Michael S.With the family spending significantly more time at home due to Covid, we have opted to use this time to tackle a long list of maintenance to-do's, which included replacing our nearly 20-year-old HVAC system. Since we knew this would be significantly larger expense than a cup of coffee, we opted to get quotes from several firms, Twin Air being one of them. From the time Jeremy with Twin Air arrived, he was both pleasant and personable and took interest in understanding how my family lived within the home and what challenges we were hoping to address with a new HVAC system. Jeremy also took time to carefully draw out the existing HVAC system and how the various ducts connected to our existing equipment. Before leaving Jeremy indicated that we would have various system options ranging from low cost to higher cost, with each level addressing some of the comfort concerns we had discussed during our visit.
Upon reviewing the quotes, we opted to make a significant investment in modernizing our HVAC system and chose the option which we felt would best address our various comfort issues. This was higher than we had originally projected, but unfortunately, addressing issues is rarely inexpensive and Twin Air was very accommodating in working with us to get our new system installed.
Fast forward to installation day and the team at Twin Air came with a full crew of installers. From start to finish the install took about two days. The first day was spent removing and installing all the new equipment, while the second day was spent wiring up the new zoning equipment and testing. The team was respectful of our space and took great lengths to ensure that all their debris was removed at the end of each day never leaving a trace that they had been in the home working.
After our initial installation, we discovered that due to the way that our existing ductwork was installed when our newly zoned first and second floors would operate the basement was turning into a walk-in meat locker. We contacted Jeremy once more and he was quick to come back out and see if there were any easy fixes to try and resolve our newly created basement issue. After careful review, we realized that the only way to truly fix our issue was to run all new basement ductwork and install a dedicated basement zoning damper. Once again Twin Air worked with us, and we once again saw the Twin Air team arrive in full force. They made the installation of the new ductwork once again look easy.
Having worked with various service companies in the past, I can say that Twin Air is a small business who is passionate about the work they do and will go out of their way to ensure the client is happy. As I write this review, I am sitting in a basement that for the first time in more than decade nor longer feels cold.
Jeanette W.We had a terrible experience with this company and found them to be very dishonest. We were charged $400 and we still have no working AC. When they first arrived they said a new part was installed. They did say the AC needed to be replaced but the new part would buy us some time. 4 hours later we called them again and they revisited because the system did not restart. At the second visit they the system died completely. I asked what was the $400 charge for? Their response was for the visit. They said they would disconnected the AC from the house so it won't pull anymore electricity and send us estimated for a new unit. We went outside and found they never disconnect the unit at all. This makes us wonder if they ever perform any work and installed any new part. They said they were going to provide us estimates for new AC. We never received the estimates from them. We were using their preventive maintenance plan for several years. What a waste of money. The one time we called them to repair we were disappointed in their service and most importantly how dishonest they were. Shame on them. Do not use their plans, in face I recommend everyone stay away from this company. I don't trust them at all. They won't be getting any money from this household anymore.
The operate and technician are both very pleasant and friendly. The people working for Twin Air are very knowledgeable, reliable, and accommodating. When they corrected a very bad and unsafe gas furnace installation for us in 2015, we knew we wanted to hire this company for our regular service. They are experts in the HVAC field and very honest. We have been extremely happy with them. Today I got tied up at work and the service scheduler called the technician and let him know I would not be home by noon. He was kind enough to wait for me near my home so I could get back home from work. I highly recommend this company for your HVAC needs.
Wow, I just received the best service from Twin Air. I have used other companies and this one is by far the best in service and pricing. My brother's unit was not working in his condo - a tech came out - diagnosed the problem and I received a call with the quote to repair. Was told that the unit is still under warranty (how honest!!!) and was given a fair price for the work. Very grateful that I went with this company after having read their recommendations on my next door group. Highly recommend.
Donald S.I had an appointment for them to come out and repair a simple gas leak in my house. they cancelled the appointment without a reason and never showed up. unreliable company be very careful if you use them
Disclaimer: I did not user Twin Air for any HVAC services
TLDR: Tollie at Twin Air was the the most honest and knowledgeable professional that I dealt with during my kitchen renovation.
Tollie was recommended by the general contractor who was consulting on my kitchen renovation.
After I was sold a stove hood that had a 450 CFM venting system I found out that national code required me to install a recovery air system to my HVAC system. This would cost roughly $2000 in additional HVAC and electrical work. Despite many attempts, the appliance company was unhelpful on a return or providing any guidance around the value of a hood with 450 CFM vs a lower CFM model.
I called about 10 different HVAC companies to get a quote on the work required. Tollie was the only one who knew what was required and the national code I was referring to. He came out to my house to review the site and give a quote. Not only was he honest about the fact that he thought I shouldn't have the new hood installed but he was able to explain the pros/cons of the hood I bought (something the appliance folks couldn't), discuss the quotes I had received for other items (gas line plumbing), and provide guidance on how to work with the appliance folks to return the hood.
In the end I didn't end up using Twin Air's service only b/c Tollie was able to give me honest feedback and guidance. I will be using them in the future though for any HVAC or plumbing related needs.
And as a bonus I found him professional, kind, and extremely enjoyable to talk with.
T B.The best! We have been using tween air for six years for our regular maintenance. On one other occasion we were having an issue with our system and they came within hours to fix it. And then there was tonight... On one of the coldest evenings of the year, our heating upstairs stopped working at 7 PM. I called and they dispatched Jonathan to our home within 45 minutes! Problem was fixed within 30 minutes of his arrival!
Going on 8yr now and absolutely the best!!!!
The terrific yelp reviews are well deserved. I called them around 9am about my thermostat issue and Henry was at my house by 11:30am. He was very professional, clearly explained the problem, and had the system working in no time at a very fair price. I will definitely get a service contract with them as honesty and top quality work are hard to find these days.
Twin Air is great, very responsive, knowledgeable and reasonable. We are very confident John our technician. Highly recommed Twin Air.
First time experience with Twin Air. Researched several companies prior...got it down to five and based on research and reviews decided to call Twin Air. Service was scheduled for the next day. Was given an arrival window time. Called when they were en-route from the prior job. On arrival promptly slipped on booties to protect carpet. Very personable technician. Quickly located the cause of air only blowing on the first floor and corrected. Seemed experienced and knowledgeable. Educated me on the coolant being use was being phased out in two years for environmental reasons and how the cost had skyrocketed. Answered my questions concerning eventual system replacement in the future...approximate costs, etc., and refreshingly advised to do my homework but not to replace as long as it was working. Indicated all was currently good and never tried to sell anything not needed. Based on this experience I decided without any prompting to request a maintenance agreement - which I never expected to do after my experience with one with another company. Thanks for the good service.
