Tropic's contracting is supposedly run by Thomas Parish but he is just the front man for Richard Wheeler who is impersonating a contractor. Rick Wheeler doesn't know a hammer from a nail and rarely showed up to supervise our renovation which was major. We had one screw-up after another, not the least of which was the quartz countertop cut-out for the sink was 6 inches off and had to be redone, When I complained I was called a bitch. Lovely. Rick's workers are talented and overall nice guys but he treats them shabbily This wasn't my first reno project but it was by far the worst. There was no attention to detail, cabinets were placed incorrectly leaving a gap at the end of the wall, and on and on. Rick was supposed to pay the subcontractors out of the hefty deposit we gave but in order to get the job finished, we paid them. The flooring was ordered and sat from February until June in the warehouse and when it was due to be installed it was discovered to be the wrong flooring. Stay away from Tropic's Contracting. Rick is a good salesman but he's not honest and he's unreliable. It was the rare week they showed up more than one day, He takes on several jobs and takes from one to pay the other. It was the most stressful experience, then he vaporized, and pulled the guys off the job when it was not completed, leaving us to find someone to finish the job. No matter what job Rick shows as his reference be wary because truth be told, he has no idea what he's doing. Stay away.

Worst contractor I've ever encountered. Did not finish the job, but demanded payment before finishing the job. Walls cracked, moldings separated, floors coming up, doors misaligned, and the list continues. Contracted employees are untrained and arrive with missing tools and a 2 month renovation took 7 months and still is not complete and Thomas Parish is refusing to finish the job. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!
