When our hot water heater broke we made several attempts to contact plumbers to come as soon as possible one plumber recommended Trombley when they were too busy.
They came out the same day. They recommended a few hot water heaters for us to choose from and explained each and gave us prices.
They ordered the heater and it arrived quick. A few days later they arrived exactly when they promised.
They were done in a few hours. The original plumber who came out and his coworkers were very friendly. They put our 3 dogs at ease and my 6 year old granddaughter said of one of them ""that guy is really good to talk to and I like his voice""!
I wish I remembered his name. He also gave my husband a few pointers on another way to remove water from our flooding basement.
We now have a plumber we know we can rely on if the need arises again!

I called 4 plumbers in my area of St Johnsbury/Concord Vermont. Got a call from one 4-5 days later. I walked into Trombly and talked to Heather at the desk. Right away she was helpful. Al came twice after I found the part for my sink. He was professional and on time and fixed my sink. I was very happy it got done in a timely manner.

Stay away from this plumber for any job. Very unprofessional.

We had them fix the sewer return at our property and come to find out they left a rotted out cast iron pipe with a 2"" hole in it, a very obvious over-sight, and right next to the work they did complete.

In order to start the job they had to spend over $2000 on a professional cleaner (sewer return was leaking), which we completed at their direction. They chased us for final payment a matter of days after the work was completed. We paid them right away.

Finally, when we discovered the work was not completed, we gave them ample opportunity to step in and correct the problem. That did not happen. They disappeared.

It took us weeks and weeks to get a simple communication back and try and schedule a time for them to come meet us to discuss this glaring problem. We called and left message after message, only to receive an email saying:

No, we did the work but if you want us to come you can book us on an emergency rate basis or on a regular basis over a month out.

They won't even come meet us face-to-face or even on the phone! ""Email is best since I am in and out of the office.""

Highly unprofessional (and maybe a few other words). We are now left with the problem to fix with some other plumber...I guess....they won't return our calls.

Stay away from Trombley.

We worked with them for a few years. Were great until probs with 3-yr. old Pellergy boiler and biuger system became daily situation. They installed it and were at our house daily/weekly/monthly due to problems. We ended up replacing the Pellergy system with a most reliable and efficient MESys from another installer/plumber, leaving Trombley. Will not recommend them for pellet system work.

Insists they could help with the plumbing problem, that they had experience dealing with these systems, then the run around started, many times a call would be made to them, only to be put on hold then told they would call back, only they'd never call back.

All this just to make an appointment, on the 5th+ call and after 4 weeks. They finally decided that they'd refuse to make an appointment saying they wouldn't be able to figure out the problem! Without even coming to the house!

When I started to question this logic; I was put on with the service manager then the extra excuses started; saying they were too busy with all their other prior customers and it would take over a month to even MAKE the appointment; This normally would be an acceptable answer had it been at the start of our conversation 1 month prior. Had this been an honest exchange they would of told me up front about their schedule limitations; it was instead a sudden shift from the prior calls and discussions saying up till then they would be able to help.

Dishonest/Terrible phone service, unable to make an appointment, given the run around. Then told they didn't want my business. When pressed further was told they were ""Busy"". If they were so 'busy' they'd not be taking other appointments or making potential customers jump through these hoops.

I can't say anything about their actual work ability. As I didn't make it past their service department's mysterious appointment ""standards"".

The next place I called, in under 10 minutes, I had an appointment for the next week.

Try any other place before these guys. They are likely too ""Busy"" for new customers.

Also someone please review their actual work services if you see this; It may offset their terrible customer service.
