Jillian B.UPDATE: 7/17/2018: NEVER HIRE TOM. I'd give this negative stars if I could. He is completely unprofessional and unreliable. I think he's closed this business, but that could have been a lie to get out of fixing our AC. Every year we had to get our heat pump refilled with coolant, but he'd never run a pressure test or check for the leak. It took weeks (of no heat or AC) to get him to call us back and come out. Finally we called another company and within an hour they found a damaged connection on the outdoor unit. It cost me $1000 to fix his mistake, plus hours of headaches and lies from Tom. STAY AWAY.
5/8/2017: Tom installed our system a year and a half ago. It's been running really well. We've only had a problem twice, both times when we switched from heating to cooling. Last time he came out fairly quickly. This time, it's been impossible to reach him. His phone worked a week ago, but as of last Friday and today it's disconnected and he hasn't been responding to our emails. Tom, where did you go?!?
I have unfortunately had way too many atrocious experiences with this local HVAC company. Last fall, we replaced our entire HVAC system with Goodman A/C and gas forced hot air furnace from T.S. Heating & Cooling in Norristown, PA. The initial install was never completed as promised and we could not get the owner, Tom, to return to complete his work. We were also fairly certain that the install was done incorrectly. We spent months working our way up the corporate food chain at Goodman's Corporate Headquarters in Texas with our complaints and demands to have one of their company engineers come to our home to review the work Tom had done. Tom only came to the table when we pulled our full purchase price out of his bank account without notice (twice) and refused to give it back until the work was completed per Goodman's specifications appropriate for our home which was not the way Tom had installed it.
This past week, we paid a private energy consulting firm recommended by PECO Energy to perform an audit of our home after having completed replacement of all of the windows in our home with newer, more energy efficient windows. We questioned whether we were experiencing a lot of cold air infiltration into our home after our first winter with the new windows in place. During that inspection, all of our energy consuming appliances were also evaluated as part of the full energy audit. You can imagine our surprise when the person performing the audit detected leaks in the metal piping modified by Tom (owner of T.S. Heating & Cooling) during the new furnace installation. PECO Emergency Services had to be called and they rushed out to shut the gas off in our house while PECO verified the existence and location of the gas leaks and repaired one of them. PECO then advised that I needed to call the installer to repair the second gas leak because they were not authorized to fix the second leak for some reason. (What a potentially dangerous and explosive situation!). I called TSH&C and spoke directly with Jerry (Tom's sales person) and explained the urgent situation which required Tom's immediate attention per PECO. Jerry said he would contact Tom immediately. Four days have now passed and we still have not had any response from Tom about fixing his dangerous, faulty installation problem. We reached out to the Goodman management people with whom we had dealt previously to resolve issues with Tom and T.S. Heating & Cooling, but even that has not produced a response from Tom. All that Goodman would due is assure us that Tom and T.S. Heating & Cooling would be severely ""sanctioned"" by Goodman, but they would not divulge how. All they would do for us is provide us with the website for us to look up other area Goodman authorized dealers who would honor all of our equipment and service warranty contracts with Goodman. They said it would represent a ""conflict of interest"" to give us a referral to one of them to quickly resolve our dangerous gas leak issue. I guess their ""conflict of interest"" is not as important as the concern that our home, as well as those of our neighbors, could all be blown up ... we live in a townhome community. Get the picture?
If I could give this HVAC company (TSH&C) a negative star rating I would. Their lack of professionalism, ethics and scruples is far beyond comprehension. I don't know how Tom can sleep or look at himself in the mirror each day knowing how shameful and incompetent a business organization he operates. Considering Goodman's response to standing up for the health and safety of their customers, I would give them as equally low a rating and suggest that people always choose more reputable companies in the HVAC industry, of which there are many.
Don't waste your time. I have had several issues since installation. The owner ""Tom"" refuses to answer emails and phone calls. I was also promised several things that still have not been addressed since my installation in July 2015. Stay clear of this company and hire someone that will actually return calls and deliver as promised. Installation quality was extremely poor!!
I did not have a successful experience with TS Heating & Cooling based on a lack of professionalism and overall execution. At the end of last summer, TS Heating & Cooling attempted to fix an issue with a residential unit they installed because it stopped working. The owner came on three different occasions over the span of a few weeks to solve the problem, and the unit continued to malfunction. Having to communicate with him during this time was a nuisance because he was simply unprofessional and at times very rude. Moreover, he was not able to fix the problem.
Last week when the weather warmed up, I called another company to take a look since my central air was still not working. The technician of another company was able to fix the problem in less than 45 minutes, and the unit is now running fine. It is my recommendation to call upon a business that can respectfully communicate with customers and adequately solve problems. TS Heating and Cooling did not provide this experience.
Thanks to an unfortunate lack of professionalism by the contractor that installed our hvac unit it crashed a year later. Tom came out the DAY I called with all the likely parts I might need. Tore my whole unit apart and fixed MULTIPLE deficiencies. All for an unbelievable price. I cannot recommend a more professional and ethical contractor! We are customers for life!
Tom was very responsive to the service call request that was placed with his company. He arrived within an hour and fixed the problem. Would highly recommend him.
Nicole R.Everytime there's an issue with our heater or AC, Tom is always there to fix the problem, no questions asked. He also recommended we get our unit checked for the summer and winter; no surprises anymore!!
Thanks, Tom and TS!
Jennifer L.Our finished basement was always hot and uncomfortable to be in. Tom came over and recommended a ductless AC system. The installation was done in a few hours and the man cave is now the most comfortable room in the house! The wall unit was installed very professionally. Thanks tom for doing such a great job!
Shawn M.The sales technician arrived 2 hours late for the appointment.
I am finishing off the attic area in my house, and the technician informed me that the additional square footage would put the Air Conditioning system over its recommended capacity by less than 200 sq ft. However, he stated that since it was minimal it wouldn't put that much strain on the system. I informed him that if I had underperformance issues in the future, I would have a second system installed.
However, two days later, the salesman informed me that TS Heat & Air refused to perform the work due to the additional square footage.
A company saying one thing and then doing the opposite seems a bit hypocritical and is extremely poor business practice!
Don't trust this company! Yes Tom is a great salesman and very friendly. However he is a hack and is only as good as the help he brings. I have used him on my rentals, since his helper left a few years ago, his quality has gone down. I learned recently his work cause a lot of damage to atleast two houses with poor condensate draining and faulty unit support, besides my boiler. He bypassed the safety on the damper control( comes with it and prevent CO from coming back into the house if the chimney blocks) and didn't add a auto feeder(quoted) the unit didn't work properly and he said ""it wasn't necessary, I've installed these for years like this."" Yet it still failed inspection and he wouldn't come out and fix it with charging me $850 more. He also stripped the lettering of his van to hide from a contractor he did faulty work for. I have seen a few reviews online praising this company but were written by ""Nicole Rivera"" , ""Greg S"" , ""Lisa"", and ""Thomas S"" , the funny thing is his brother name is Greg, His mom's name is Lisa, his name is Thomas S and his wife's name is Nicole, can you guess her maiden name! If you are looking for a good way to waste your hard earn money on some shitty work then by all means call this guy, but I recommend you save yourself the headache and call someone else, anyone else!
