Recommended Customer Reviews

Great company to deal with, after having our system serviced at a fair price in 4/23/15 we ran into an issue on 5/10/15. Tuck and Howell not only returned in a timely manner they backed their work without additional charges. Service Tech Steven was very professional as well! I will be a customer moving forward!

I only give them 1 star because something is needed to leave a review. We called them to come out a check our gas hot water heater that suddenly after one year, would not stay lit. A guy came out, checked everything and told us the regulator needed to be replaced. After replacing it for $590, he could not get it adjusted correctly by himself. He came back the next day with a co-worker to help in adjusting the regulator. In doing this, they blew up our hot water heater. Then they wanted to quote us for a new heater.

What a great, family owned Company! Our AC unit was on the fritz and Jay came out and hooked us up with a new AC unit. Service was fast and friendly and always professional. Def will be using again!!

They have been and are great on their service side. Receptionist excels all the time. Getting them to bid on new jobs or business and give a fair bid is like pulling teeth. Seems like that part of the company needs to be better staffed.

We have an old through-the-wall unit that we have not used in several years, so we wanted someone to check it out and service it prior to using it this year. Lee came to our house and he was prompt and professional. Unfortunately, the unit is so old it uses a type of Freon that is no longer legal to use, so Lee told us he was going to make some calls to see if he could find a new through-the-wall unit we could consider purchasing as a replacement. After a few minutes, Lee informed us that a man named Chandler was on his way to our house to measure the old unit and talk to us. I found it a bit odd that Lee could not measure it and give us the information about a replacement unit himself, but he assured us that we would not be charged for Chandler's visit. When Chandler arrived, he and Lee went upstairs to look at the unit, and then they both went outside to Chandler's car where we assume they were sourcing a new unit for us. In the meantime, we were researching them online as well, and we could see that they run in the area of $800 to $1200. Chandler gave us a quote for $2700 for a new unit, which seems excessive. When we asked him how he arrived at that quote, when we could plainly see the units themselves are only around $1000, his vague answer was that there was labor and service and """"they have to make a living."""" He never explained what the additional $1700 was actually for, but I felt as though I was at a car lot. The icing on the cake was when my husband walked out with Chandler as he was leaving, and he actually told my husband there was only """"a few of those units available"""" as though we needed to hurry and make the purchase. Needless to say, we will not be doing business with this company. Even IF that actually was a reasonable price, their sales process was insulting.

We had our gas pack go out and called them to give us an estimate We also contacted 7 other hvac companies The other guys came and took our unit apart and gave us quotes and never charged us a dime to completely take it apart and tell us what a new unit would cost Tuck and Howell was the only company that charged $429 to do what everyone else did for nothing and they gave us a $17000 quote for a Cartier system We ended up going with another Carrier dealer who charged half for a unit and were so honest We would never use them again

Have used this company for years! Never had a problem and last week was no exception. The service tech, Rick, was right on with immediate diagnosis and no problems since. They are efficient, knowledgeable, and professional.

It's hard to get excited about a HVAC company, but this one deserves kudos, especially when they can rescue us from the mid summer Carolina heat. We have used this company both professionally and domestically since 2006. They have a long standing professional staff that is consistent and dependable. Every service tech that has worked on our systems is knowledgeable. Many come routinely for maintenance service, so they are familiar w all the details of our system. You will not find a new service tech learning at your expense on your system. Connie is in charge of dispatching and we think she is priceless. She has come to our aid numerous times, and since we have a service contract, we are continually maintained. That is why Tuck and Howell deserves your business, and 5+ stars. :)
