call them again!

I have several homes so over the years I have dealt with many contractors. I must say Beacon Plumbing is one of the most professional, honest, and hardworking professionals I've had the pleasure of dealing with. Long story short, I tried to do a bit of plumbing work and ended up in a tough situation on a Sunday night (broken off moen shower cartridge). I called Beacon and got in contact with Joshua. He was able to set me up with an appointment immediately. So at 9 pm on Sunday night, Matt came out to the house to help. He wasn't able to complete the work that night but they promised me an appointment first thing in the morning when they had the right tools. They did not even charge me for the visit that night. The next day, Omar came and fixed the problem. All for a very reasonable price. No upsells or shams. I will not hesitate to call them again.
